(Minghui.org) A veteran practitioner was arrested at a market for talking to people about Falun Dafa in November 2020. The police held her in the police station overnight and took her home the next day.
By now, many public security personnel and police officers know that Falun Dafa is a good practice, so many practitioners are often released soon after they are arrested. Thus, practitioners who knew her didn’t ask about her arrest.
She was in her 70s and in good health, but she began to experience sickness karma shortly after she was released. Her condition worsened as the days went by. Local practitioners read the teachings with her, sent righteous thoughts, and shared their understandings of the Fa principles, but nothing worked. No one knew why she didn’t get better, and she passed away within six months.
After her death, her husband, who is a practitioner, revealed what had happened. Before she died, she asked him, “Do you think I’m experiencing this because I signed the guarantee statement?” He was shocked.
“The police threatened to detain me if I didn’t, so I signed the statement,” she said. Her husband asked why she didn’t tell him earlier. She said, “I was afraid practitioners would look down on me.” Soon after they had this conversation, she passed away.
Signing the guarantee statements and hiding what she’d done indicated she had serious human attachments, which could manifest as sickness karma. Practitioners tried to help her find the root cause so that she could pass the tribulation, but she didn’t tell them what really happened.
Master extended our lives so that we can cultivate. When she signed the statement to renounce Dafa, failed to admit her mistake to Master, and didn’t share with other practitioners so they could help her, she behaved like a regular person. Birth, old age, illness, and death exist as they do for regular people. One cannot pretend to cultivate, so how could the old forces not take advantage of her loopholes?
Master said,
“But there’s one condition, in this scenario: the days that you may gain beyond those originally allotted to you, are only provided so that you may continue to practice. And so you may be at risk if your thinking gets off track, for your life was supposed to have already ended. The exception to this rule is when someone progresses in practice to the stage where he is no longer subject to the laws of the human realm, which is a different matter.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
Although it has been more than six months since she passed away, I was shocked and saddened yesterday when I learned what really happened.
Her story seems to represent something that can happen to practitioners, which is why I’m sharing it to alert others. One wrong thought can lead to serious consequences. Therefore, we must cultivate dutifully and firmly, do the three things in an upright manner, and conduct ourselves according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Master said,
“Of course many Dafa disciples are doing very well, though having stumbled to varying degrees. It does not matter, Master has seen that some tribulations are not what humans can endure, and they do not count. Stand up when you fall, and that is the most remarkable. Start again and do well! As long as you can always walk along clearheadedly, and are always cultivating and doing what a Dafa disciple should do, you are remarkable and Master will recognize you!” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)
Let’s get up quickly and move forward after a fall—the faster the better, since Master has already paved the way for us.
