(Minghui.org) Three residents of Guangdong Province were recently confirmed to have been sentenced for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Tang Yanlan, 49, of Jiangmen City, was arrested and had her home ransacked on April 22, 2019. The police suspected her of buying printing paper to produce Falun Gong informational materials at home. She was detained at the Jiangmen City Detention Center. Her detention left her three children unattended.
In September 2020, Ms. Tang was sentenced to five years and fined 10,000 yuan by the Pengjiang District Court.
Ms. Tang was previously arrested in May 2015 and detained for three months.
She was arrested again on July 5, 2017. The police knocked on the door for eight minutes. When she refused to open up, they smashed her door and broke in. In front of her three children, another practitioner in her 80s, and Ms. Tang’s sister, the police ransacked her home.
When the elderly practitioner asked if the police had a search warrant, one officer quickly took out a piece of paper that he claimed to be the warrant and put it back without letting them read it.
The officers searched Ms. Tang’s home for more than an hour. Over 40 of her Falun Gong books, two dozen booklets, dozens of posters, a printer, several cellphones, and two tablets were confiscated. The police photographed Ms. Tang, handcuffed her, and took her away. She was released around July 21.
Mr. Huang Rixin, a 47-year-old small business owner in Dongguan City, was arrested on July 29, 2019, after being reported for talking to an interviewee about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to three years and fined 30,000 yuan by the Dongguan City No.2 Court on February 26, 2020.
Mr. Huang’s latest arrest came only one month after he was released on June 18 from serving a year and a half. He’s been sentenced for the same reason by the same court on July 6, 2018.
Mr. Fan Lin, a 68-year-old Shenzhen City resident, was arrested on December 18, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He was sentenced to two years and fined 3,000 yuan by the Nanshan District Court on December 10, 2020.
