(Minghui.org) Four Dengta City, Liaoning Province residents are facing prosecution and one is awaiting a verdict for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Four Face Prosecution
Three practitioners surnamed Dai, Wang and Dai were arrested on July 13, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong the day before. The police ransacked their homes and released them on bail.
The Dengta City Police Department submitted the three practitioners’ cases to the Dengta City Procuratorate on September 29, 2020. The prosecutor Hu Yanfen indicted them on October 28 and moved their cases to the Dengta City Court.
A fourth practitioner, Ms. Liu Aihua, 60, was arrested on January 12, 2021 after being followed by the police. Her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. She is now held at the Liaoyang County Detention Center. The Dengtai City Procuratorate has approved her arrest on January 29.
One Awaits Verdict
Mr. Wang Hongxu was arrested outside of his apartment at around 4 p.m. on September 14, 2020. The police confiscated a Falun Gong book, a calendar with information about Falun Gong, and other Falun Gong keepsakes from him.
The police kept him at the police department overnight and interrogated him the next day. After a physical examination, Mr. Wang was taken to the Liaoyang City Detention Center, only to be rejected admission due to high blood pressure and then he was released.
The prosecutor Hu Yanfen held a meeting with him on October 22 and indicted him on November 3. Mr. Wang stood trial on November 16 and is now awaiting the verdict.
