(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 37 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Fenglan from Dadong District was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. She is being held in No. 1 Aisle, No. 2 Ward, Shenyang Women’s Prison.
Her family has not seen Ms. Li since the police took her away from home on April 22, 2021. Family members went to the prison twice, but prison officials did not allow them see her.
Mr. Liu Naiyan from Dongsuozhuang Village, Shuanghou Town, Yinan County, and Ms. Song Bingmei from Andi Town were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on November 8, 2021.
Mr. Liu has been harassed and monitored by the Shuanghou Town Comprehensive Management Office, the police station, and the judicial agency for some time. His family members were threatened on numerous occasions. He was abducted and taken to a brainwashing center. Ms. Song was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials.
Both practitioners were tortured for three days, when two people from Linyi City came on-site to oversee the “Zero-out” campaign across the city (a systematic government effort to force every practitioner on a blacklist to renounce Falun Gong).
Mr. Yang Anqi was forcibly taken from his work unit to the Guangming Police Station around 11 a.m. on November 25, 2021, by Zheng Xingdong and others from the Wanjia Village Committee of Zhihe Township, Pengzhou City, Ji Huitian and others from the Guangming Police Station, and the Party secretary of the work unit brigade. Members of the 610 Office and Ji Huitian punched and kicked Mr. Yang in order to make him sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. Three officers grabbed him and forced him to press his fingerprints to a document.
The head of Gaotuan Town, Fushan District, and others went to Ms. Lu Zhenna’s home to record and videotape her. They ordered her to make a statement that she would no longer practice Falun Gong. They also told Ms. Lu’s two daughters that if their mother did not make a statement to give up Falun Gong, she would be arrested the next day, and none of her children or grandchildren would be allowed to go to university.
These people also went to Mr. Wang Yingdong’s home, and threatened that three generations in his family would not be allowed to enroll in college.
The village accountant went to Ms. Fang Zongjuan’s home to make audio and video recordings. They also went to the homes of practitioners Zhaosheng and Shuli (their genders are unknown) and harassed them.
Peng Qinghua, the deputy secretary of the County Political and Legal Committee and director of the 610 Office, and Wang Feng, Party secretary of Netie Village, Qianling Town, and others went to Mr. Peng Xiuquan’s home on November 23, 2021. One person gave Peng Qinghua several thousand yuan, and Peng Qinghua handed it to Mr. Peng, saying that they were here because they cared about him. Mr. Peng refused to take the money.
At 11:40 a.m. on November 25, Peng Qinghua and others went to Mr. Peng’s home again. Mr. Peng’s son sternly asked, “You have come to my home time and again to look for my dad. Why?” They said, “We are here to understand the situation.” Mr. Peng’s son said, “What do you want to know? When my father fell and injured his head, why didn’t you come to see him then? Now that he is completely recovered by practicing Falun Gong, you won’t stop bothering us.” The people were speechless. Peng Qinghua took out his cell phone and tried to photograph Mr. Peng, but Mr. Peng stopped him.
Starting in November 2, 2021, the Dezhou police led Pingyuan County Domestic Security officers and personnel from related organizations to continuously harass and persecute practitioners in Pingyuan County. It was reported that in addition to the previously reported nine Falun Gong practitioners, including Cao Xiaoyan, Li Xiaoxia, Qin Lanxiang, Yu Yongping, and Li Baolin (genders of the four practitioners are unknown), who were arrested and their homes ransacked, the following Falun Gong practitioners were also arrested or otherwise harassed.
On the afternoon of November 4, Mr. Liu Shanyou, of Zaogunliu Village, was arrested and his home was ransacked. He was taken to the Pingyuan County Police Department.
On the evening of November 4, the police ransacked the homes of practitioners Chen and Ran (their first names and genders are unknown) in Wangmiao Village and confiscated their Falun Gong books. The police did not leave until late at night.
Around November 4, the police arrested Mr. Zhao Hongru, a doctor of Chinese medicine, in Zhaozhuang Village, Encheng Town, and ransacked his home. Mr. Zhao has since returned home.
Now, the Pingyuan police continued to go to Ms. Huo Shuqin’s home. They knocked on her door in Dufu Garden on various occasions, which resulted Ms. Huo’s having to leave home and she is as yet unable to return home.
Practitioners Cao, Li, Qin, and Yu, who were among the nine practitioners reported earlier, are still being held in custody.
Ms. Tang Xueying, who lives in the Shizhuyuan area, was arrested and taken to the Tiziling Detention Center by officers from the Bailutang Police Station around November 11, 2021. Ms. Zeng Qinling was also held there. It was reported that she is on a hunger strike again to protest the persecution.
Every time a practitioner’s home was ransacked and every time a practitioner was arrested, deputy director Hou Jindong of the Bailutang Police Station was in charge of carrying it out.
Hou also went to Chenzhou Computer City on numerous occasions to examine transaction records of sales of printers, computers, and supplies, in order to bring up more charges against practitioners.
Recently, many Falun Gong practitioners in the Shizhuyuan area have been harassed, intimidated, and threatened repeatedly. The police put pressure on them to write the three statements as part of the “Zero-out” campaign.
The officials also threatened and coaxed practitioners’ families into persuading their practitioner family members to sign the paperwork. Practitioners known to have been harassed include:
Liu Maozhen, Fu Qiaoying, Tang Jiangnan, and Chen Shaoqing, who are in their 80s;He Yingkui, who is in his or her 70s;Tang Dongshu and Mao Xiaoying, who are in their 60s.
Ms. Tang Tianmin, in her 60s, from the Naxi District, was arrested by officers from the Naxi District Police Department around November 20, 2021, and has not returned home yet. It is not clear why she was arrested or where she is being held.
Personnel from the Erqi Road Residential Committee called Mr. Wang Chao on the afternoon of November 17, 2021, and asked him to go to the committee office to take pictures. On the afternoon of November 25, another person who claimed to be from the Nanming District Police Department also called and asked about his current residential address.
An officer from the Zhenan District Procuratorate in Dandong City called Ms. He Ping in recent days and asked her to go there. Ms. He did not go.
Ms. Yan Shuyun was also harassed. Ms. Yan was previously arrested by several officers from the Fengshan Police Department in November 2020.
Ms. He’s home was ransacked. Both Ms. He and Ms. Yan were later released on bail. The two practitioners were again harassed recently, and their cases have been filed for prosecution.
Zhang Wenda, director of the Nanshan Police Station, led officer Li and others to Ms. Dai Yaoqi’s home on the morning of November 26, 2021.
They entered the home, rummaged through the closets, and took away two small audio players, which contained sound cards with lectures given by Falun Gong’s founder, and sound cards of practitioners’ cultivation experiences. When the officers left, they wrote down the phone number of Ms. Dai’s husband.
They called Ms. Dai’s husband that afternoon and told him that they would go to their home one more time. They also told him to tell Ms. Dai to phone the police station. Ms. Dai refused.
