Only By Cultivating Ourselves Well Can We Do Well in Saving Sentient Beings

(Minghui.org) I went to the market with a fellow practitioner to clarify the truth to people over a weekend. The practitioner said that he’d previously clarified the truth to a specific stall owner, but that stall owner would not quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations; so he asked me to give it a try. I walked over to the stall and said I wanted to buy some vegetables, and I took the opportunity to tell him the truth about Falun Dafa. The stall owner listened, muttered something, and nodded in agreement. Yet when I told him about quitting the CCP, he became quiet. I did not know where his misunderstanding was. I told him that I would walk around in the market and come back to buy later. 

When I returned to his stall, I said that I’d come back to buy the vegetables. Seeing it was me, he said, “You really did come back to buy.” I told him, “I practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance; how can I not make good on what I say? Actually, when I tell you about quitting the CCP, it is really for your own good.” Just as I finished this sentence, the stall owner clenched his fists and said, “I quit, I quit.” His sudden move startled me. A person who had not quit, despite hearing the truth for however long, actually quit just because I made good on what I said. This goes to show the importance of Dafa practitioners’ behavior.

Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) has mentioned in almost every lecture that we must study the Fa more and cultivate ourselves well so we can do well in saving sentient beings. When I read in the Minghui Weekly magazine that some practitioners clarified the truth almost every day, and persuaded large numbers of people to quit the CCP and its youth organizations, I was full of admiration for them. 

Clearing Up Misunderstandings

Since the beginning of my cultivation, I have tried to clear up misunderstandings. Last year, I found a job that has a better work schedule. The morning start time is later, and the workplace is less than a 20-minute-walk from my house. Some days I leave early enough to clarify the truth to people on my way to work. Nowadays, many people know that Dafa is good and understand that the CCP is unjustly persecuting it. However, they do not quit the CCP. It may be because they do not place much emphasis on this matter, or they have some misunderstandings that practitioners need to clear up. For these people, as long as we clarify the truth to them and clear up their doubts, they will immediately quit the CCP. 

I once noticed a man who appeared to be in his 60s sitting on a bench by the roadside, so I went over to greet him and handed him a Dafa truth-clarification amulet. The man said that someone had already given him one, which he’d put in his home. Hearing that a practitioner had already clarified the truth to him, I asked him, “Uncle, since you know that Falun Dafa is good, have you quit the CCP?” He said no, and I asked him why. He said the CCP cannot be eclipsed by anyone. Hearing that, I knew where his doubt was, and I recalled what Master said in “Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day.” 

Based on my own understanding, I asked him, “Throughout so many dynasties, which dynasty did not have its glorious and prosperous period? And during those periods, who would have thought that they would meet their downfall? However, after a period of time their imperial courts became corrupt, their moral integrity degenerated, and they did many bad things. In this way, the dynasty gradually came to its end, and the next dynasty followed. You can see that the CCP has also reached this degenerated state.” 

Then I spoke about the various political and violent movements that the CCP has carried out since its inception, and I discussed the Tiananmen self-immolation, which was fabricated to incite hatred towards Falun Dafa. I also told him that corrupt government officials do not truly do things for the common folk. When things develop to this state, it has come to the time that the CCP is going to meet its downfall. I talked about how the current pandemic and all the other disasters have occurred for this reason, and all those people who have joined the CCP organizations but have yet to quit will be eliminated. I told him that because of this, he should quit the CCP so as to attain safety and peace. Then I spoke about the stone in Guizhou that had the six hidden characters (“The Chinese Communist Party Will Perish”) on it and told him that this current time is an opportunity bestowed upon us by Heaven – so we should cherish it. The man finally understood and agreed to quit the CCP.

On another occasion I noticed a young man, about 30 years old, sitting on a bench eating some pineapple. I thought it was odd to be eating pineapple here in this winter weather, so I felt that he must be here to hear to the truth. I went over to hand him a thumb drive with information about Dafa on it, and introduced the contents of the drive to him. After accepting the thumb drive, he said he already had the software to circumvent the Chinese government’s internet firewall, so he understood about Falun Dafa. I asked him if he had quit the CCP, and he said no. Within just a few sentences, this young man also quit the Party.

Once, I clarified the truth to a retired teacher. This teacher said that she believed very much in what I said, but she was unclear about one matter. She knew that people who did bad things would suffer retribution, but she wondered why some kids who had not done bad things suffered retribution. I told her that throughout various reincarnations people have done many bad things, and thus have to pay for those bad deeds in this lifetime. Heaven is fair and will not malign a good person, nor will Heaven let any bad people escape. After hearing this, she agreed wholeheartedly and agreed to quit the Party. 

Improving in Cultivation: Resolving Issues

Sometimes, I don’t meet anyone with a predestined relationship for many days. And some people just would not quit, despite my clarifying the truth to them. When these situations occur, I know that I need to improve in my cultivation. 

One day, my daughter called me from her office and asked me to take an express parcel box downstairs because the express delivery man would be downstairs soon. I carried the box downstairs, but did not see anyone there; so I called the delivery person. The man said they did not know about this delivery. I called my daughter, and she tried to contact the delivery company but could not get through. 

That day, the temperature was below zero degrees, so it was especially cold. As I wasn’t wearing a jacket, I was so cold that I was shivering. In my heart, I was just about to complain about my daughter and the delivery guy, when I immediately realized it would not be correct to do so. I knew that this should be the time for me to get rid of my attachment. I should be understanding and accommodating instead of complaining. Therefore, I told my daughter that I would bring the box to the express delivery station on my way to work later and I’d send the parcel from there instead. Actually, I had not wanted to leave the house early that day, as the weather was so cold. So I would not have met anyone to clarify the truth to. In the end, in order to send the parcel, I had to leave the house early. 

Along the way, I looked around. Two people were sliding on the ice in the small river not far away, but there was no one in sight on the road. I was a bit disappointed and thought that it would be good if I could meet a young person because I had a thumb drive in my bag (I normally give thumb drives to young people as most young people know how to go online). Anyhow, I walked on slowly. When I turned my head, I saw a person walking towards me. Although the person was wearing a mask and a cap, the way he walked seemed to indicate that he was a young person. I thanked Master in my heart and hurried over. 

I handed the young man the thumb drive and told him it was free of charge and explained the contents to him. He happily said that his grandmother also practices Falun Dafa. Then I asked him, “In that case, you must have already quit the CCP.” He asked me, “What does it mean to quit the CCP organizations?” So I said, “It means to quit the CCP, the Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. Didn’t your grandma tell you this before?” He said no, as his grandma lives in another province. I explained to him why he needs to quit the CCP organizations. He said he had joined both the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. He then quit these two CCP organizations and promised to show the thumb drive to his parents and friends. He even shook my hand to bid me goodbye when he went on his way.

Understanding the CCP Based on Practitioners’ Behavior

From the Fa, we all know that sentient beings can never truly understand Dafa and Dafa practitioners. They just gain their perception of Dafa based on our behavior. Therefore, I pay careful attention to my personal behavior. A few years ago, when I went out to distribute Shen Yun discs with a fellow practitioner, we met three people in a village. I gave them the disc and told them this performance demonstrates the traditional culture of China. I said that the programs are purely compassionate and pure beauty, and that it is very interesting to watch. One of them asked loudly and repeatedly if this was Falun Dafa. The other two people also stared at us with their eyes wide open, waiting for my answer. I was a bit startled, but I immediately calmed down and said in a firm voice, “Our Master taught us to be compassionate, and people from around the world respect him.” That person immediately became silent and all three of them lowered their heads at the same time to look at the disc, as though they had been frozen. I knew that my words were full of steadfast righteous thoughts and disintegrated the evil behind them.

Master’s Benevolence Is Limitless

During the several days after Master’s new article “Wake Up” was published, I read it a few times every day. I felt deeply that time is tight, and Master’s benevolence is limitless. One day, after reading the article again, I thought about it and felt that I have done too little and that I am so far away from what Master requires. Thus, my mood was really lousy. As I was not in a good state, I did not feel like studying the Fa, so I went to bed very early. 

While in a drowsy state, I suddenly felt that I was flying and I seemed to see many high mountains and big valleys. There were many levels, and there were people at each level. I felt very strange. As I flew, I wondered where this place was and when my main consciousness left my body. This is because in the past, when my main consciousness came out of my body, I clearly knew when it happened. So, why did I not know it this time? I wondered, is my main consciousness flying? I needed to verify that it was my main consciousness. So I recited a section of the Fa from Zhuan Falun from memory. Once I ascertained that this was myself, I was at ease. I suddenly understood that it was Master encouraging me not to be depressed.

I know that the path I have taken, and all the things I have done, were all arranged by Master. It just depends on how I walk the path, how I go about doing it, and that I do it well. Master has left all the mighty virtue for us. Thank you, Master!
