(Minghui.org) After reading the Minghui Editorial “Do Not Change the Nature of Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts,” I gained a new understanding of sending righteous thoughts through looking inward and discussing with fellow practitioners.　

When Master first asked us to send righteous thoughts, I was being held in a forced labor camp for upholding my faith. As a result, I attached great importance to it and felt that sending righteous thoughts did reduce the intensity of the persecution. But because I could not feel anything, I failed to do it well at all times.

During a recent group Fa study, a fellow practitioner passed around a note he’d received in his email. It said, “Please help Hong Kong and Macau by sending righteous thoughts urgently.” The sender was the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association. The last line, which was in bold, said, “Send righteous thoughts: Eliminate all the evil that undermines Dafa disciples’ efforts in Hong Kong and Macau to assist Master in Fa-rectification and save sentient beings, leaving nothing behind!”

After seeing this, everyone seemed to think it was okay and that we should cooperate. They took a few copies of the note and passed them to other practitioners they had contact with.

When I got home, I remembered that I should send righteous thoughts about the situation in Hong Kong, so I found the note and read it again. Before I started, I happened to see the above-mentioned Minghui editorial. I immediately read it and thought a great deal about it.

Over the years, we were often asked to send righteous thoughts for different things here and there. No one has ever questioned anything about it, and we have become accustomed to it.

Precisely because we’d gotten used to sending forth righteous thoughts that way, we got a special reminder from the Minghui Editorial. So why didn’t I see a problem with it in the first place? Where was the gap in this aspect of my cultivation?

It was that I did not view it and evaluate it with the standard of Fa because I was used to it. Because others asked, I just followed suit. I used “everyone does it” as the standard instead of the Fa teachings. I did not put the Fa in the first place and that was my gap.

I found the Minghui Editorial “The Essentials to Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts and the Schedule for Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts at Set Times Around the World (Update 2)” and studied it again. If we should not change the essentials to sending forth righteous thoughts, then what are the essentials?

From the Minghui Editorial, it said the following: “Eradicate all evil that damages Dafa, disintegrating all of the dark minions and rotten demons, destroying all elements of the Communist evil specter and all of its evil factors of the Chinese Communist Party in other dimensions, encompassing all of it and leaving out none.”

In the recent note from Hong Kong, it went like this: “Eliminate all the evil that undermines Dafa disciples’ efforts in Hong Kong and Macau to assist Master in Fa-rectification and save sentient beings, leaving nothing behind!”

It was only a difference of a few words, but the former is Master’s Fa and the latter is not. The difference is huge. It did not contain the essentials for sending forth righteous thoughts taught by Master, it changed them. If this happens on a large scale, then isn’t that a big problem?

I understand that sending righteous thoughts to eradicate all evil that damages Dafa is the mission and responsibility of each one of us Dafa disciples, regardless of who we are helping. When we send righteous thoughts, we mobilize the supernatural power that we have cultivated to directly eliminate all evil that damages Dafa in another dimension. However, these are the abilities bestowed upon us by our great Master. Only when we are in line with Dafa can we mobilize our supernatural power.

So how do we mobilize our righteous thoughts? By reciting the Fa-rectification verses taught by Master, we are given the ability to mobilize our supernatural power to eradicate evil that damages Dafa. That supernatural power is completely assimilated to Dafa and it is also bestowed by Master. It, of course, can eliminate those that should be eradicated.

In a special situation like what is going on in Hong Kong currently, as long as we know it and have that thought, when we send forth righteous thoughts, the cultivated part of us will know what to do. It can truly encompass all of it and leave out nothing. When we change things on the human side, we don’t only change the essentials of sending forth righteous thoughts, we also interfere with and inhibit the part that we’ve cultivated and prevent it from working well.

This is my current understanding. Please kindly point out shortcomings.
