(Minghui.org) There are some practitioners who have not cultivated well in recent years but who still want to continue practicing. Instead of cultivating diligently, however, they still harbor strong human notions. Some even seek “shortcuts” to get paid for doing nothing or to become rich overnight, rendering themselves vulnerable to the exploits of the old forces.
This has happened to a person named Amy (pseudonym) in upstate New York. According to practitioners who know her, Amy is not a genuine practitioner even though she has been interacting with other practitioners for a long time and calls herself a practitioner. Especially in the past 6-plus months, she has borrowed money from practitioners many times, saying that someone wanted to donate his inheritance to Falun Dafa. Amy said she needed the money to secure this “donation.” As a result, lots of money has been transferred from her to the “donor” over the past few months.
It was said that the phone number of the alleged “donor” has been included on the scam list of the New York City Attorney General’s Office. The scammer asked Amy to send money to him in an old school way, a scamming method that has been widely reported. But Amy still blindly followed him and constantly borrowed money from practitioners to give to the scammer. As a result, Amy has accrued heavy debts herself. It has been said that besides asking for money in the U.S., she may have started borrowing money from practitioners in China or her relatives in China. We caution practitioners in China not to participate in this scam.
Master said,
“In truth, the spiritual journey is none other than an ongoing process of learning to let go of the things of this world that we may be attached to.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
Master has given opportunities again and again to practitioners who have yet to show improvement but still want to be practitioners. Those who are fooling themselves and others, and being scammed by others, please take this matter seriously. The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are profound, and there is a standard for everyday people and a higher requirement for practitioners. But in any case, we need to be responsible to ourselves no matter what we do. When the Last Judgment comes, there is no chance for excuses or self-defense, as everyone will be measured by his or her actions.
We hope that practitioners who have fallen behind over these years can catch up and cultivate based on the Fa. After all, we should cherish ourselves and cherish Dafa.
