(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 14 provinces, where at least 66 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Ma Shaojie was arrested by officers from the Linqing City Domestic Security Division on August 17, 2019, and taken to the Guan County Detention Center. After her lawyer got involved, her family learned that her case had been submitted to the Guan Court in late 2019.
She was tried via video-link on June 16, 2020. The Liaocheng Intermediate Court sentenced Ms. Ma to three years in prison around July.
Ms. He Wen, 70, shouted “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in Tiananmen Square, and was arrested by officers from the Tiananmen Police Station on July 12, 2018. Her case was submitted to the Dongcheng District Procuratorate, and then to the Dongcheng Court. Both the procuratorate and the court agreed that Ms. He could be released on bail.
Officer Zang Yunfei, from the Yuetan Police Station, got several officers to monitor her around the clock.
Ms. He was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 7,000 yuan by the Dongcheng Court on the morning of November 25, 2019, and held in the Dongcheng Detention Center. She appealed, but it was rejected by the Dongcheng Court.
Ms. He went on a hunger strike to protest, and her weight dropped by almost a half in six months. She was released on June 4, 2020.
Officer Zang again organized several officers to monitor her, and harass her. Police officers and personnel from the neighborhood committee went to her home to harass her on the sensitive dates.
Ms. Liu Xiaoyue was arrested by officers from the Zhongshan Domestic Security Division on May 19, 2020. She has been held in the Liupanshui City No. 2 Detention Center for more than three months.
Ms. Liu was sentenced twice before. She was imprisoned for over three years in 2009. During that time, she was severely beaten by officers from the Domestic Security Division. Her hand was injured, and she lost most of her hearing in her left ear. Even now, she can't hear clearly.
Eleven practitioners from the Mancheng District or their children have been harassed at home or on the phone since August 2020.
Mr. Han Zhanlu from Hanzhuang Village was harassed at home by two judicial agents from Mancheng Town on the morning of August 8. They tried to pressure him to give up his belief, but he refused. The agents went to Mr. Han Liansheng’s home in Hanjiazuo Village. Mr. Han wasn't there, so they told his wife to sign the three statements. She refused. The agents then drove to Ms. Ma Lijie’s home in Chengdong Village. Ms. Ma’s family refused to let them in.
Ms. Zhao Baoling and two other practitioners from Lianyu Village were harassed by agents from Yaozhuang Township one day in August. The agents demanded that they sign the three statements and put their fingerprints on them.
Several people from the Shenxing Town government went to Ms. Wu Rong’s home in Weizhuang Village in August. Ms. Wu’s husband wasn't there. They ordered Ms. Wu to give them their personal ID cards and residency registration book, and also sign and put her fingerprints on the three statements. Ms. Wu refused. Her niece signed and put her fingerprints on them instead.
Ms. Xu Yiying and a former practitioner were harassed by judicial agents from Daceying Town on August 3. The agents tried to get them to sign and put their fingerprints on the three statements.
The daughter of Ms. Wu Yanying, a retired teacher from Mancheng Town, received a harassing call from her boss. The daughter, fearing she would be persecuted, did not allow her mother to go out, and quarreled with her. Her husband beat Ms. Wu.
Mr. Liu Hiajun and his wife Ms. Liu Chunlian were arrested at home.
Mr. Liu Wansheng’s family was notified that Mr. Liu would be tried by the Linghai City Court on the morning of September 4, 2020.
Ms. Sun Meiyan, in her 60s, was arrested in August 2019 after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center, and later released on bail for health reasons.
Her family was notified in mid-August 2020 that she would be tried in the Xigang Court on August 25. They haven’t heard any news about her since.
Ms. Guo Xiulan’s case has been submitted to the Changping Procuratorate.
Ms. Jiang Li was arrested at home by officers from the Beijingzi Town Police Station on August 26, 2020. She was taken to the Dandong Detention Center, but they refused to accept her so she was taken back to the police station.
Ms. Jiang was taken to the detention center again the next day. She is now being held there.
Ms. Zhang Suijuan, around 40, from Huadu City was arrested on July 21, 2020, for posting Falun Gong fliers. She is still in police custody.
Mr. Zheng Jiajin, 80, and Ms. Zhu Fenglan, 65, were arrested at a rental property by more than twenty officers from the Nanqiao Police Department and the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of August 28, 2020. The officers used a key to open the courtyard and a key to open the door of the house. They confiscated many items and took Mr. Zheng and Ms. Zhu to the police department for interrogation.
Mr. Zheng and Ms. Zhu were taken to the Xinxiang City Detention Center on the afternoon of August 29. Mr. Zheng’s blood pressure was very high, so the detention center refused to admit him. He was released later that night. Ms. Zhu is being held in the Xinxiang Detention Center.
Ms. Lu Xiangluan was questioned by agents from the Dagang Street Office, Dagang Comprehensive Management Office, and the Sihuali Neighborhood Committee in November 2019. After that, the Party secretary of her work unit talked to her and demanded that she sign the three statements.
Huang and others from the Dagang Neighborhood Office repeatedly harassed her by either going to her home to video her with a camcorder or stop and question her on the street.
Ms. Tan Haiyan was tried by the East District Court on August 18, 2020.
Wang Yujun and two other officers from the Xintai City Domestic Security Division forced village cadres to go with them to Ms. Yin Peiqin’s home. They climbed over the wall and entered the place in the early hours of August 27, 2020.
Ms. Yin, 72, was taken to the Xintai Police Department for a physical exam against her will. A person, whose hands kept shaking, took her blood sample. Ms. Yin underwent a B-scan ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), and a full-body CT scan.
Ms. Fan Baoying was arrested by officers from the Huangchuan County Police Department on August 28, 2020.
Ms. Liu Qiaoyun and Ms. Ding Cilan from Yunmeng County were stopped by a plainclothes officer from the Chengzhong Police Station around July 20, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Chengguan Town. The officer searched and took Ms. Liu’s purse. Ms. Liu and Ms. Ding managed to escape.
Ms. Yuan Guirong from Yunmeng was stopped by two plainclothes officers on August 13 for talking to people about Falun Gong in front of the Yunmeng Chinese Medicine Hospital.
Mr. Li Xiaoqiang from Yunmeng was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station on August 5 after someone reported him for talking to people about Falun Gong and giving out software to circumvent the Internet firewall in Chengguan. The officers ransacked his home, took him to the Yunmeng Domestic Security Division, and confiscated his cellphone. Mr. Li was released later that afternoon. He asked the police to return his cellphone on August 6, and went there again the next day to ask for his cellphone. Officers from the Yunmeng Domestic Security Division arrested him and took him straight to the Xiaogan City Detention Center. He was held there for 15 days.
Mr. Wu Huaxin, 82, was searched by security guards when he went to observe a trial in the Wujiang Court on January 7, 2020. He was arrested by officers from the Suzhou Domestic Security Division and the Songling Police Station for carrying Falun Gong keepsakes.
Mr. Wu was interrogated in the Songling Police Station. Police searched his home, and confiscated his Falun Dafa books, a radio, and other personal belongings.
Mr. Wu was interrogated three times in the police station. His case was submitted to the Wujiang Court in August.
The Hanyang Procuratorate passed Ms. Li Mulan’s case to the Hanyang Court on June 5, 2020.
Ms. Yao Weimin was arrested by officers from the Shishan Police Station around 10:00 p.m. on August 20, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was released on bail the following evening.
Ms. Pan Yanyan, Ms. Pan Rongqing, and Ms. Ma Yuzhen are due to be tried in the No. 1 Court of Laishan District Court on the morning of September 2, 2020.
Ms. Li Xiuzhen from Dongning City was arrested by officers from the No. 2 Police Station on the morning of August 22, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about Falun Gong. Four officers from the police station ransacked her home and confiscated a picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books, cash, and other personal belongings.
Ms. Li was released that afternoon. She later went to the police station and asked for her belongings to be returned. The officers arrested her and took her to the Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Liu Shuya, in her 50s, was arrested around June 10, 2020, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Ergezhai area. She is being held in the Sanjiang Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Minghui, 42, was arrested at around 10:00 p.m. on August 29, 2020. She is being held in the Tianquan Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Zhilan was arrested at home around 7:00 a.m. on August 12, 2020. Fengnan District judicial officers jumped over the wall from her neighbor’s yard, broke into her home, and ransacked the place. Many of her personal belongings were confiscated.
She was taken away while still in her pajamas. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Kaiping Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Xiuhua’s husband received a call from a community agent on August 27, 2020. The caller said that all would be settled once Ms. Zhang came to the community office and stated that she would no longer practice Falun Gong, in front of a camcorder.
Mr. Hu Shaowei was being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center. He was transferred to the Jinzhou Prison on August 21, 2020.
Ms. Zhan Zhongqin was arrested at home by officers from Kezuo County on the afternoon of August 26. Her whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Zhan and Ms. Zhang Shujuan were arrested a month earlier after someone reported them for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Zhan was released the next day after her son bailed her out. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Chaoyang Detention Center.
Ms. Xu Na, Mr. Li Zhongze, Mr. Li Lixin, Ms. Meng Qingxia, Ms. Deng Jing, Ms. Zheng Yujie, Mr. Zhang Renfei, Mr. Li Jiaxuan, Ms. Zheng Yanmei, and Mr. Liu Qiang were arrested in various locations 40 days ago. They are being held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center, and have been formally placed under arrest.
Mr. Zhao Lijun is still being held in the No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Wang Liying and her husband Mr. Zhou Yandong have been released.
Ms. Wu Shuzhen, 70, Ms. Xiao Benying, 56, Ms. Wang Weidong (a retiree from a car factory preschool education center), and Ms. Sang Jingmei (a teacher at Engineer Formal College), were transferred from the Weizigou Detention Center to the No. 2 Detention Center.
Ms. Yu Fengqing has been missing for 17 days.
Mr. Zhong Xin was harassed at home by Nanbaoshi Village cadres and agents from the Fuzuo Township government on July 16, 2020. They asked if he was still practicing Falun Gong. His wife said that he couldn't speak. The agents asked her to say no on his behalf. She refused. The village cadres later threatened that they would not allow their children and grandchildren to go to school.
Mr. Hu Shuchuan, 77, was harassed at home by three agents from the Fuzuo government on the morning of August 3. They asked if he was still practicing Falun Gong. They videotaped him, and threatened him, his son, and daughter-in-law.
Mr. Liu Yuanqing was harassed at home by three agents from the Fuzuo government on the morning of August 7. They asked if he was still practicing Falun Gong, and threatened him, his son, and daughter-in-law.
