(Minghui.org) Ms. Deng was arrested and sent to prison for speaking to others about how Falun Gong is wrongfully persecuted in China. While in prison, Ms. Deng was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. The cancer spread to her abdomen and she was sent to a local hospital for treatment.
Another practitioner and I went to visit Ms. Deng, however, we were in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, so visitation was not allowed. Ms. Deng’s husband sobbed, “She has only one month to live.”
I wanted to have Ms. Deng stay with me for a while. My husband objected at first, “It is what it is, what’s the use of her staying with us? What if…” I said, “It will be alright, don’t we have Master? We have to help our fellow practitioner in need.” He did not say another word.
Ms. Deng’s condition was critical. The attending physician tried to convince Ms. Deng’s daughter to take her mother home. We also talked to Ms. Deng’s daughter about it. She appeared to have no intention of doing so. Just when we were about to lose hope, we heard the news that Ms. Deng went home.
In my memory, Ms. Deng was an elegant lady. When we finally saw her, sitting in front of me was a thin, frail, wrinkly looking elderly woman. Her hair had turned white. Her belly was distended with the accumulation of fluid. I was sad.
With her family’s permission, I brought Ms. Deng to my home. Her righteous thoughts were strong. She walked up several flights of stairs to my apartment without help.
After a brief rest, we began to study the Fa. It was 11 p.m. by the time we finished. Ms. Deng said she had been having difficulty falling asleep for a long time, but she now felt tired and wanted to sleep. She soon fell asleep and I sat next to her sending forth righteous thoughts. My body was engulfed with energy. My head was clear. I was not tired nor sleepy. I did not lay down until after midnight.
I discussed Ms. Deng’s diagnosis with her truthfully, “You are like an athlete racing to the finish line, it is entirely up to you whether you can make it or how long it takes you to make it. The only thing I can do for you is to cheer you on as I stay by your side. You must treasure Master’s compassion, study the Fa, and use your righteous thoughts to overcome this.” I reminded my fellow practitioner that Master said:
“When disciples have ample righteous thoughts Master has the power to turn back the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond,” Hong Yin II)
Ms. Deng did not practice Falun Gong long compared to some other practitioners, but she had suffered several years of persecution. Without a cultivation environment for quite a while, her sentimentality sometimes surfaced. However, her desire to improve herself within the Fa was genuine. Furthermore, she had strong self-discipline.
With Master’s help, Ms. Deng’s improvements each day were noticeable. The night she arrived at my apartment, she was able to control her urine. Two days later, her severe constipation went away. On the fourth day, the edema in her body began to diminish, and her abdominal swelling decreased appreciably.
On the morning of her fifth day at my home, after morning exercise, Ms. Deng took a shower by herself for the first time. She washed her dirty clothes afterwards, as well as a shirt my husband left near the tub. Ms. Deng felt happy. She told me her body felt light, as if she had never been sick before. She encouraged my husband to be more diligent in cultivation. My husband was happy for Ms. Deng, “Look how excited she is!”
The second time Ms. Deng’s daughter came to visit, she saw the enormous change in her mother, “This is amazing!”
That’s right, Dafa is amazing! However, countless people listened and believed the lies told by the Chinese Communist Party about Falun Gong. They would lose their chance to be saved. I hope people can use a clear conscience to judge between what is right and what is wrong. I hope they can be kind to Falun Gong practitioners and one day be saved by Dafa.
