(Minghui.org) Four residents in Wuhan City, Hubei Province are still being held at the Etouwan Brainwashing Center for upholding their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, the authorities in Wuhan have closely followed the regime in suppressing local practitioners, especially in hosting brainwashing sessions against the practitioners.
Ms. Zhou Ailin was reported by three college students for talking to people about Falun Gong on the street on July 29, 2021. The police arrested her around September 14, 2021, and gave her 15 days at Wuhan City No. 1 Lockup. When she was released from the lockup on September 29, the police stopped her at the gate, carried her into the police car, and took her to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center. This is the ninth time that Ms. Zhou has been taken to a brainwashing center.

Ms. Zhou Mingli was taken to the brainwashing center in July 2021. She was forced to write a statement to renounce Falun Gong weeks later but soon regretted it. She asked to take her statement back and tore it up. The authorities then transferred her to the Yusunshan Brainwashing Center and held her there for over five months. She was recently taken back to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Liu Ziying was arrested at home on November 20, 2021, and has been held at the brainwashing center since. It’s reported that she was targeted after being reported for mailing a letter to a procuratorate in the Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, urging the officials not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The Guangdong police went to Wuhan to investigate the case and located her through the postmark and surveillance videos.
Another practitioner, Ms. Gao Aijun, was also arrested on November 20. She was first given 15 days at the Erzhigou Lockup and then transferred to the brainwashing center after her detention term expired.
