(Minghui.org) Another Falun Gong practitioner in Anshan City, Liaoning Province was sentenced to three years on July 8, 2022 by the Lishan District Court.
Since the Chinese communist regime ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, the Lishan District Court has been actively assisting the regime in convicting Falun Gong practitioners without any legal basis.
The latest victim, Ms. Sun Lihua, was arrested in early 2019 on a train, when the train security found Falun Gong materials in her bag. She was detained for five days and then released on bail. She was taken back into custody on January 19, 2022 and had her arrest approved on January 27.
After her first hearing on May 26, her family hired a lawyer for her. The lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her during the second court session on July 8, yet judge Li Yueguang still sentenced her to three years. Her family has appealed the case with Anshan City Intermediate Court.
In addition to Ms. Sun, the same court heard the cases against Ms. Liu Suzhi and Mr. Zhang Yunkun on August 10, and the cases against Ms. Bai Xuesong and Ms. Shi Yanying on September 16. The four practitioners are now awaiting verdicts.
According to information collected by Minghui.org, at least 33 practitioners have been sentenced to prison by the Lishan District Court between 2002 and 2021. The details can be found here (PDF).
