Additional Persecution News from China – September 28, 2022 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 48 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yuling Sentenced to Eighteen Months in Prison

Elderly Ms. Wang Yuling lives in the Jiezhuang Village, Hongshan Town, Zichuan District. She was arrested twice by officers from the Chengnan Police Station in the Zichuan District in late August 2021. Her home was ransacked. She was released on bail pending trial and was placed under residential surveillance. 

Ms. Wang was arrested by officers from the Hongshan Town Police Station in July 2022. She was taken to the Zibo City Detention Center two days later.

Ms. Wang was tried online by the Zichuan District Court on September 6, 2022. According to the photo shown in the court she was caught by surveillance cameras when she distributed truth clarifying materials in a market. The verdict was not announced during the hearing. It was recently learned that Ms. Wang was sentenced to eighteen months in prison.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners from the Linghe District including Ms. Xie Chengyu, Ms. Li Yanling, and Ms. Song Wenli, 72, were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Houshen Street Market on the morning of September 21, 2022. Mr. Jiang Yongjin was arrested at home that afternoon. Their homes were ransacked. The practitioners are detained in the Yi County Detention Center.

3. [Wenling City, Zhejiang Province] Five Practitioners Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Five practitioners including Mr. Lin Weiguo and his wife, Xian Ping, Ms. Xu Jinli and Ms. Xu Jinxia, were taken to the brainwashing center in the Hengshan Mountain Militia Base on the morning of September 7, 2022. They have not yet returned home.

4. [Gong’an County, Hubei Province] 10 Practitioners Harassed

Police in Gong’an County have harassed multiple practitioners since September 2022. 

Ms. Li Xuemei and Ms. Chen Xiuyu were photographed by officers from the Jiazhuyuan Town Police Station and were warned not to go out to distribute informational materials.

Chen Gongyu and Mr. Tang Chunhui were photographed and warned by officers from the Chanling Police Station in Douhudi Town. 

Officers from the Douhudi Town Police Station and local community staff members photographed practitioners including Ms. Li Guangzhen, Ms. Xu Cui’e, Ms. Wu Guizhi, Ms. Zhao Suzhen, Mr. Mao Yuankun, and Mr. Mao Qiang.

5. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Wu Youqing Arrested

Wu Youqing (gender unknown) was arrested outside on the evening of September 26, 2022. Twelve officers including Chen Fei from the Gaozhou City Police Department took Wu who was in handcuffs, to Wu’s home around midnight. They ransacked the place and confiscated Wu’s Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They took Wu with them when they left.

6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang Arrested

Two officers from the Dongchang District Police Department went to Ms. Yan Shufang’s home on the morning of September 22, 2022. She was at work and not at home. The officers came back at noon and arrested her. She was taken to the Tonghua Detention Center later that day.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] 10 Practitioners Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Ten practitioners have been taken and detained in a brainwashing center since August 2022. They are Wei Denghui, Dong Jingzhi, Tu Yonghong, Zhou Daoqun, Tang Jinxiu, Xu Yuqing, Zhu Sanmei, Deng Zhongsu, Zhang Hong and Xiang Yuanxiu. The practitioners were pressured to sign a guarantee statement. The Chengdu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Qingbaijiang District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Dawan Sub-district Office and Dawan Police Station were involved in persecuting the practitioners.

8. [Yishui City, Shandong] The Cases Against Peng Xianghui and Zhang Qingwen Submitted to the Procuratorate

The cases against Peng Xianghui and Zhang Qingwen were submitted to the Wulian District Procuratorate.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Xia Jiesheng’s Home Ransacked

Elderly Ms. Xia Jiesheng lives in Tushan Town, Nan’an District. Five plainclothes officers and one female community staff member went to Ms. Xia’s home at 8 a.m. on September 22, 2022. They ransacked her home and took Ms. Xia to the Wanglongmen Police Station in the Yuzhong District for interrogation. Ms. Xia was placed under 15-day detention and fined 1000 yuan. She was allowed to go home that afternoon.

The next morning, four officers from the Yuzhong District Police Department and one woman from the property management office went to Ms. Xia’s home. They ransacked her home again and took some photos. Ms. Xia was once again taken to the Wanglongmen Police Station for interrogation. She was released in the afternoon.

The police confiscated several Falun Gong books, amulets, media players, headsets, and dozens of memory cards from Ms. Xia’s home.

10. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Huiping Arrested

Several officers from the Lixi District went to 59-year-old Ms. Liu Huiping’s home at noon on September 26, 2022. They confiscated three Falun Gong books, a cell phone and a printer that is used to print children’s study materials.

11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guixia Arrested

Ms. Wang Guixia, 78, was arrested on the afternoon of September 25, 2022.

12. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ying Arrested

Ms. Wang Ying was arrested at home in Gudao Town of Dongying City by police from Yucheng City on September 27, 2022.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. He Ziguang Arrested

Three plainclothes officers went to Mr. He Ziguang’s home at 5:30 p.m. on September 26, 2022. They searched the home and took Mr. He away at 6:20 p.m.

14. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chi Guilan Harassed 

Ms. Chi Guilan was recently harassed at home by people in the Jianguo Community. They photographed and videotaped her. Ms. Chi received several calls and was told to cooperate and have her photo taken and be videotaped. She refused.

15. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Jianchun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Yu Jianchun from the Zhifu District was arrested at his workplace on February 22, 2022. He has been detained in the Muping Detention Center. Mr. Yu was sentenced to three years in prison by the Zhifu District Court on July 4, 2022. He has appealed to the intermediate court.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yanli Harassed

Staff members from the Fucheng Community in Hushi Sub-district, Shenbei New District, went to Ms. Zhou Yanli’s home on August 25, 2022. They pressured Ms. Zhou to fill out three forms, which she refused.

17. [Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Qunzhen Arrested

Ms. Li Qunzhen was arrested on August 25, 2022. She was bailed out by her daughter.

18. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Huayu Arrested

Ms. Zhang Huayu from Qingshan Township was arrested on September 25, 2022.

19. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiao Jian and Ms. Zhang Ximei Arrested

Ms. Xiao Jian and Ms. Zhang Ximei were arrested on the evening of September 26, 2022. Ms. Xiao Jian’s home was ransacked.

20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced Up to Five Years in Prison

Three practitioners were sentenced and fined by the Haizhu District on August 9, 2022. Mr. Zeng Xingyang was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. Mr. Zeng’s wife Ms. Deng Fang, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 6000 yuan. Mr. Zeng’s younger sister Ms. Zeng Yueling, was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 6000 yuan. All three practitioners have appealed to the intermediate court.
