(Minghui.org) Thanks to Falun Gong practitioners’ persistent efforts over the past two decades, many Chinese have understood that the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong has no legal basis. After people are aware of the truth, what will they do?
When a 70-year-old practitioner in Hebei Province recently tried to tell a young man the facts about Falun Gong, he refused to listen and reported her to the police, saying that she was a young woman in her 20s.
When a police officer showed up, he was displeased that the young man had lied about the practitioner’s age but reluctantly took her to the police station. In a secluded place he quietly told her, “Do not answer any of my questions.”
Then he took the practitioner into a room to make a video interview. At first, the practitioner thought that it was rude if she didn’t answer the officer’s questions, but when she did, the officer erased the video recording and redid it. After he did that three times, she understood what she should do and stopped answering. Then the police officer showed the final video to his supervisor and asked for instructions. The practitioner was released that same day.
My mother was held in a detention center for her faith for over two years. When my father divorced her, I couldn’t help but blame my mother.
After my mother was released, I could tell that she must have been tortured because her health was poor. However, she was still steadfast in her faith. I was moved and chose to stand with her.
While I stayed with my mother, she told me how wonderful Falun Gong is; how Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, gave lectures all over the world; and how practitioners have risked their lives to raise awareness of the persecution. Gradually, I understood my mother and truly supported her perseverance.
I have a relative who was also a practitioner. Her daughter was not supportive at all. She cooperated with the local authorities to force her mother to sign the document renouncing her faith. She told me that if her mother didn’t sign it, she would be implicated. She tried to persuade me to do the same with my mother so that my future and my job wouldn’t be in jeopardy. I told her, “What I want is for my mother to be happy. I will support her and Falun Gong.”
My mother always told me that, because I spoke up for Falun Gong and support her practice, I would be blessed. And what she said turned out to be true.
A local institution was recruiting this year and listed a position that fit me well. I took the recruitment test but didn’t think I did well. To my surprise, I did very well on the written test and came out on top in the interview. There were questions slandering Falun Gong in the political background check, but I skipped them even though I could have failed the review. And I got the job and a good salary. I believe that I was indeed blessed. I appreciate Master Li and will always support Falun Gong.
