(Minghui.org) A 25-year-old photographer has been detained for nearly a month following her arrest for distributing materials about Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Guo Yuhong, a native of Binzhou City, Shandong Province, moved to Shanghai in 2020 upon finding a job there.
Ms. Guo, who had just taken up Falun Gong not long ago, was worried that the Chinese communist regime has been using similar suppressive tactics from the persecution in handling the pandemic, so she used her spare time to distribute flyers about it.
On December 10, 2020, she was reported by a local resident. The police soon found out her identity by going through surveillance camera footage and arrested her at her workplace. Her home was also ransacked, and her computer, printer and Falun Gong books were confiscated.
Ms. Guo was then put under criminal detention and has been held at the Xuhui District Detention Center since.
