Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province: 16 Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in One Day

(Minghui.org) Hundreds of police officers were dispatched to Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province to arrest at least 16 Falun Gong practitioners on June 2, 2021.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

In addition to the officers from the Jiaozhou City Police Department, the local Yunxi Police Station, Zhongyun Police Station, Sanlihe Police Station, Fuan Police Station, and Licha Police Station also took part in the arrests.

Eleven practitioners remain detained at the time of writing. One practitioner’s husband was arrested days later, becoming the 17th confirmed victim.

Below are details of the June 2 arrests.

Ms. Gao Xiue was arrested and had her home ransacked at around 11 a.m. She was detained at the Puji Police Station.

At around 3 p.m., another two practitioners, Mr. Huang Yuqiang and Mr. Ji Jinmu, were arrested when visiting Ms. Gao. Mr. Ji’s home was also ransacked. He was detained at the Zhongyun Police Station. Mr. Huang was taken to a detention facility in Chengyang District on June 3.

Ms. Song Jihua was arrested in the afternoon, had her home ransacked and was taken to the Ducun Police Station. She has been released on bail.

Ms. Wang Ruilian and Ms. Wang Ruilan were arrested at around 5 p.m. Their laptops and printers were confiscated. They have since been released.

Ms. Jiao Qing’e was arrested and had her home ransacked in the afternoon. Her husband, also a Falun Gong practitioner, escaped arrest as he was working out of town when the police arrived.

Other arrested practitioners include Ms. Chen, Ms. Zhang Meixiang, Ms. Ji Hong, Mr. Gao Kaihua, Mr. Song Xinjian, Ms. Song Guiqin, Mr. Zhuang Zuojie, Ms. Zhao Youqin and Mr. Yu Baiqing. 

Among them, Ms. Song Guiqin and Mr. Zhuang have been released. Ms. Zhao was detained at the Zhongyun Police Station. Mr. Yu was held at the Beiguan Police Station.

Ms. Chen’s husband, Mr. Xu Yanzhong, was arrested days later.
