(Minghui.org) My late parents left my siblings and me property. In dealing with this issue, I acted very generously and gave my siblings more shares, something ordinary people would not be able to do.
I felt my personal interest had been completely removed. However, a recent incident revealed some hidden attachments.
I work in a shop and often need supplies from other stores. I bought a bike to make things easier. Sometimes, my co-workers would borrow the bike. However, after a while they would take the bike without asking, and treat it as public transportation.
I didn’t pay attention at first, but then I discovered that some people had been putting heavy things in the basket and broke it. Some took the bike and did not return it, leaving me to find the bike. Due to heavy usage, the bike began to have problems. I had to pay to get it fixed.
In two years, my beautiful bike had become old and dirty and was also hard to ride. I ended up buying a new one and disposed of the old one.
My personal interest arose, and I put a lock on the new bicycle. My co-workers were not happy, because they used to ride my bicycle all the time.
Some who knew me well suggested that I remove the lock, making me a little unhappy. A few days later, I couldn't get the lock open because it was rusted from the rain. Finally, I cut the lock.
This was obviously a reminder to let go of an attachment, but I could not let go of my attachment to personal interests. A new co-worker handed me another lock for my bicycle, but it was hard to use and it would occasionally not lock. As a result, I left the lock with the key in it.
It did not take long for the key to disappear. “Who took out my key?” I yelled at the front desk of the company.
No one answered as it seemed everyone was waiting to see my next reaction. Since I have cultivated Dafa for many years, my xinxing wasn’t bad and I didn’t get angry, although I was unhappy. I bought another lock but couldn't get the key into the keyhole. I completely understood then that this had to do with my personal interests.
I figured how to open the lock but decided to remove it. When I let go of this attachment, nothing bad happened. Everyone continued riding my bike, but they cherished it now. The bike is in good condition, and it has not been lost.
When this incident passed, I felt a little strange. Why could I let go of property given to me by my late parents, but not a bike? I realized that my attachment to personal interests has been removed, but there were some residual things that had to be cleaned up.
I believe many practitioners may have similar situations. In fact, it is nothing. As long as one understands that whatever happens is a good thing, you can remove it.
