(Minghui.org) Ms. Yang Rongrong was sentenced to two years and eight months in late 2021 for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Yang, a 50-year-old Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province resident, was arrested on January 22, 2021 at a grocery market. The police ransacked her home and took her to the Baisha Detention Center. She attended a virtual hearing by the Yangchun Court at the detention center on August 26. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her.
Her family recently found out that she was sentenced to prison and fined 5,000 yuan in late 2021.
Prior to her latest sentencing, Ms. Yang was given a three-year labor camp term in 2001 for her faith.
