(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 27 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 132 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Li Weizong, 58, was arrested at work by officers from the Linchi Police Station on the early morning of October 14, 2020. He has since been held at the Zouping District Detention Center.
The Zouping District Domestic Security Division submitted Mr. Li’s case to the Zouping District Procuratorate in early November. The procuratorate forwarded the case to the Zouping District Court around December 11. The court was scheduled to try the case at 9:00 a.m. on December 28, 2020.
More than twenty practitioners were arrested in a unified action by the Danling County Police Department, including Su Zhijun (gender unknown), Ms. Zhang Yulan, Gou Xinhua (gender unknown), Lan Shangqin (gender unknown), Wang (first name and gender unknown), Song (first name and gender unknown). Their homes were ransacked. Falun Gong books, computers, and other properties were confiscated. Su Zhijun was released at night. The others’ situations are unknown.
The Hegang City Police Department and affiliated police stations took a unified action at 2:00 p.m. on December 11, 2020. Officers of each area arrested practitioners on their name lists. Material production sites in Xiangyang District, Xingshan and Dalu were raided.
An incomplete list of arrested practitioners include Zhao Fuqiang, Liu Yu, Li Baoxia, Jiang Yunjing, Yu Xiuying, Liu Fenghua, Hu Guijie, Bi Shufang, Fan Longsheng, Liu Fengqin, Zhan Cuiling, Zhou Hui, Dai Yanwen, Zhang Shuxia, Du Guihua, Peng (first name unknown), Yan Huijuan, Li Jiaming, Yan Tingwei, Gao Zhonggen, Han Guixia, Zhu Songshan, Chu Furong, Xu Tingxiang, and Gong Guizhi.
As of December 21, Zhang Shuxia, Peng, Gao Zhonggen, Dai Yanwen and Du Guihua had been released.
Ms. Zhang Qiaolei was arrested on the afternoon of December 9, 2020, by officers from the Tonghua County Domestic Security Division. She has been held at the Changliu Detention Center.
Her second eldest sister, third eldest sister Ms. Zhang Qiaoxiu, and daughter Ms. Wang Meiqi were detained on December 21, 2020, when they appealed in the police department. Ms. Zhang Qiaoxiu’s home was ransacked. Details are unknown.
Ms. Jin Guoqin was arrested at her father’s home on December 1, 2020 by three officers from the Yantongshan Town Police Station. Her elder sister, Ms. Jin Guolan, was arrested at home on the same day by officers from the Yantongshan Town Police Station. The sisters were taken to an orphanage where the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office were operating a brainwashing center targeting Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Jin Guolan was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center for 10 days of detention on December 2. When her detention term ended and her family went to pick her up, she was taken back to the brainwashing center and ordered to sign a guarantee statement. She refused. But her sister, Ms. Jin Guoqin was pressured into writing the name of Jin Guolan on a blank piece of paper. The sisters were released on December 13.
Ms. Zhao Guiqing was arrested at home on December 5, 2020, by half a dozen officers. The officers ransacked her home, videotaped the process, and seized her cell phone, several Falun Gong books, several amulets, four calendars, a Falun Gong pamphlet, two satchels, and a bike worth over 1,000 yuan.
She tried to take back her Falun Gong books. The officers handcuffed her and took her to the Guanyingsi Police Station. They forcibly took her pictures and fingerprints in the interrogation room. While resisting the fingerprinting, she suddenly developed high blood pressure and heart disease symptoms–shortness of breath, convulsions, and shaking in the legs. She was taken to the hospital.
She was taken back to the police station late at night. The officer resumed the interrogation. She did not comply. A fat and fierce officer came. He grabbed, cracked, and pinched her hands. She struggled to break free. Two more officers joined in. She felt her bones had been crushed. She again had shortness of breath and convulsions. They took no notice. The officer took her to a cell. Her legs gave out. The officer dragged her and ran. She was out of breath, and her pinched hands had blood marks.
After 3:00 a.m., she was released to her husband and son. An officer in charge said she was released on bail and ordered her to confess that she had distributed Falun Gong flyers in communities.
Ms. He Rongtao was harassed at home on December 1, 2020, by community clerks Hu Jinhua and Li Yuan. They ordered her to give up Falun Gong practice and sign the three statements to renounce her faith. She refused and clarified the truth to them about the persecution, btu they continued to harass her for about an hour.
Ms. He was harassed at home again on December 7, 2020. The town’s Communist Party deputy secretary Huang Zhifeng came with the two clerks. They again ordered her to give up Falun Gong and sign the three statements. After she refused, they called her husband home and pressured him to sign on her behalf. He refused. Huang said, “If you don’t sign, the bonus and benefits of your whole work unit will be at risk.”
Ms. Wang Shuping’s husband and children were harassed and threatened by Communist Party members. They caved and pressured her to give up Falun Gong and sign the three statements.
Ms. Chang Xiuhua, 52, was arrested at home by officers from the Huanan County Domestic Security Division, led by Captain Li Xiaolin, on December 8, 2020. She was first taken to the Lixin Police Station, then the Jiamusi Detention Center. But the detention center did not take her in because of her health condition. The officers took her to the Jiamusi Center Hospital for physical exam and then back to the detention center. She was coughing and had a breast abscess. The center denied her admission. The officers released her unwillingly.
Ms. Ni Xiuhua, in her 70s, was intercepted and reported to police for distributing Falun Gong flyers on December 17, 2020. She had an acquaintance call her husband to come. Officers from the Gulou Police Department drove to the scene. They pushed her to the ground and kicked her. Her husband stepped forward to stop them. So did some bystanders.
She was carried into a police car, taken to the police department, and locked in a small isolated cell. She came out of the cell with injuries in several places and was admitted to the Gaizhou City Center Hospital. Two officers were stationed there. Her family went and signed some paperwork. She was released the next day.
Ms. Song Chunmei was arrested by officers from the Donggou Police Station on November 24, 2020, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers searched her, took her key, used it to enter her home, and ransacked the place. They confiscated a printer, a computer, cash, and other items. Ms. Song was placed under criminal detention.
The Linju County Domestic Security Division and 610 Office ordered police stations, village residential committees, and related work units to harass practitioners. According to incomplete statistics, a dozen practitioners were harassed, including Sun Shihua (gender unknown), Zheng Chengmei (gender unknown), Ms. Guo Yongfang, Ms. Zhang Jinxia, and Ms. Liu Xinghua.
Ms. Feng Jiying and Ms. Chen Xiuhua were tried in the Zhuozhou Court at 9:00 a.m. on December 24, 2020.
Dozens of practitioners were taken to detention centers or detention houses during a citywide arrest conducted by Hegang City police and community clerks after 2 p.m. on December 11, 2020. Several practitioners fled. Some material production sites were raided.
Known arrested practitioners were Mr. Zeng Qinghe, Ms. Han Guixia, Ms. Liu Yu, Ms. Zhou Hui, Mr. Jiang Yunjing, Ms. Bi Shufang, Ms. Zhang Shuxia, Ms. Du Guihua, Ms. Xu Tingxiang, Zhu Chongshan (gender unknown), Ms. Hu Guijie, Ms. Yu (first name unknown), Li Baixia (gender unknown), Ms. Dai Yanwen, Ms. Liu Shuqin, Mr. Gao Zhonggen and his wife, Ms. Liu (first name unknown) and her husband Mr. Xu You, Ms. Gong Guizhi, Zhan (first name and gender unknown), Peng Yansong (gender unknown), Yang Fan (gender unknown), Ms. Yan Tingwei, Mr. Fan Longsheng, and Chu (first name and gender unknown).
Many practitioners’ homes were ransacked. Falun Gong books and pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, and other items were confiscated. Many were pressured to write the three statements. Ms. Zhang Shuxia, Ms. Du Guihua, and Ms. Dai Yanwen were released after detention.
Additional practitioners were arrested around December 12. They were Ms. Yang Xiaohong, Ms. Li Qingyun, Ms. Wang Shuxia, Yang Xiaojing (gender unknown), Mr. Sun Shihong, Li Yanchun (gender unknown), Han Ru (gender unknown), Ms. Zhang Yan, Mr. Gao Ying, Zheng Maocun (gender unknown), Ms. Huang Xiaoxia, Mr. Xu Xianda, and Mr. Huang (first name unknown).
Gao Chengzhi (gender unknown) was stalked and arrested by officers from the Yangting Town Police Station on December 22, 2020, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and handing out Falun Gong calendars and drawings. Details are unknown.
Ms. Liu Li was deprived of her pension in November 2020.
She was fired from her job and sentenced to five years in prison in 2000.
Mr. Liu Qingtao and Mr. Lin Maocheng are being held at the Dalian Development District Detention Center.
Mr. Ma Tieping was arrested at home by officers from the Daonan Police Station and the Yuhuatai Police Department at noon on December 16, 2020. He is being held at the Yuhuatai District Detention Center.
Mr. Yan Baoqin was harassed at home by three officers from the Sanshuitou Town Police Station on the afternoon of December 5, 2020. They questioned him if he still practiced Falun Gong and took pictures of him.
Ms. Zhang Yuxia was harassed at home on December 15, 2020 by five people, including Ma (first name unknown) and Zhang Jie from the Yanjiao Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and Chen Jidong from Yejin Police Station. On December 16, ten officers arrested Ms. Zhang at home, held her in a car, and pressured her to renounce Falun Gong. She refused.
Ms. Zhou Huirong of Changshu City was arrested on December 15, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held at the Suzhou No. 4 Detention Center. Ms. Zhu Xiaofang and her husband Mr. Wang (first name unknown) were arrested on December 16, 2020. Their home was ransacked. They were released on December 17.
Ms. Huang Dehua, in her 70s, was harassed at home on December 19, 2020. The Gongqingcheng Political and Legal Affairs Committee deputy director Li Gang, Police Department 610 Office instructor Xu Jun, Ganlu Town Yu Guilin, and Juyuan Community director Zou Xiulan pressured her to sign the three statements.
The harassers ate and slept in her home, threatened her and her husband with stopping their pensions and freezing their bank accounts until she signed. They depended on her pension and savings, and her husband was forced to sign for her.
Mr. Jiang Hongfu was arrested by officers from the Mishan City Domestic Security Division around December 19, 2020. His home was ransacked. He was interrogated for over four hours in an underground interrogation room in the Mishan Police Department. After 8:00 p.m., police called his work unit leader and his family to pick him up. He was released on bail.
Ms. Xu Jingwen was arrested at home by officer from the Zhanqian Police Station, agents from Tiefeng District 610 Office, and clerks from the Nanhong Community on December 22, 2020. She was taken to the Tiefeng Police Department and released the next day.
Ms. Zhu Guijuan was arrested by officers from the Xinghua Community Police Station on December 23, 2020.
Six practitioners, including Li Jihe (gender unknown) were arrested by a dozen officers, including one named Liu Cheng, from the Yangting Police Station on December 22, 2020. Huancui District 610 Office agent Liu Jie and two others interrogated the practitioners. Four practitioners were released after 5:00 p.m. The remaining two practitioners were still in police custody.
Ten practitioners, Ms. Tang Zhuying, Ms. Lang Baohua, Ms. Cai Xiuying, Ms. Li Yanqing, Ms. Ding Yan, Ms. Jiao Qihua, Ms. Zhao Lihua, Zhu Mingdi (gender unknown), Huo Xiaohui (gender unknown) and Mr. Li Lizhuang, were arrested on April 7, 2020 by officers from the Daqing City Domestic Security Division and Longnan Police Department.
Several practitioners used cell phones in a car. Their calls were monitored by police.
Seven of them, Li Lizhuang, Huo Xiaohui, Ms. Tang Zhuying, Ms. Li Yangqing, Ms. Ding Yan, Ms. Qiao Qihua, and Ms. Zhao Lihua, were tried online by the Ranghu Road Court at 1:30 p.m. on December 29, 2020.
Mr. Yang Xin, Ms. Tian Fenghua, Bi Jianhua (gender unknown), Ms. Liu Zhaohai, Ms. Li Yufeng, Meng Zhaofu (gender unknown), and Mr. Hao Zhanguo were harassed at home by township security office director on November 18, 2020. The practitioners were ordered to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, but they all refused.
Ms. Ma (first name unknown), in her 60s, living near Two Seven District Medical School, was formally arrested. She is being held at the No. 3 Detention Center.
Clerks from the Gulin Street Comprehensive Management Office and Residents Committee twice knocked on the door of Ms. Dou Guiqin’s home on the morning of December 4, 2020. They went to knock on her door again on the afternoon of December 5. At the night, officers from the Gulin Street Police Station went to her home in a car, knocked on her door, and stationed themselves on the street.
On December 9, the clerks, led by Wang Yongchang from the Comprehensive Management Office, went to harass Ms. Dou’s parents, who were in their 90s and lived dozens of miles away. In addition, the clerks went to knock on the door of their son’s home.
Officer Liao Jianping from the Ruijing Police Station led three clerks from the street office and residential committee to harass Xin Yanjun (gender unknown) at home on December 7, 2020. No one answered the door. Liao called Xin’s spouse, but no one answered. Liao then called their daughter.
On December 17, clerks from the street office and residential committee harassed Xin’s family and called Xin’s son-in-law and ordered him to make Xin comply.
