My Thoughts on the CCP’s “Zero-Out Campaign:” If Our Righteous Thoughts Are Strong, the Evil Will Become Weak

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been carrying out its “Zero-Out Campaign” targeting practitioners for over a year, and many practitioners in my area have been harassed. Now, however, we can see that the evil factors manipulating the police are exhausted, and their voices are no longer as strident.

But the situation varies with each region. When the police harass practitioners they say, “If you don’t write the three statements, you will be sent to a brainwashing center. If you don’t ‘transform’ while you are there, you will be sent to a detention center. If you still refuse to be ‘transformed,’ then you will be sentenced and continue to be ‘educated’ (brainwashed).” They also threaten practitioners with having their salaries suspended or the loss of their jobs. They threaten their children and grandchildren’s futures and tell practitioners that their relatives won’t be able to join the army or apply for colleges or universities.

Some practitioners are afraid when faced with this escalated persecution and may wonder, “Can we pass these tests? I’ll write the ‘three statements’ even though I don’t want to, and then I’ll write a solemn declaration and renounce it afterward.”

Don’t Get Confused

Fellow practitioners, please don’t become muddle-headed! When you listened to the police, did you remember what Master said? Did you remember you are a Dafa disciple and remember what we should do? What the CCP police say doesn’t count, their words are just an empty show of strength to screw up their own courage. This is a trap—don’t fall into it. If you do, you will regret it.

I personally believe that when we first heard about the “Zero-Out Campaign” and that it was escalating, we were being tested. We should be clear on two points: We should ask ourselves if we 100% believe in Dafa. Have we reached the realm that Master mentioned--that we will continue meditating even if our head is chopped off? If we have really reached that realm, we can smile and easily pass the test.

The second point is, we should ask ourselves if we are doing personal cultivation or can we remember that we’re cultivating during the Fa-rectification? If we’re doing personal cultivation, then we will measure things with a human heart and be afraid. We will retreat, or even sign the three statements, against our will. In that case, we will fall for the evil’s trap, and the old forces will think we are not qualified and arrange for even more severe persecution.

I feel that the more intimidated one is, the more likely you’ll hear the police officers’ threatening words. The more attention you pay to the spread of the “Zero-Out Campaign,” the more tightly the police can control you. We know from experience that the persecution targets practitioners with attachments.

A local practitioner who was recently released from prison said, “I didn’t want to be ‘transformed’, but when the guards ordered over ten inmates to stand for long hours because of me and deprived them of sleep, too, I didn’t want them to hate Dafa, so I signed.”

Faced with the same situation, different reactions can bring different results.

Another practitioner firmly refused to cooperate with the evil in the prison in any way. She refused to do slave labor and just kept on reciting the Fa, transcribing the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts, and writing truth-clarification letters to the guards. Since she had no fear even of being tortured to death, the guards had no way to “transform” her. After she was released, the 610 Office discovered that she had never been “transformed,” so they sent her to a brainwashing center again.

She told the head of the 610 Office, “If you try to ‘transform’ me, I will go on a hunger strike. If I die, you will be responsible!” Then she began her hunger strike. Afraid of what might happen, the brainwashing center authorities let her go home two days later.

When our righteous thoughts are really strong and we can truly let go of our attachments to fame, self-interest, and emotion—and also to life and death—the evil has nothing to use against us.

The Persecution Exposes Our Loopholes 　

The CCP’s harassment exactly targets our loopholes. A few years ago an unmarried male practitioner was sent to a brainwashing center. The head of the 610 Office assigned a female “monitor” to be in charge of “transforming” him. The female monitor was so gentle and kind that he was greatly touched.

The head of the 610 Office took the chance to persuade him, “See, she is an unmarried young lady. Why are you still here? Just ‘transform!’ After you sign, I will make arrangements for you two. You can leave together and go build a happy life together!” But after he was “transformed,” he waited for a long time. Nothing happened. Later, he heard that the woman was “transforming” other male practitioners using the same trick. Didn’t he become dizzy with sentimentality and lust?

One practitioner who was over 80 years old bravely walked up and grabbed Master’s portrait when the police officers who were searching his home were about to take it away. He exclaimed, “Why are you taking this? This is more important than my life!” The officers were awe-struck by his courage and left.

In no uncertain terms, another elderly practitioner told the police when they were about to grab Master’s portrait off the wall, “You must return it in two days or you will suffer karmic retribution!” They returned the portrait two days later.

The escalating harassment is nothing new. From the former CCP head claiming he would “wipe out Falun Dafa within three months” to the harassment before the 2008 Olympic Games to the harassment targeting those who filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin in 2015...every time the authorities tried to act tough, but did they ever manage to “zero” us out?

Today, Falun Dafa books have been translated into over 40 languages and the discipline is practiced in over 100 countries. Don’t be frightened by the superficial appearance of this “Zero-Out Campaign.” Master tells us that the evil factors are few now, so there is little behind it. We should see clearly that it is the time for us to “zero out” the evil!
