It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a Tieling County, Liaoning Province resident died on January 11, 2020, after enduring nine years in prison for practicing Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Wei Guojun was first given three years at Tieling Forced Labor Camp in late 2000, when he was 33. The labor camp guards, led by Wang Zhibin, often handcuffed and beat Mr. Wei and other detained Falun Gong practitioners, each time for at least two hours.
Although Mr. Wei and four other practitioners managed to escape from the labor camp on September 27, 2002, they were arrested again in 2003, after months of displacement. Several officers hit his head with bricks during the arrest. Blood was all over his face and stained his clothes. Another officer Wang Qingyou hit his head with a big metal cooking spoon, while officer Gao Fenghua shouted at him, “We don’t have to follow the law with you. If you die [from the beating], we will just bury you.”
Mr. Wei was later sentenced to nine years in the Panjin City Prison. He was frequently tortured and once shocked with electric batons all over his body.
When Mr. Wei was released in 2012, he was unable to find a job due to the persecution. He led a destitute life and couldn’t afford heating in the freezing winter. He developed medical problems in late 2019 and passed away on January 11, 2020. He was 53.
