(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Vancouver held a rally and parade on July 17, 2021, to remind people that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) continues to persecute practitioners in China. They called on people to help stop this genocidal persecution, which has gone on for 22 years.

Marking 22 years of peacefully resisting the persecution, Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally and parade in Vancouver’s city center on July 17, 2021.

Escorted by police cars the parade started from the Vancouver Art Gallery and passed through several streets. As the Tian Guo Marching Band's music filled the air, several people stopped to watch, take photos and video recordings. Passersby gave practitioners a thumbs up while drivers honked their horns to show their support.

Practitioners held banners containing messages: “Falun Dafa Is Good.” “Help Stop Persecution of Falun Dafa in China”, “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance”, “Disintegrate the CCP and Stop the Persecution”, “The Ultimate Goal of Communism is to Destroy Humanity”, “Quit the Chinese Communist Party”.

Vancouver Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Ms. Zhang Su addressed the rally and said, “Falun Dafa is renowned worldwide. It is a spiritual practice that abides by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. However, practitioners have been brutally persecuted for 22 years and the CCP has committed genocide. In order to hide their crimes, the CCP coerce Western countries with monetary compensations and silenced the international society so they don't address the persecution. The international society is now awake to how evil the CCP is and we are calling on the Canadian government to request the CCP release illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

Ms. Fang, Chair of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP in Vancouver, said, “More than 380 million people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. This pandemic has shown the world how evil the CCP is. The CCP also suppresses young men and women in Hong Kong. It also conducts forced live organ harvesting of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Quitting the Chinese Communist Party and its youth organizations surpasses all ethnicities, political parties and all religions as it targets the true nature of a human being, where one makes a choice and distinguishes good from evil.”

Dennis Watson, a well-known social media blogger, thanked practitioners for their perseverance.

Dennis Watson, a well-known social media blogger, spoke at the rally and said, “As the saying goes, the key to victory in a game is often not how strong or agile you are, but a contest of perseverance. Today marks the 22^nd year of practitioners resisting the persecution. Thank you for your perseverance.” He continued, “The CCP tried to isolate Falun Dafa and slandered it. It only resulted in more organizations standing up for Falun Dafa. People all over the world are staying away from communism and fighting against it because they have seen the consequences of those listening to its lies.”

Mr. Watson said, “Practitioners are of high moral values and they are peacefully protesting by holding up banners and poster boards. I salute and stand with you.”

Persecution Still Ongoing

Ms. Alice Zhang spoke at the rally and requested the CCP to release her mother Tang Huafeng. Ms. Tang was arrested on June 12, 2021, while clarifying the truth. She was illegally detained for 15 days and was then transferred to a detention center in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. She has been detained there ever since. 

Alice said that her mother was sentenced to three years and six months in 2015. During that time Ms. Tang fell into a coma and had a heart attack. “The Chinese government not only deprived her of her legal civil rights to freedom of belief and freedom of expression but also refused to give her the pension she deserved for being a teacher for more than 30 years.”

Du Huiqing, who is 94 years old, came to the rally in a wheelchair to help rescue her daughter Yang Jinyan from the CCP’s persecution.

Ms. Yang was reported to the local authorities for practicing Falun Dafa at home on April 21, 2019. Police from Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province ransacked her house and arrested Ms. Yang. She was placed on trial for her belief and was sentenced to 3 years on December 12, 2020. She was sent to Guangdong Province Women’s Prison at the end of 2020.

Ms. Du said, “Yang Jinyan is a very kind and dutiful daughter. She has gone through a lot during these past 20 years just because she practices Falun Dafa. My husband passed away at the age of 93 in 2018 and my daughter was not even allowed to see her father for the last time. She was not allowed to have visitors in prison and I am worried for her day and night. I miss her very much.”

Young Man: Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Beneficial to Society

Eric from the Philippines said that he does not understand why the CCP suppresses Falun Dafa practitioners. He did some research online in regards to forced live organ harvesting. He also passed by the Friendly Torch Square in Miami and joined practitioners in practicing the exercises there. He felt that the exercises are beneficial to one’s body and mind. “I felt changes in my body when I practiced the exercises.” He also said that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is beneficial to society.

Taiwanese Couple: Falun Dafa Practitioners are Remarkably Brave

Mr. Zhou Dengyao and Ms. Li Huizhi quietly watched the parade and said, “Falun Dafa practitioners are remarkably brave and extraordinary. Despite the persecution, they still persist in peacefully resisting it and face the CCP's evil authoritarian regime.”

Ms. Li Huizhi said, “The moral standards of people in China are rapidly declining under the CCP regime.”

Mr. Zhou and Ms. Li praised Falun Dafa practitioners from the bottom of their hearts for their religious beliefs and spiritual pursuits regardless of the ongoing evil persecution and forced live organ harvesting. 

Mr. Zhou said, “Falun Dafa practitioners will be respected by the people of the world!” Ms. Li also said that practitioners are doing something remarkable by standing up for justice and the good. 

Mr. Zhou and Ms. Li are both from Taipei, Taiwan. She said that not only does the CCP harm Chinese people, it also threatens Taiwan and the whole world.

People of All Races Call for an End to the Persecution

After learning about the persecution, Nick and Vicky said that the march was very peaceful and informative.

When they learned about the ongoing persecution, both of them expressed their support in ending it. “We will support Falun Dafa, this is something we should do.”

Noemi, from South America, said that she liked the parade and supports Falun Dafa. She said, “We should have spiritual freedom. People should not be killed for their faith, they need freedom of belief and thought.” She also said, “Activities like this are very important and people can show more support and be more alert.”

A resident from Winnipeg, Manitoba Province said, “In Canada, Section 2(a) of the Charter protects your freedom to hold and practice your religious beliefs. Holding this parade and rally displays Canada’s values and principles. I support this kind of movement.”
