The Power of Dafa

(Minghui.org) We have a liquid crystal (LCD) television that had not been working for over a month. We purchased the TV to watch NTD television broadcasts, but the building in front of our home blocked the satellite signal so we couldn’t watch NTD. My daughter started watching cartoons on it every day after school.

My daughter has benefited from Dafa since she was a child. She loved to watch Dafa practitioners’ programs and cultivation stories with other practitioners’ families. But when she went to elementary school, she became polluted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

I talked with her about this indulgence and told her it wasn’t good for her. She didn’t want to hear it and just kept watching cartoons. I was troubled. I looked within and discovered I had the attachment of sentimentality for my daughter. I knew her behavior was geared to hit on my attachment.

One holiday, my daughter watched ordinary people’s TV all day long. The TV broke the next day. I felt good about it because now she had no way to watch it anymore.

Another practitioner brought over some Dafa DVDs truth two weeks ago. I wanted to see what was on them, but then I remembered the TV was not working. How could I watch them? Then I thought about the fact that the TV set was also a life, and that it was here for Dafa.

I remembered when the washing machine broke two months ago, I talked to it and asked it to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I said it should assimilate with Dafa and that it would have a good future. I stood next to the washer, touched it fondly, and repeated “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” several times. When I tried to wash clothes, the washer worked just fine.

Now the TV was broken, but it was also a life to be saved. When I told my husband and daughter about the washing machine, my husband thought it was just a coincidence.

With my husband and daughter watching, I wiped the TV clean and inserted the DVD. I put my hands on it and spoke those same special nine words. I asked it to work again so it could help spread more truth about Dafa and save more people. My husband chuckled at my behavior, but I continued to talk to the TV. I kept asking it to work again.

When I finished talking to the TV, it still did not work. I looked within and reminded myself to not be attached to results or to showing off. When I tried to turn the TV on again, the screen flashed once and went black.

My husband was surprised. He is good with electronic equipment and tried to fix the TV, but he got nowhere. I knew the TV was trying to repair itself and assimilate with Dafa, so I continued to recite the nine special words.

The third time I turned on the TV, it worked. Tears covered my face and I repeatedly thanked Master.

My daughter said to her father, “See how moved Mother is.” Both of them believed in the wonder of Dafa. My husband told her, “Don’t watch those cartoons anymore—they aren’t healthy. Just watch programs made by Dafa practitioners.”

Master said in a lecture in 2004,

“... in Fa-rectification, regardless of whether you're an animal, plant, or any kind of thing, I just look at your attitude toward Dafa. For those who are positive toward Dafa, I can resolve everything.” (Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students)
