(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Mao Dejun and Ms. Yang Guangzhen Sentenced to Prison
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Ruiping Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

1. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Mao Dejun and Ms. Yang Guangzhen Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Mao Dejun, a retired middle school physics teacher, was tried in the Linshu County Court on December 8, 2020 and was sentenced to one and a half years in prison by Judge Wu Shufang.
Ms. Yang Guangzhen, a retired teacher, was tried in the Linshu County Court on October 8, 2021 and was sentenced to two years in prison by Judge Yan Shan. Ms. Yang appealed the case in mid-October 2021 but the original verdict was upheld by Judge Qiu Wen in the Linyi City Intermediate Court on December 26, 2021.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Ruiping Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Wang Ruiping, 68, was arrested on the afternoon of June 2, 2021. She was sentenced to two years in prison in late December 2021. She has appealed to the intermediate court.
3. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chu Zhiping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Chu Zhiping was arrested by officers in the Xuecheng District on the morning of June 15, 2021. Her home was ransacked. She is currently detained in the Tengzhou Detention Center.
4. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jing Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. Sun Jing was sentenced to eight years in prison on December 21, 2021. She was recently taken to a hospital for a physical exam by police. Further details are unknown.
5. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Shi Zufang and Ms. Liu Rong Arrested
Several officers from the Xincun Police Station in Dongchuan District went to Ms. Shi Zufang’s home on January 14, 2022. They didn’t show a search permit but ransacked her home. Her personal belongings were confiscated including 33 Dafa books, three MP3 players, and more than ten keychain amulets. Ms. Shi was taken to the Dongchuan District Brainwashing Center and was released the next afternoon.
Ms. Liu Rong was arrested on January 14, 2022 because she was caught on the surveillance camera when she distributed truth-clarifying materials on January 1 and 2, 2022. Her current situation is unknown.
6. [Tianjin] Five Practitioners Persecuted
Mr. Li Wenjing was arrested at home one night in June 2020. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Zhang Yuemei was detained for 40 days in the Baodi Detention House. She was released after her breast began bleeding.
Mr. Zhang Ziwen was detained in the Gangbei Prison. Due to the persecution, his lower limbs were paralyzed and he was released. His wife Ms. Liu Yuhong was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong and she has been detained since September 2021. His son Mr. Zhang Ximing was sentenced to three years in prison and was placed in detention.
7. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Chenghua Arrested and Detained
Ms. Chen Chenghua lives in Nanchen Village, Liusi Township, Gaotang County. She was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Ju Town, Yucheng City and was arrested by officers from the Ju Town Police Station and the Liusi Police Station on December 16, 2021. Ms. Chen is currently detained in the Dezhou City Detention Center.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pan Cui’e Arrested and Detained
Ms. Pan Cui’e from Wangtan Town, 65, was seen distributing truth-clarifying materials in a market by two officers from the Wangtan Town Police Station on the morning of January 1, 2022. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. Ms. Pan is currently detained in the Tangshan Detention Center.
9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Duncheng Arrested and Detained
Mr. Zhang Duncheng, who works at the No. 7 Company of Jiaozhou Petroleum, was recorded by the surveillance cameras in the Lucheng Residential Community in Jiaozhou City and was arrested. He has been detained in the Sanlihe Police Station in Jiaozhou City for two months.
10. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] The Case Against Ms. Yu Yingchun Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Yu Yingchun was arrested by officer Li Benhai from the Wendeng District Police Department in 2020 and was later released on bail pending trial.
Ms. Yu was informed by officer Li Benhai on November 24, 2021 that her case was submitted to the Wendeng District Procuratorate. She was summoned to the procuratorate on January 9, 2022. Ms. Yu went there but refused to sign anything.
11. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Jianxiu Tried in Court
Ms. Cui Jianxiu from Ju County was tried online by the Wulian County Court at 2 p.m., January 17, 2022. Her family members were not allowed to attend the hearing. Her lawyer defended her innocence during the trial.
