1. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Hong Faces Trial

Ms. Yu Hong, 67, was scheduled to be tried by the Jiulongpo District Court at 11 a.m. on September 1, 2021.

Officers from the Dafosi Police Station in the Nan’an District in Chongqing and the Shangshui County Domestic Security Division in Henan Province broke into Ms. Yu’s home on the morning of October 25, 2020. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer and USB drives, among other personal belongings. Ms. Yu is being held in the Chongqing City No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Yu was sentenced to four years in prison in 2002 and then to five years in prison in 2006.

2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhou Liqin’s Home Ransacked

Four officers in the Hantai District broke into the home of Ms. Zhou Liqin and her husband Mr. Zhang Mingxin on the evening of August 14, 2021. They ransacked the place and confiscated printed materials and cell phones. The officers held batons, handcuffed Ms. Zhou and her husband, and took them into custody. They pressured her to write “guarantee statements” renouncing Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhou and her husband were released the following afternoon. Ms. Zhou had obvious injuries on her wrists. The officers later told Mr. Zhang to sign the list of items they confiscated.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Numerous Practitioners Harassed

Many Falun Gong practitioners in Wukeshu Town, Yushu City, were harassed during the CCP’s “zero-out” campaign between March and July 2021.

The following practitioners were forced to sign statements: Zhang Qingfang, Chen Yafan (whose son signed for Chen), Jian, Li Xiangyun, Wang Guichun and spouse, and Dong Yulin.

Practitioners who were harassed are: Xu Xiuhui, Yu Shuqing, Zhao Ximin, Zhong Jianhua, Zhang Jun and spouse, Zhang Fengrong, and Wang Yulan.

4. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuhua and Ms. Chen Fenglan Harassed

Two officers from the Xinhua Road Police Station, one with the last name Zhang, went to the homes of Ms. Zhang Xiuhua and Ms. Chen Fenglan on August 11, 2021. The officers asked the two practitioners if they still practiced Falun Gong. They also asked about their work and daily schedules. Ms. Zhang’s husband told the officers that she stopped practicing. Ms. Chen was not at home at the time. Her daughter cooperated with the police and signed the form.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Kaili Officially Arrested

Mr. Lu Kaili was officially placed under arrest by the Shahekou District Procuratorate on July 8, 2021. The Shahekou District Police Department has his case file, and the specific case-handling unit is the Malanzi Police Station.

Because of Mr. Lu’s adherence to his belief, he was imprisoned for a total of 13 years. He was detained in the Yingkou, Panjin, and Jinzhou Prisons. He was subjected to the death bed torture, shocked with high-voltage electric batons, and lifted off the ground with both hands cuffed.

In October 2010, Mr. Lu was severely abused in the Panjin Prison. As a result, his lower limbs were paralyzed. He was unable to take care of himself. He suffered severe fractures of the lumbar spine, pelvis and ankles; severe injuries to the coccyx nerve; and incontinence. On hot summer days, he was not able to get out of bed and could only put a towel under his body every day in the detention center.

6. [Jingzhou County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Aihua Arrested

Ms. Zhou Aihua and her youngest sister bought high-speed train tickets at the Huaihua High-speed Railway Station on June 18, 2021. They planned to go to Ms. Zhou’s other younger sister’s home in Changsha City to attend their nephew’s wedding banquet. They were arrested at the entry checkpoint of the station. Her home was ransacked, and an arrest warrant was issued at the same time.

Ms. Zhou lives alone. Her daughter works in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It was reported that the receipt of the arrest warrant was sent to her daughter’s work unit in Shenzhen.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Numerous Practitioners Harassed

Three officers including Wang Shaoyun from the Longguan Town Police Station, Chicheng County, went to 86-year-old Ms. Liu Dianzhi’s home on August 4, 2021. They photographed her and asked for her son’s phone number. The next day, the elderly Ms. Liu was in agonizing pain and was admitted to the Zhangjiakou Hospital.

An Wenbing, director of the Xiagong Village Police Station, and other people went to Ms. Guo Jinmei’s home on August 4. They asked her how many people were in the family, her cell phone number, what properties she had, how many computers and television sets she owned, her husband’s phone number, and where she worked. Ms. Guo said, “Why should I tell you?! Who are you? You should leave!” They did not say anything and left promptly.

Later, they went to the home of Zheng Ruxi who used to be a practitioner, and asked if Zheng still practiced Falun Gong. They then went to the homes of practitioners Zheng Ming and Cai Chunping (their genders are unknown). Neither practitioner cooperated with them.

On May 10, they also went to Mr. Guo Qi’s home in Suguanbao Village, Xiagongcun Township. They asked him if he still practiced Falun Gong. They told him it was best to sever ties with Falun Gong and pressured him to sign paperwork, which he refused. They later went to harass Mr. Guo’s wife several times.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Xiushan Arrested

Ms. Chen Xiushan from the Jizhou District was arrested by officers from the Ruijing Road Police Station in Beichen District at 11 p.m. on August 10, 2021. Further details are not yet known.

9. [Jingchuan County, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Wucheng and Jian Rong Harassed

Three people from the Luohandong Township Police Station and the Township Justice Agency went to Mr. Zhang Wucheng’s home and pressured him to sign a confession statement on August 9, 2021.

In 2008, staff from the Jingchuan 610 Office fabricated evidence to frame Mr. Zhang. As a result, he was sentenced to four years in prison. Mr. Zhang refused to sign the verdict.

In May 2021, the home of Jian Rong (gender unknown) was ransacked by officers from the Libao Township Police Station.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. He Zubin and Wife Ms. Lu Caili Officially Arrested

Mr. He Zubin and his wife Ms. Lu Caili were arrested at home by officers from the Rongchang District Police Department on the evening of June 18, 2021. They were officially placed under arrest and are being held in the Rongchang District Detention Center.

11. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Liyan Held in Detention Center

Ms. Liu Liyan was arrested at home by three officers from the Hongyazi Township Police Station around 10 a.m. on August 14, 2021. She is being held in Huludao City.

At the same time, Xiaoweizi (gender unknown) in Xinfuma Village and another practitioner in Zhoutun Village were harassed.

12. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shao Xiubo Arrested

Ms. Shao Xiubo was arrested at home.

13. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Dongping Harassed

Village officials called Ms. Wang Dongping and told her to go to the village office on the morning of August 18, 2021. She went there, and two police officers were present. One of the officers videotaped her. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. She did not answer the question and instead clarified the truth to them. The officers refused to listen to her.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. He Zhiyong Threatened

Mr. He Zhiyong, an employee of the Chongqing Railway Service Section, was harassed at home by local police officers, sub-district administration office personnel, and his work unit officials on August 14, 2021. These people pressured Mr. He to write the “three statements” renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened that if he did not write them, they would take him to a brainwashing center.

15. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Zejiang Missing for Over a Month

Mr. Liu Zejiang from Mulin Town, Shunyi District, has been missing for over a month. Prior to that, he worked in a company in Daxing District, which specialized in cleaning air conditioners.

16. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Peipei Harassed

Village head Li Deming of Yutang Village, Beigu Township, Chuanshan District, and three women went to Ms. Liu Peipei’s home on August 12, 2021. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong. They threatened her, “If you continue to practice, we will detain you.” They also told her to get vaccinated. They said if she did not take the vaccine, her children would not be allowed to go to school. They also repeatedly harassed her over the phone.

17. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Elderly Ms. Wang Aiju Harassed

Three officers from the Jinzhu Township Police Station, Longtan District, broke into nearly 80-year-old Ms. Wang Aiju’s home at 11 p.m. on July 20, 2021. They ordered her to hand over her Falun Gong books, which she refused. The elderly Ms. Wang, who lives alone, was startled by this midnight break-in. Her pulse accelerated. She was not able to talk, and her entire body started shaking. The officers were worried that something would happen to her and left quickly.

Four people went to Ms. Wang’s home again early the next morning. They continued to urge her to hand in her Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang said, “These books are my lifeblood, and I won’t turn them in!” The officers wanted to photograph her. She said, “If you want me to hand in books and photograph me, I may die!” As she said this, she collapsed to the ground. These people left immediately.

18. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shen Yuhua Harassed

Two officers from the Zhuolu Town Police Station, Zhuolu County, went to Ms. Shen Yuhua’s home at 10 a.m. on August 17, 2021.

After entering the house, one of the officers sat down in a chair, set up a testing device, and got ready to photograph her. The other sat on the bed and asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. She said, “You have harassed and persecuted us for so many years. Do you still have to ask? How could I stop practicing something so good?”

19. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Xiuhua and Son Mr. Wang Jianshu Arrested

Ms. Cai Xiuhua and her son Mr. Wang Jianshu from the Longhu District drove a car to distribute Falun Gong materials. Domestic security officers in Chenghai District tracked down their license plate number and located their home. The officers ransacked their home and arrested Ms. Cai and her son. It is not clear where they are being held.

20. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Interrogated

Between August 11 and 13, 2021, officers from the Suiyang Forest District Police Department once again interrogated He Meiyan, Wang Xiangjun, Zhao Guangcai, and Zhang Liancai, who were released on bail.

21. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Numerous Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Li Yunfen from Yangwan Community was harassed by two men and two women from the community management office in mid-April 2021. They even called Ms. Li’s grandson back from Beijing. They pressured her to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened that if she did not cooperate, they would call her son back from the military to convince her to sign.

Xie Fang and Zhong from the community management office went to Ms. Li Qinglan’ home on August 10. They pressured her to sign paperwork. They threatened to prevent her grandson from going to school if she did not cooperate. On the same day, people from the Pengzhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee called the daughter and son of Ms. Liu Shilun. They told them to tell their mother to go to the community management office. They threatened Ms. Liu and her children and pressured them to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong.

22. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Case Against Mr. Guo Hongshan Turned Over to Procuratorate

Officers from the Haigang District Police Department and director Li Wentao and others from the Heping Street Police Station broke into Mr. Guo Hongshan’s home around 5 p.m. on May 27, 2021.

Without showing ID cards or badges, or presenting a new detention certificate, they arrested Mr. Guo. The case against him was turned over to the Haigang District Procuratorate. The procuratorate had not yet filed his case, and his arrest was in violation of judicial procedures.

23. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Wenfang Harassed

Ms. Li Wenfang, in her 80s, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and handing out special editions of Epidemic Updates on July 5, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Shuangliu Police Department’s 110 Response Unit. She returned home that evening.

For over a year, she has been harassed by various departments on numerous occasions.

Law enforcement agencies in the Shuangliu District notified Ms. Li’s work unit of the incident. Her work unit immediately sent someone in charge and people who oversaw retirement affairs to find her and her children. They threatened to stop her pension payments, among other penalties, if this happened again.

Around 8 p.m. on May 1, 2021, residential officer Yang Yi and others from the Guangdu Community Management Office in Dongsheng Town knocked on the door of Ms. Li’s home. The officers photographed her while they talked to her. Ms. Li immediately stopped them, telling them that it was illegal to photograph a person without permission.

After 3 p.m. on July 24, staff from the Huayue Community Management Office in Dongsheng Town knocked on the door of Ms. Li’s house and pressured her to fill in a form, which she refused. One of them used a camera and began taking pictures. Ms. Li sternly stopped the person from taking pictures.
