Police in Shulan City, Jilin Province Force Feed Falun Gong Practitioners with Wasabi Oil

(Minghui.org) As Ms. Guo Xiumei refused to cooperate with the police interrogation following her arrest on May 11, 2021, for practicing Falun Gong, the police covered her head and transferred her to an undisclosed location. They beat her, intimidated her with the torture instrument displayed in the room, and poured wasabi oil mixed with urine into her nose.

Since the Chinese communist regime began to persecute Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline, in 1999, the police in Shulan City, Jilin Province, has used the method of force-feeding wasabi oil to torture the practitioners and force them to admit to fabricated charges against them. 

Ms. Guo is not the only Falun Gong practitioner in Shulan City subjected to the wasabi oil torture. Below are a collection of such cases.

Ms. Li Zhuhua was arrested in 2000 by officers of Beicheng Police Station. Wang Xinchang, the police instructor, force-fed her wasabi oil.

Mr. Yang Guoshu, another practitioner arrested in 2000, was also force-fed wasabi oil by Wang Xinchang, police chief Yang Shuhua, deputy chief Du Yuzhuo, officer Li Zhuo, Zhu Zhaohe and Jiang.

Ms. Song Yanqun and her sister Ms. Song Bing developed severe lung conditions after being force-fed wasabi oil by officers Wang Tingbai, Li Jiazhe and Xiao Yong of Shulan City Domestic Security Office, following their arrests in 2004. They both contracted tuberculosis. Ms. Song Bing passed away in 2009 as a result of the persecution.

Mr. Yu Shujin was arrested in 2004 and force-fed wasabi oil by officers Li Zhuo and Li Jiazhe. He later developed cirrhosis and ascites. He passed away on February 11, 2006. He was 53.

Mr. Wang Jiamin and his wife Ms. Cao Guihua were force-fed wasabi oil by officers of Shulan City Domestic Security Office, following their arrests in 2004. 

Officers of Shulan City Domestic Security Office dripped wasabi oil into Mr. Wang Wenpeng’s eyes and nose, after he was arrested in 2004. 

Others who were force-fed wasabi oil or had it dripped into their eyes and nose include Ms. Guo Xiuqing (arrested in 2005), Mr. Zhao Yongcai (arrested in 2006) and Ms. Wang Hongyan (arrested in 2007).
