(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 45 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Pulandian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chi Guihua Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Chi Guihua was arrested on September 22, 2022. She was tried via video link last week and was sentenced to three years in prison. Her family has been notified. Ms. Chi was fined 30,000 yuan, which was paid to the authorities. At the time of sentencing, she was told said that if she did not pay the fine, she would be sentenced to 7 years in prison.

2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Kuihua Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Yan Kuihua from Yanjia Village, Linzi District, was arrested at home by officers from the Linzi District Police Department at 8 a.m. on August 12, 2022. In mid-October 2022, Ms. Yan was sentenced to two years in prison and is still being held in the Zibo City Detention Center.

3. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Ping Faces Trial

Ms. Wen Ping was arrested on July 1, 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. On December 9, 2020, she was prosecuted by the Longmatan District Procuratorate. Ms. Wen was placed under residential surveillance. She left her home. The Longmatan District Court scheduled her trial in the No. 105 courtroom at 9:30 a.m. on November 25, 2022.

4. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qin Shaohua Faces Trial

On the morning of November 17, 2022, three officers led by Du Jiang from the Furi Police Station broke into Ms. Qin Shaohua’s father’s home to search for her. They videotaped the whole process, talked to Ms. Qin’s parents, and forcibly brought Ms. Qin to the Gaomi City Court.

After she arrived at the court, two staff members videotaped her, and then gave her three pieces of paper, which were the court summons, the indictment, and a notice of her rights. They asked her to sign the three papers, which she refused. The court officials told her that the trial would be held on December 1, 2022. If she did not show up in the courtroom, she would be arrested.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhu Ruiying and Ms. Sun Fangyun Face Trial

Ms. Zhu Ruiying and Ms. Sun Fangyun will be tried by the Shushan District Court on November 23, 2022.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Tairong Tried

Ms. Sun Tairong from Xiangfang District was tried on the afternoon of November 13, 2022. Her family members were unable to attend the court session. It is reported that Ms. Sun is currently being held in Dacheng District Detention Center where she is beaten every day.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

In October 2022, Ms. Yang Guifang from Huai’ancheng Town, Huai’an County, was at another practitioner’s home. Two police officers suddenly came in and began taking pictures. They asked Ms. Yang if she still practiced Falun Gong.

In October 2022, someone knocked on the door of Ms. Li Yuezhi’s home. Two police officers came in, took pictures of Ms. Li, and then left.

In September 2022, village committee secretary Zuo Fubin and women’s affairs director Wu Jing in Team 1, Huai’ancheng Town went to Ms. Yang Meilan’s home to take pictures. Later, Zuo made several harassing phone calls, asking if Ms. Yang was at home.

In October 2022, village committee secretary Zhang Guifang in Team 2 and others went to Ms. Wang Guixiang’s home. They brought a sheet for her to sign, and took pictures of her. Ms. Wang refused to sign anything, and they left.

In October 2022, village committee secretary Zuo Fubin and others went to Ms. Zhang Zhihua’s home. They threatened her and told her not to distribute information about Falun Gong. They also photographed her.

On October 18, 2022, Kang, a village committee official of Team 11, led two police officers to Ms. Huang Meilin’s home to take pictures.

On October 5, 2022, Wu Quantang, a Zhangjitun Village official in Huai’ancheng Town, led a deputy director to Ms. Zhao Chunhua’s home to take pictures.

On October 5, 2022, village director Cai Baochi in Team 6 in Huai’ancheng Town, went to Ms. Wang Guilan’s home. No one was there, so they left.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Mr. Zhang Guisheng Brought to Court

Mr. Zhang Guisheng, 74, was arrested by Li Feifan and others from the Mingshan Police Station on July 13, 2022. He was officially placed under arrest by the Nanfen District Procuratorate on August 18. His case was twice returned to the police by the procuratorate for supplementary investigation.

On November 18, 2022, the Nanfen District Procuratorate brought Mr. Zhang’s case to Nanfen District Court for prosecution.

9. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Li Qiang, deputy mayor and chief of the Liaocheng City Police Department, gave orders to harass Falun Gong practitioners in various areas. From May 13, 2022 until now, many practitioners were followed, stalked, and harassed at home. Their Falun Gong books, printed materials, and personal items were confiscated. Some practitioners became displaced. Several practitioners have been taken into custody or placed in criminal detention.

Li Qiang threatened to give harsh prison terms to practitioners who were arrested some time ago, including Ms. Gao Shuzhen (over 40 years old) from Tangyuan Town, Linqing City, Ms. Zhang Yuxiang (about 50 years old) from Guanxian County, Mr. Zhang Bingliang (about 70 years old) from Guanxian County, Mr. Han Zhenlin (about 70 years old) from Linqing City, and deputy director Zhou Chunbao of the Guan County Taxation Bureau.

Ms. Gao, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Han are currently at home. Zhou is being held in the Tianmayuan Detention Center in western Guan County. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Guan County Detention Center. After placing Zhou and Ms. Zhang officially under arrest, the procuratorate has brought the two practitioners’ cases to the Guan County Court.

On November 16, 2022, officers from Guan County Domestic Security Division called Ms. Gao, Mr. Zhang, and Mr. Han, and asked them to go to the Guan County Procuratorate. At the procuratorate, the practitioners were asked whether they practiced Falun Gong, among other questions. They have all returned home.

10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Scheduled for Second Trial

On November 17, 2022, Jingyang District Court tried nine practitioners: Ms. Qian Shuju, Mr. Tang Lirong, Ms. Long Shuping, Ms. Yu Yongqiong, Ms. Yan Yulan, Bao Shuhua, Yang Zhipeng, Zhao Jie, and Ms. Cai Shangyu.

The second trial has been scheduled for the following six practitioners:Ms. Long Shuping: morning of November 21;Ms. Yu Yongqiong and Ms. Yan Yulan: afternoon of November 21:Ms. Cai Shangyu and Ms. Qian Shuju: 3 p.m. on November 25;Mr. Tang Lirong: 3 p.m. on November 30.

11. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuhua Held in Custody

Ms. Zhang Shuhua was held in custody in Changchun City.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiurong’s Home Ransacked

Five officers from the Babaoshan Police Station, in Shijingshan District, broke into Ms. Wang Xiurong’s home in the Yongle Residential Community on the morning of November 17, 2022. They ransacked the place and confiscated numerous Falun Gong books and two audio recorders.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

The director of the Xinmin Police Station and an officer went to Ms. Lu Yanhua’s home to harass her and take pictures.

Officers from the Guangming Police Station went to Ms. Sha Shuyan’s home to harass her and take pictures.

Local police officers went to the home of 86-year-old Ms. Hu to take pictures.

Officers from the Xinmin Police Station went to Ju Wenyan’s home to harass her, and told her that they wanted to take pictures.

Officers from Hongqi Township Police Station in Hulan District went to Li Ying’s home to harass her.

Other practitioners that were harassed were Liu Yaqin, Xi Guiying, Zhou Chunzhi, Chang Fengqin, Ma Yan, Zhou Guofu, and Hu Cuihuan. They or their family members have received harassing phone calls.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinghui’s 18 Month Prison Term Upheld by Intermediate Court

Ms. Wang Jinghui from Yuhong District was tried via video link by the Yuhong District Court at 9:30 a.m. on July 21, 2022. She was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. She appealed to the Shenyang City Intermediate Court, but the court upheld the original judgment.

15. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Xiaoju Arrested

Practitioner Xiaoju was arrested by officers from the Liaocheng University Police Station and neighborhood committee personnel at 6 o’clock on November 12 or November 13, 2022. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer. Further details are pending.
