(Minghui.org) A Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia resident serving six years for practicing Falun Gong has become incapacitated while in custody.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Gao Xiaofang was arrested at home on June 17, 2019, by police in Chifeng and Liaoning Province, who deceived her into opening the door by claiming they were there to conduct a census. Ms. Gao’s husband was also arrested, but he was released four hours later.
The police claimed that they arrested Ms. Gao because she was reported for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in a town in Liaoning Province in early 2015. They didn’t explain why they didn’t arrest Ms. Gao back then but waited four years to do so.
Ms. Gao was detained at the Chaoyang City Detention Center in Liaoning Province (about 100 miles from Chifeng) following her arrest. She was later sentenced to six years. Her family recently learned from an insider that her health declined quickly while in custody and she has become incapacitated. It’s not clear whether she has been taken to the hospital or she remains at the detention center.
