Additional Persecution News from China – September 23, 2022 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 37 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Xu Runye Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

It was reported that Ms. Xu Runye was sentenced to three years in prison by the Xixia District Court. She is being held in the Yinchuan City Detention Center.

2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Case Against Mr. Cai Huaxing Brought to Court

Mr. Cai Huaxing from the Baiyun District was arrested by officers from the Baiyun District Police Department’s Domestic Security Division and the Junhe Police Station on March 22, 2022. His case was brought to the Liwan District Court on August 18 by Liwan District Procuratorate.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Xing and Ms. Liu Yuhong Officially Arrested

Ms. Liu Xing and Ms. Liu Yuhong from the Daxing District were arrested after July 25, 2022. They were officially placed under arrest around September 5. They have been held in the Daxing District Detention Center.

4. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Lanzhi Arrested

Ms. Li Lanzhi was arrested by three plainclothes on the morning of September 21, 2022. They grabbed her bag, which her husband quickly took back. Ms. Li’s whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ji Jimu Faces Trial

The Huangdao District Court will try Mr. Ji Jinmu via video link in the No. 12 Trial Chamber of the Dongfeng Road Litigation Service Center in Huangdao District on September 23, 2022.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Hui Arrested

It was reported on September 20, 2022, that Ms. Zhang Hui was arrested and taken to the Funing District Detention Center.

7. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Li Yuhua and Lin Junhui Arrested

Li Yuhua and Lin Junhui (genders are unknown) from Chunqing District were arrested at home on the afternoon of September 20, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Nanchong City Detention Center.

8. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Qunpeng and Ms. Ma Xiaoxuan Arrested

Mr. Ma Qunpeng and Ms. Ma Xiaoxuan from Majiazhuang Village, Haotouzhuang Township, were arrested by Jia Fengjie, director of the Haotouzhuang Township Police Station, and Ma Yafeng, a public security liaison person in the village, on September 16, 2022.

9. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is about to be held. Various police stations in Hanzhong City, together with staff members of community management offices, have harassed Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. They put pressure on practitioners by knocking on their doors, making intimidating phone calls, taking pictures, and coercing them to sign paperwork.

Practitioners who were harassed include: Tu Baogui, Wu Yali, Wei Caixia, Jia Guiqin, Xu Cuifang, Chen Baohan, Zhou Suming, Liu Sigong, Li Xianhui, Liu Jihong, Luo Yan, Wang Hanbin, Wang Jufang, Ms. Gong Yun, among others.

They completely ignored the fact that Ms. Gong Yun was partially handicapped due to polio, and dragged her around when they arrested her.

10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Fengjun Harassed

Lei Ming, director of the Baosheng Police Station in High-tech Zone, led two officers to break into the Menmian Restaurant on September 14, 2022, and harassed Ms. Chen Fengjun. They videotaped her and confiscated lyrics of Falun Gong music she had transcribed.

11. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Jiangzhuang Police Station could not find Mr. Wang Dejun and his wife who were working out of town. They went to his father’s home to harass and photograph him.

On September 14, 2022, four officers from the police station harassed disabled Mr. Wang Zhili at home and videotaped him.

12. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Wenhua Arrested

Five or six people from the Jiangdong Domestic Security Division, the No. 1 Police Station, and the sub-district administration office in Yanbian Prefecture broke into Ms. Ma Wenhua’s home on September 5, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated two seals, over 60 Falun Gong books, and printed materials. Ms. Ma was taken to the police station and videotaped. She was placed under criminal detention for 13 days. She has returned home.

13. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Case Against Mr. Chen Quanlong Brought to Court

Mr. Chen Quanlong was reported to the police in August 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home and confiscated several Falun Gong books. His case has been brought to the court.

14. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Bing and Wife Arrested

Mr. Li Bing was arrested at work by officers from the Zhennan Police Station on September 20, 2022. The officers ransacked his home and arrested his wife. His wife was released at 3 p.m. the following day. Mr. Li was transferred to the Shenyang City State Security Division by someone named Dai Guoqing.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Case Against Ms. Wang Jian Sent to the Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Jian, 34, went downstairs at her home in Bin County and headed out to work on July 11, 2022. She was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Department, the Domestic Security Division of Bin County Police Department, and Shengli Street Police Station. She was held in the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center.

She was officially placed under arrest by the Yilan County Procuratorate on July 20. Her case was brought to the Yilang County Procuratorate on August 26.

16. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Zhang realized that someone was photographing her with their cell phone on September 19, 2022. She hurried home. Later, these people called her son to open the door and they ransacked her home. Three Walkmans, booklets and other personal items were confiscated.

17. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Song Hongwei Arrested

Ms. Song Hongwei was arrested by officers from the Wuying Township Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong in Wuying Township on September 22, 2022.

18. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mx. Su Guiying’s Pension Suspended

Ms. Su Guiying, 61, lives in Mazhang District. Her pension was suspended by the Mazhang District Social Security Bureau in 2020.

In December 2021, Ms. Su filed a lawsuit with the Zhanjiang Economic Development Zone Court against the Mazhang District Social Security Bureau. On June 22, 2022, her case was unreasonably dismissed by the court. Ms. Su believed that the court decision was not in compliance with the law and appealed to the Zhanjiang Intermediate Court.
