1. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Hefang Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Hefang is a nurse in the Pinggu Hospital. She was arrested on August 26, 2021 and was taken to the Pinggu District Detention Center. The case against her was submitted to the Pinggu District Court on December 14, 2021. The hearing was originally scheduled on the morning of December 28, 2021 but was postponed until after New Year’s Day.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liao Hui Faces Trial

Mr. Liao Hui from Wuchang District was reported to police when he distributed truth-clarifying materials in a residential community. He was arrested by officers from the Baishazhou Police Station in Wuchang District on March 16, 2021. He was released later that day on bail pending trial.

The case against him was submitted to the Wuchang District Court in the first half of 2021. He will be tried in court at 9 a.m. on December 28, 2021.

3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou and Her Non-Practitioner Husband Mr. Niu Jiancheng Arrested

Ms. Zhou and her husband Mr. Niu Jiancheng (non-practitioner) were recently arrested by police in Wei County. Their home was ransacked. There are many plainclothes police on the streets because the 2022 Winter Olympics will be held in Zhangjiakou City.

4. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Xueying and Ms. Zeng Qinling Detained

Ms. Tang Xueying from Shizhuyuan was arrested by Hou Jindong, deputy of the Bailutang Police Station in Suxian District on November 18, 2021. She was detained in the Tiziling Addiction Treatment Center and has not been allowed to see her family or her lawyer.

Ms. Zeng Qinling is detained in the Tizhiling Detention Center.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Zujuan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Qian Zujuan was arrested by officers from the Qingling Street Police Station in Wuchang District on the afternoon of December 17, 2021. Her home was ransacked. She is currently detained in the No.1 Detention House of Wuhan City.

6. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Guizhen’s Home Ransacked

Numerous officers from the Wei County Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Xu Guizhen’s home in Yangzhuang Village on December 20, 2021. They ransacked her home. Ms. Xu’s situation is unknown.

7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Yan Jingxiong Arrested and Detained

Mr. Yan Jingxiong, 59, lives in Shuangqiao Village, Guandu District. He was arrested at his home by officers from the Guandu District Police Department around 6 p.m. on December 22, 2021. The police ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Mr. Yan is currently detained in the Guandu District Detention Center.

Mr. Yan has been detained in prison for 13 or 14 years. He returned home on October 10, 2020.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Xiang Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xiang was arrested near her home by two officers from the Huanghuadian Police Station on the evening of December 24, 2021. Ms. Zhao has been under residential surveillance for months. Officers from the Huanghuadian Police Station rented a house next to her home and installed surveillance cameras to monitor the door of her house and the lane where her home is located.

9. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] 81-year-old Ms. Li Shunhua Faces Trial

Ms. Li Shunhua, 81, will be tried in the Maonan District Court at 9 a.m. on December 27, 2021.

10. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Hongzhi and Ms. Xu Hongxia Harassed

Ms. Xu Hongzhi’s daughter recently received several calls from village officials Li Haiyan and Wang Chen. She was pressured to go to the village office to sign a guarantee statement on behalf of her mother, which she refused.

Ms. Xu Hongxia is the sister of Ms. Xu Hongzhi. Her husband received a call and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement on behalf of his wife, which he refused. These people even went to his workplace to harass him.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Yu Zhanqin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yu Zhanqin from Huairou District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a clothing store. She was arrested by officers from the Longshan Police Station on September 19, 2021. She was held in a detention center for more than three months. Her case has been submitted to the court.

12. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Dou Bihua Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Ms. Dou Bihua was arrested by officers from the Yongshou Town Police Station on December 18, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was first detained in the Pengshan Detention Center and was later transferred to the Meishan Detention Center. Because she refused to be brainwashed, she was sentenced to one year in prison. She was taken to the Longquan Women’s Prison on July 21, 2021. Ms. Dou was released on November 12, 2021.

13. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Fengxian Dies While Being Detained

Ms. Sun Fengxian, 65, was arrested by officers from the Nong’an County Domestic Security Division and the Gucheng Police Station on July 15, 2020. She was tried in the Dehui Court on April 9, 2021 and was sentenced to two years in prison on July 26, 2021. The verdict was upheld by the Changchun Intermediate Court on November 29, 2021.

Ms. Sun suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in the Nong’an County Detention Center on the afternoon of December 3, 2021. She was taken to the China-Japan Friendship Hospital of Changchun City and underwent surgery. The operation was successful and she was later transferred to the Nong’an County Traditional Chinese Hospital on December 13, 2021. Ms. Song’s family received a call from the hospital on 12:40 a.m. on December 15, 2021 and learned that she was in the ICU. Ms. Song died around 1:30 a.m. on December 15, 2021.
