1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Jianchun Faces Trial
Mr. Yu Jianchun from Zhifu District was arrested on February 22, 2022. His case was brought to the court. Mr. Yu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was taken to the hospital and monitored by guards from the Muping Detention Center.
The Zhifu District Court was scheduled to try Mr. Yu on April 6. Mr. Yu’s parents have filed a complaint with the Yantai City Procuratorate and the Zhifu District Procuratorate, calling for his immediate release.
2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Yuanxiu Harassed
On the morning of March 18, 2022, four people, including an officer from the Shuicheng Police Station in Jintang County, Domestic Security director Chen Fugang, an official from the Education Bureau and a staff member from the community management office, photographed Ms. Liu Yuanxiu’s home. They also threatened her and said that she was prohibited from going out to distribute Falun Gong materials. If she was caught doing this again, she would be sentenced to prison. They said that they would come to talk to her again, which has brought significant pressure on her family.
3. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yuhong’s Five-year Prison Term Ends in April
Ms. Wang Yuhong was sentenced to five years in prison, which is scheduled to end on April 13, 2022.
