When an Old Man Fell Next to Me

(Minghui.org) I was out walking one day and noticed a family ahead of me. A middle-aged man was a few steps in front of an older woman and man. The older couple were both using canes to steady themselves. Suddenly, the old man fell with a crash. Many passersby stopped and looked, but no one tried to help him. Someone even yelled, “Don’t touch him! Don’t pull him up!” because there were a lot of scams to extort money from good samaritans.

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. Master Li asks us to be good at all times and everywhere. I wanted to help the old man. I bent down and said to him, “Say with me ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassionate-Forbearance is good.'” I repeated the two mantras to him. The old man slowly stood up by himself. I noticed that there were no bruises on his face or hands, and his clothes were not torn. I told him to keep repeating the mantras with me. He nodded and said, “Yes, I will.”

By then, his son and his wife were no longer in shock and thanked me. The attitude of the watching crowd also changed. One person said that it was a dangerous situation, as an old person might fall and break some bones. Thus, the family should thank me, a good samaritan. I said to the crowd that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, and it was our Master who deserved the gratitude.

The family and passersby found out about the two mantras, and witnessed the power of Falun Dafa, through this incident. My only regret was that I didn’t use the opportunity to ask people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.

I often cite this story when I talk to strangers, so people learn the merits of Falun Dafa, the facts of the persecution, and the importance of quitting the CCP organizations. The listeners often became anxious at the point in the story when a passerby yelled that no one should touch the person. I emphasized that I didn’t pull the old man up. I repeated the two mantras near his ears. he stood up by himself and was unhurt. The listeners always said they would remember the two mantras.

A young man once said that he often told his parents to be careful, and not fall when they went out because no one wanted to help an old person lying on the ground. “Today I heard your story that Falun Dafa can save lives. That’s great! I must tell my parents to recite ‘Falun Dafa is good,’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ often,” he said.

Besides that, I tell people that the evil Party advocates atheism, has been persecuting Dafa for 23 years, and has committed countless crimes since its inception. I ask them to tell their relatives and friends to quit the CCP and its youth organizations and repeat the two mantras often so they can be safe when natural disasters strike and have a bright future. Many people agreed to quit the CCP organizations and thanked our Master.
