(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Ruiling from Jinsong Middle Street, Chaoyang District, was followed and arrested by officers from the Huashi Police Station, Dongcheng District, when she posted information about Falun Gong on January 20, 2020. Her case was turned over to the Procuratorate. She is being held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Yueli from the Qifu New Village, Panyu District, was arrested at home by officers from the Pingshan Police Station in mid-July 2020. Her home was ransacked and her computer and printer were confiscated. Her 92-year-old father was traumatized.
Ms. Liu was taken to the police station. The next day, she was taken to the Panyu District Detention Center. She has been held there since.
The Shushan District Court planned to hold a hearing on Ms. Wang Xiuying, who was nearly 80 years old, on the morning of August 26, 2020.
Ms. Wang has been persecuted many times for persevering in practicing Falun Gong. She has been sent to a labor camp twice, was sentenced to four years in prison (2008-2012). She was held in custody in a brainwashing center or detention center many times.
Ms. Wang was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong on November 14, 2019. Her home was ransacked. The police attempted to detain her, but the detention center refused to admit her. She was placed under police surveillance.
The Shuanggang Police Station, the Shushan District Procuratorate and the Court colluded with each other, and her case has been taken to the court. Ms. Wang faces trial.
Ms. Tao Lahuai and Ms. Wang Aihua were arrested at a resident’s home in the Longchiqiao Sub-district by officers from the Longchiqiao Police Station and residential committee personnel on August 18, 2020. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated their Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Both practitioners were released around 5 p.m. that day.
Officers including Sun from the Wenhualu Police Station broke into Ms. Ji Meilan’s home and ransacked the place on the afternoon of August 20, 2020. They confiscated a hand copy of Zhuan Falun and two photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
Ms. Li Yujun from Longkou City received a phone call from Longkou Labor Bureau in early August 2020. She was told to pay back the retirement salary she received between the day she was arrested and the day she was sentenced to prison. If she did not do so, the total amount would be deducted from upcoming payments.
Officers from the Baidu Township Police Station phoned Mr. Tan Guangfang several times and harassed him. They tried to force Mr. Tan to give up practicing Falun Gong by threatening to affect his children's schooling.
Ms. Zhang Jinfang and Ms. Qi Suhua from the Chaoyang District were caught on video surveillance camera when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on August 18, 2020. Four police officers found their homes and ransacked them. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and New Year pictures.
Both practitioners were held in the Shibalidian Police Station for two days. They were then released on bail.
Ms. Lu Fengying and her non-practitioner husband were arrested by Criminal Police Team leader Zhao Rui, from the Rencheng District Police Department, and over 20 officers from the Jiyang Police Station on July 15, 2020. Their home was ransacked.
Her husband was released. Ms. Lu is being held in the Jining Detention Center. Her case was turned over to the Procuratorate.
Ms. Zang Zhongmei was secretly sentenced to five years in prison in June 2020. She is being held in the No. 13 Team, Changchun Women's Prison.
Five or six officers pretending to be members of the community property management team knocked on Ms. Wang Shuqin’s door at 5 a.m. on July 22, 2020. They forced their way in and ransacked her home. They confiscated over 10 Falun Gong books and some paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them.
Ms. Wang, her non-practitioner husband, son, and daughter-in-law were all arrested and taken to the Chaoyang Police Station, and then to the Dongzhugou Police Station. Ms. Wang’s family members were not released until 5 p.m. Ms. Wang was released on July 24 after being extorted 5,000 yuan.
An elderly practitioner Wang from the Shandongbao area, Yuhong District, was reported to the police and arrested by officers from the Yangshi Police Station on the morning of August 23, 2020.
Mr. Duan Xianghui, a staff member of the Market Supervision Bureau, was reported to the police when he talked to people about Falun Gong in June 2020. He was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Beihu District Police Department.
Ms. Liao Guanghui will be tried by the Fucheng District Court on August 27, 2020.
Ms. Liao was arrested at home by officers from the Fucheng District Police Department and the Huayuan Police Station at noon on July 21, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She has been held in the Mianyang City Detention Center for over a year.
Ms. Zhou Lin, 61, was seen on a video surveillance camera when she was posting Falun Gong materials in her residential community on the afternoon of July 29, 2020. She was arrested.
Three days later, the local police station notified her family to go to the police station to sign the “Notice of Criminal Detention.” The police did not allow her family members to send her any clothes.
Ms. Zhou is being held in the Sanjiang Detention Center. The Nanming District Procuratorate is still falsifying evidence to frame her. They claimed that the trial would be held in two months.
Mr. Lei Zhongfu from the Fatou area, Chaoyang District, was recently arrested. The police forcibly took his blood samples, fingerprints, and palm prints. They also photographed him and recorded his voice. He was released.
The Party secretary of Xincuizhuang Brigade and former village head of the North Industrial Zone harassed Ms. Xiao Chunhua on the morning of August 22, 2020.
Ms. Xiao was told to sign paperwork. She was threatened that if she did not sign, it would adversely impact the future of her child. Ms. Xiao saw that the village head was videotaping.
