(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chen Qinfang from Zijing Sicun Village, Anting Town, was formally arrested on January 26, 2022.
Zhang Jun (gender unknown), a Dengshahe 123 Middle School teacher, has been held in the Sanli Detention Center since last year’s “zero-out” campaign, a nation-wide concerted effort to force every single practitioner on the government’s black lists to renounce Falun Gong. Guards are holding Zhang in the detention center, although the Pulandian Procuratorate returned Zhang’s case to them.
The Changying Police Station and the Lijingyuan Community Committee hired two people to wait in front of Xia Chunfeng’s (gender unknown) home 24 hours a day, and watch Xia since February 1, 2022.
Over 10 officers, only one wearing a uniform, led by Bairin Left Banner Domestic Security Division head Xu Jianfeng, waited in front of the home of Ji Yunzhi (gender unknown) on the early morning of Chinese Lunar New Year, February 1, 2022. When Ji’s family member opened the door to take the garbage out at around 8:00 a.m., they rushed in, ransacked the place, seized about 40 copies of Falun Gong books, and arrested Ji.
Twelve practitioners in the Beichen District were arrested on May 12, 2016. Seven of them, Wang Hui, Ms. Yuan, Niu Yueqin, Fang Keshan, Zhang Shulan, Li Jianchun, and Lan Deman, were released after they completed their prison terms. Ms. Yang is missing. The remaining four, Ms. Hou, Ms. Wang, Ms. Wang’s husband, and Wang (female), were released on bail.
Recently, residential committee clerks went to the homes of the practitioners who were released on bail. They deceived the practitioners into going to the committee office by saying that they needed to “redo the nucleic acid test.” The practitioners were taken from the office to the Beichen District Court by police. A judge threatened them and forced them to sign papers renouncing Falun Gong, and then verbally informed each of them of their sentences. They were released after they were ordered to report to police whenever they were called.
Huayuanjie Police Station officers and community clerks went to the home of Lili’s daughter and harassed the family on the morning of January 27, 2022. Four or five officers thereafter went to Lili’s son-in-law’s work unit, harassed and threatened him.
Ms. Nie Jing will finish her prison term by March 23, 2022. Her situation is unknown because her family has not been allowed to see her ever since she was imprisoned in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison.
She was arrested on September 24, 2019, and sentenced to two-years-and-six-months in prison.
Mr. You Quanfu received a call from Tianpeng Police Station director Xiong at the end of January 2022. Xiong asked for a meeting. Mr. You and his wife, Ms. Yang Qihui, met with four people from the Tianpeng Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Tianpeng Police Station outside their community on January 27. They were asked to renounce Falun Gong. They refused and instead, they told their stories on how they benefited in mind and body from practicing Falun Gong. This was the third harassment meeting they had since the beginning of 2022.
