(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 52 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jinying Faces Court Trial

Ms. Zhang Jinying received a call from the Kuiwen Court on June 25, 2021. She was told to be present in court with her resident ID. She went there on June 28, 2021, and received a court summons. She will be tried in court at 9 a.m. on July 15, 2021. She was told to sign a document, which she refused.

2. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Degui Harassed

Ms. Wang Degui was harassed three times in May 2021. 

Gao Surong from the Hedong Community office and Ma Yan from the Dongcheng Sub-district office told Ms. Wang’s daughter that her mother needed to stop at the community office to sign a guarantee statement. 

Later, Gao Surong and Ma Yan went to Ms. Wang’s home and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement. She refused.

Then two police officers came to Ms. Wang’s home and photographed her. 

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Xiaoran Harassed

Ms. Xu Xiaoran received a harassing call from the Kuancheng Police Station. She was pressured to sign the three statements. 

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Zheng Qinghua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zheng Qinghua from the Ninghe District was arrested in her workplace – Huaiding Elementary School on June 13, 2021. She was taken to the Baodi District Detention Center on June 22, 2021.

5. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Fangling from Yanqing Town of Yanqing District was arrested in Yongning Town on the evening of June 27, 2021. Her home was ransacked the next day. 

Twelve officers from the Mulin Police Station in the Shunyi District went to Ms. Wang Surong’s home on June 27, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings including a photo of Falun Gong's founder, three posters with Falun emblems, more than 40 Falun Gong books, and other items. Ms. Wang was taken to the police station. She is now detained in a detention center. 

Ms. Yang Yulan from Yanqing Town in the Yanqing District was arrested on May 24, 2021. She was detained for one month and was released on June 24, 2021. She is now placed under residential surveillance. 

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Several practitioners including Yang Peijun (gender unknown), Ms. Sha Jinghua, Ms. Sha Xueshuang, and Ms. Xia Shuzhen have been harassed by officers from the Dalianwan Police Station since May 2021.

The officers went to Yang Peijun’s home with the excuse to check the fire escape but then started to ask whether Yang still practiced Falun Gong. The officers also took some photos and asked for Yang’s cell phone number, which Yang refused to give them. 

The officers went to Ms. Sha Jinghua’s home. Her daughter was at home. The officers took a photo of her daughter and then left. A few days later, they came again but no one opened the door for them. 

The officers stopped at Ms. Sha Xueshang’s home but no one opened the door for them. 

The officers went to Ms. Xia Shuzhen’s home three times. They did not get inside the first two times. Ms. Xia’s son opened the door for them when they came the third time. Ms. Xia refused to let them in or to let them take her photo. They talked to her son outside and told him to stop his mother from going out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. 

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Xu Liansheng Harassed at Railway Station 

Xu Liansheng (gender unknown) was about to travel by train with family members. While waiting in the waiting room of Changchun Railway Station, Xu was body searched. The police found truth-clarifying cards and paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts. Xu was prohibited from traveling and his/her home was ransacked. Xu's Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer were confiscated. 

8. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Ling Harassed

Ms. Ma Ling was harassed at home by two persons from the Chengshan Town government on June 19, 2021. They entered her home and immediately began photographing the place. They asked whether she had a computer, printer, or Internet. They told Ms. Ma that she could do the exercises or study the Fa at home as long as she did not go out to distribute flyers. They pressured Ms. Ma to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused.

9. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Zhuangyuan Police Station harassed several practitioners including Zhang Guiling, Sun Yujuan, Li Zhenfeng, and Gao Weihua in mid-to-late June 2021. They called the practitioners or their family members and told them to go to the police station to sign a guarantee statement. No one cooperated with them.

10. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Lixin Arrested

Mr. Song Lixin from Ci County was arrested in his workplace on the morning of June 29, 2021. 

11. [Beijing] Seven Practitioners Arrested or Detained

Four practitioners from the Yanqing District including Ms. Yang Jingxia, her husband Mr. Han Shimin, Ms. Wu Fangling, and Mr. Guo Jinshan were arrested on June 26, 2021. Mr. Han Shimin and Mr. Guo Jinshan were detained in the Yanqing Detention House. 

Three practitioners including Ms. Song Mizhi, Mr. Liu Jun, and Mr. Sun Zhigang were arrested on June 27, 2021.

12. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huo Shouchun Harassed

Ms. Huo Shouchun was harassed at home by village officials, town officials, and police officers from the Panzhuang Town Police Station on the morning of June 29, 2021. One of the officers turned on his body camera to record the conversation. They asked whether Ms. Huo still practiced Falun Gong. They removed the poster on the wall which had the words, “Falun Dafa is good” and the wall calendar and insisted that they should not be displayed.

13. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Lu Shuhua Persecuted

Ms. Lu Shuhua, 79, was caught on a surveillance camera when she distributed truth-clarifying materials in December 2020. She was arrested at home by officers from the Muye Police Department. She was denied admission by the Xinxiang Detention Center because of her poor health and was placed under residential surveillance on December 4, 2020. 

Her state of “residential surveillance” was lifted on May 3, 2021, but she was placed under bail pending trial. 

14. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested 

Five practitioners were reading Zhuam Falun together in a practitioner’s home when officers from the Baizhai Township Police Station came on June 27, 2021. They arrested the five practitioners: Mr. Zhang Junjiang, Ms. Song Fengju, Ms. Guo Lianxiang, Li Judi (gender unknown), and Wei Zhenlin (gender unknown). Wei Zhenlin returned home on June 28, 2021. Ms. Guo Lianxiang and Li Judi are detained in the Situan Detention Center in Quzhou County. Mr. Zhang Junjiang and his wife Ms. Song Fengju are still detained in the basement of the police department.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Case against Ms. Du Guizhen Submitted to Court

Ms. Du Guizhen was arrested by local police in September 2020. She was later arrested a few times. Her home was ransacked. Her case has been submitted to the court. 

16. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Zongshun Harassed

Mr. Liu Zongshun, 81, was harassed at home by village official Liu Longhua and a plainclothes police officer around 8 p.m. on May 30, 2021. When Mr. Liu Zongshun walked to the gate to open it, he noticed the light on the policeman's body camera, which was recording him.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Harassed 

Ms. Ma Lingxi, her husband Mr. Shan Xiqing, and Mr. Shan Zhenquan have been harassed at home by the Xili Town 610 Office, local police officers, and village official Li Min since June 21, 2021. They were pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they refused. Li Min tricked the daughter of Ms. Ma Lingxi and the son of Mr. Shan Zhenquan and made them sign the guarantee statements on behalf of their parents. 

18. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested 

Mr. Liu Zhaoqing, Sun Peiying (gender unknown), Ms. Ma Shuyan, Ms. Chi Guilan, and Ms. Chen Xiulan, were arrested by patrol officers at the gate of Wang Jinmei Martyrs’ Cemetery on June 29, 2021. 

19. [Beijing] Practitioner Xiang Harassed

Xiang (first name and gender unknown) lives in the Yangguangjiayuan Community in Miyun District. Xiang was harassed and threatened at home by local police officers and local community staff members around June 20, 2021. 

20. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Shuhua Harassed

Ms. Song Shuhua's son was called back from Beijing by the Yongyang Town Police Station for investigation on June 26, 2021. Her son was threatened in the police station. His home was ransacked on the morning of June 28, 2021.

21. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Weidong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Weidong was arrested at home by four Domestic Security Division officers around 10 a.m., June 29, 2021. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated including two computers, one printer, three boxes of printing paper, forty Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong's founder, peace cards, and cash. Ms. Li was first detained in the Qingzhou City Detention Center and later transferred to the Weifang City Detention Center. 

22. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Wenhong Harassed

Wei Ling from the Zaoqiang County Supply and Marketing Cooperative went to Ms. Xu Wenhong’s home several days ago. Ms. Xu was not at home. Her husband was told to tell Ms. Xu to stop by the Supply and Marketing Cooperative. When Ms. Xu went there, she was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. 

Ms. Xu’s daughter works in the Zaoqiang County Chinese Medicine Hospital. She received a call from a police officer and was told to stop by the police station. She said she was not in the county and could not go. 

23. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Shufang Harassed

Ms. Liu Shufang was taking care of her husband who was sick and hospitalized when two officers and a community staff member came to find her on June 22, 2021. They asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong. She said yes and told them she would not be alive if she did not practice. She used to be sick but now she was healthy and was even able to take care of her husband. 

24. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Xiumin Persecuted

Ms. Zhao Xiumin, 76, was sentenced to two years in prison by the Hongqiao District Court in 2017. After she was released, her pension was suspended. 

Ms. Zhao has been harassed multiple times since April 2021. She has received seven or eight harassing phone calls and was harassed at home several times. Once six officers and local community staff members went to her home and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. Two people went to her home to take photos of her and video record the place. In May 2021, three or four people went to her home to harass her.

25. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiu Yuanjin Harassed 

Two officers from the Fu’an Police Station went to Mr. Qiu Yuanjin’s home at the end of May 2021. They asked whether he still practiced Falun Gong and videotaped him. A few days ago, a police officer went to his home again but Mr. Qiu was not at home. His mother was harassed at her home by police around March 2021. 

26. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Delan Harassed

Ms. Lu Delan from Fushan Town was harassed at her home by people from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office before May 13, 2021. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. Within a month, she has been harassed at her home four or five times. Even her daughter was harassed at her workplace. 

27. [Yuzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Ma Juan Arrested

Ms. Ma Juan was arrested by people from the Yuzhou City 610 Office on June 17, 2021. Her husband had to stay at home to take care of their three young children. Now the family has no income. 

28. [Botou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Bin Persecuted

Mr. Li Bin was arrested by officer Cui Yanhong from the Hedong Police Station and officers from Henan Province on April 28, 2021. He was detained in the Anyang Detention Center in Henan Province. His younger brother and his defense lawyer went to visit him in the Anyang Detention Center but were not allowed to see him. 

Two officers from the Hedong Police Station in Botou City went to Mr. Li’s home to harass his wife on June 25, 2021.
