(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhan Xihua, in her 50s, from Yantianhe Town was reported to the police and arrested in early April 2022. The police ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhan was taken to the Gulou Psychiatric Hospital and has been held there for over 20 days.
Mr. Guo Haiyang, Mr. Yue Chaoheng, Ms. Guan Qingyun, and Mr. Guan Kaiyu from Qi County were arrested and their homes were ransacked. Officers from the Qi County Domestic Security Division ransacked Mr. Guan’s home on the afternoon of April 23, 2022.
Ms. Zhou Jirong from the Yubei District was cooking breakfast when residential police officer Chai Lu from the Shuanglong Police Station, along with three domestic security officers and a member of the neighborhood committee, broke into her home on April 24, 2022. They ransacked it and confiscated two sets of Falun Gong books (including Master’s newly released lectures Volumes XII-XV), Hong Yin VI, a copy of Zhuan Falun, four cell phones, a memory card, a USB flash drive, desk calendars, a wall calendar, and several hundred yuan worth of paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them.
Ms. Gao Huiyu from Jieheshi Town, Songzi City, was followed and reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials in the countryside on April 3, 2022. Eight officers from the Jieheshi Town Police Station broke into her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, dozens of Falun Gong books, and less than 100 yuan worth of paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them. They did not show a search warrant or produce a list of confiscated items.
Mr. Cheng Yuanyi, in his 70s, was arrested by Guangji Police Station officers on April 12, 2022. He was transferred to the Yongchang Police Station the same day. The following day, Mr. Cheng was not accepted at the detention center due to his high blood pressure. He was released.
Yan Yuhua from the Development Zone was caught by surveillance cameras while posting Falun Gong materials in early March 2021. She was released on bail for one year, which ended in March 2022.
Yan’s case was turned over to the Changli County Procuratorate a few days ago.
Zeng Qizheng, a residential police officer from Longquanyi District, and two other people went to Ms. Shen Sufang’s home on April 12, 2022. They photographed her.
Four or five officers from the Shuangyushu Police Station in the Haidian District broke into Mr. Liu Yujian’s home on April 25, 2022. They refused to let Mr. Liu leave and prevented him from going to work. Two officers stayed at the entrance to his building for surveillance. There were also several police cars and people in plainclothes downstairs. Earlier, the police station and the neighborhood committee pressured Mr. Liu to “transform,” which he refused.
Chen Jie, a residential police officer from the Changjiang Village Police Station, Tongyuanju Sub-district, the Nan’an District, and a police assistant harassed Ms. Liu Jinxiu and took pictures of her on April 22, 2022.
A group of unidentified people went to Mr. Du Anjin’s home in Fenghuangtangjia Village, Daotou Town, on the morning of February 14, 2022. They tore up the couplet posted on the door, ransacked the place, and confiscated a picture of Master Li teaching Falun Gong exercises, a digital TV converter, wall calendars, and printed materials.
Ms. Yang Junyan, 53, from Chaoyangchuan Town was sentenced to three years in prison in 2021. She has been held in the Yanji Detention Center.
A few days ago, the detention center notified her family that Ms. Yang had been having symptoms of a mental collapse in the detention center for a week. Her family has not yet heard if Ms. Yang has been taken to a hospital for examination or treatment. The detention center did not hand her over to her family for prompt medical care, either.
Ms. Yang was healthy and cheerful before she was arrested. She had her own house and store. After the police began harassing her, she lost her house and store and had a hard time making a living.
On the morning of April 24, 2022, Ms. Cai Zefang, in her 80s, heard knocking on the door. She opened it and saw three police officers standing outside.
Two male officers grabbed her arms, carried her from the second floor to a police car downstairs, and pushed her into it. They took her directly to the Suian Police Station in Yingshan County.
At the police station the officers searched her and confiscated 200 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them and a Falun Gong keepsake.
Ms. Cai went on a hunger strike and was released at 8 p.m. that evening. The officers told her that she had to go to the police station whenever they contacted her.
