(Minghui.org) To expedite the sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners, the Chinese communist regime in recent years have designated certain procuratorates and courts to handle all Falun Gong cases in a specific region.
One case in example is the Wujiang District Procuratorate and Wujiang District Court in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
Since the Chinese communist regime began to persecute Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline, in 1999, sentencing the practitioners to prison through the rubber-stamp judiciary branch has been one of the major persecution tactics.
Below are a collection of cases of Falun Gong practitioners being indicted and/or sentenced by the Wujiang District Procuratorate and Wujiang District Court in recent years.
Mr. Liu Rongpin, a native of Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province living in her daughter’s home in Suzhou, was arrested in April 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 3.5 years by the Wujiang District Court in June 2018.
Ms. Xuan Xiaomei and Ms. Zhu Peiqin were arrested on April 26, 2019. They appeared in Wujiang District Court on January 7, 2020. The judge sentenced Ms. Xuan to two years and Ms. Zhu to six months on July 22, 2020.
Ms. Wu Xingying, 74, was arrested on May 10, 2019. She appeared in court on January 17, 2020 and was sentenced to one year with a 1,000-yuan fine on May 8, 2020.
Ms. Jiang Sugen, in her 70s, was arrested on May 29, 2019. She was tried on December 8, 2020 and is now awaiting verdict.
Ms. Ji Guizhen, 73, was arrested on September 23, 2019. She was tried on August 11, 2020 and sentenced to three years and three months with a 3,000-yuan fine in December 2020.
Mr. Wu Huaxin, 82, was first arrested on January 7, 2020, for attending the hearing of Ms. Xuan and Ms. Zhu. Although he was released on bail on the next day, he was later indicted and tried. The judge sentenced him to three months on May 28, 2021.
Ms. Lu Guohua, in her 70s, was arrested on February 7, 2020, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. She stood trial on January 12, 2021 and is now awaiting verdict.
Ms. Jin Changlin was arrested in June 2020. She appeared in court on October 30, 2020 and was sentenced to six months with 2,000 yuan fine on March 22, 2021.
Ms. Jiang Suzhen, in her 70s, was arrested on July 19, 2020 and has had her case submitted to the Wujiang District Procuratorate.
Ms. Yao Weimin, 63, was arrested on August 20, 2020 for passing out informational materials about Falun Gong. She was tried through a video conference on June 22, 2021. The prosecutor recommended a six-month prison term.
Ms. Huang Zheng, 79, was arrested on July 5, 2021 for providing Falun Gong materials to her sister-in-law for distribution. The prosecutor is in the process of indicting her.
