(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 72 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhang Yongyou from Huixian City was arrested for carrying a few copies of Falun Gong books on September 2, 2022. He was on his way to Xinjiang Province to work and was arrested by railway police from the Urumqi Railway Police Department. He was still in custody as of 10 p.m. September 5, 2022.
Ms. Zhang Aidong has been missing for two weeks. It was learned that before the Chinese New Year that she was tried by the Xuanwu District Court without a verdict being read. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Since 2019 Mr. Li Kuncai had to move from place to place to avoid being persecuted by the Tianjiazhuang Township Police Station. He was arrested around August 15, 2022 in Jinzhou City by officers from the Tianjiazhuang Township Police Station.
Ms. Gao Jie was observed bringing informational materials about Falun Gong to another practitioner on June 17, 2022. The next day, officers including Yang Chengli from the Hechuan District Police Department broke into Ms. Gao’s home, shut off the water, electricity and gas supply, and seized all her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, a printer, banknotes with information about Falun Gong written on them, etc. They took Ms. Gao to the Wuzun Brainwashing Center in Hechuan District. On July 22 they transferred her to the Jiangbei District Brainwashing Center.
Four or five officers from the Bin County Police Department and the Minhe Township Police Station forced their way into Ms. Xing Guihua’s home on March 18, 2022 and seized a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and two sets of video tapes of his lectures. They demanded Ms. Xing go to the township government. She refused. Three or four months later agents came to harass Ms. Xing again.
The Party secretary of the Zouge Village Committee and officers from the Qishan Town Police Station forced their way into Ms. Duan Shuying’s home on August 30, 2022. They took Ms. Duan, about 80, and her husband to the Qishan Town Police Station without any cause. Officers interrogated the couple and asked whether they knew Mr. Wang Huayang (who was arrested a few days ago) and whether they ever contacted him. The couple said no. The officers then tried to force the couple to sign a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. Ms. Duan refused. The couple was released that evening.
Ms. Jin Yan, held in the first ward of Liaoning Provincial No. 2 Women’s Prison, was tied up on a bed and violently beaten by inmates who were assigned to watch her.
Ms. Liu Yuchao, held in the third ward of the same prison, is also often beaten.
When Ms. Li Hengying returned home on August 30, 2022 she noticed her door was already open. Two officers and a security staff were inside her home, and a pile of informational materials about Falun Gong lay on floor. They seized three printers, three computers, three photos of Falun Gong’s founder and three music players.
Three officers from the Huanggezhuang Town Police Station harassed Mr. Ma Zhixiang, Mr. Wu Baohe, Ms. Wu Xiuling, and Ms. Zhang Ruilian on August 26, 2022. They took photos of and video-recorded practitioners as soon as they entered practitioners’ homes and asked if they still practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. Gao Jianzhen was arrested in February 2022 by officers from the Zaoyuan Police Station and is still detained.
Mr. Cao Huashan and Ms. Pu Huiqun are still being held in prison. Mr. Cao Huashan’s wife Ms. Li Qiulian was released on parole because she has serious leg injuries. Their daughter became sick after her parents were arrested and died because she had no money to see a doctor. Ms. Li Qiulian now lives alone and is impoverished.
