(Minghui.org) A woman in Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province, has been detained for six months for refusing to give up her faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Liu Yumei, 60, was arrested at her temporary residence in nearby Harbin City on June 10, 2021. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, laptop, printer, and 2,000 yuan in cash. She has been detained incommunicado ever since.
Prior to her latest arrest, Ms. Liu was detained five times, the longest stretch for three years, for telling people how Falun Gong cured her diabetes. All of her family members have diabetes and two of her younger brothers died from it in their 30s.
Fearful of being implicated, her husband divorced her. She was dealt another heavy blow when her father passed away in late 2020 after being hit by a car a year ago.
