(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 52 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The Shifang City Court scheduled a hearing for Mr. Gong Xueliang and his wife Ms. Wang Zhongqiong on April 28, 2022. The couple’s lawyers received notice that the court agreed to an extension of the hearing and no trial would be held this month.
Ms. Jiao Lifeng and her sister Ms. Jiao Lixiang from the Muping District went to residential buildings to distribute information about Falun Gong on the morning of April 26, 2022. They were spotted by security guards and arrested.
Ms. Chen Ping, a teacher at West China Normal University, was tried in the Shunqing District Court on the afternoon of April 21, 2022.
Ms. Xu Haitang from the Tanggu District, Binhai New Area, was abused in Tianjin Women’s Prison. She suffered a heart attack at the end of March 2022 and was in critical condition. She was released on medical parole and has returned home.
Ms. Shi Huifeng’s home in the Liwan District was ransacked on April 8, 2022. Later, the homes of four other practitioners, including Ms. Guo Liyun, in her 80s, were also ransacked.
It was reported that Mr. Chu Jidong was mistreated in the Yinchuan City Detention Center, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Mr. Chu has been on a hunger strike for more than 90 days.
Ms. Tang Ying was harassed by staff members of the residential community management office and the police at 9 p.m. on April 20, 2022. They wanted to photograph her, but she refused to allow them to.
Ms. Shu Siying, in her 30s, picked up her child from school on the afternoon of April 13, 2022. Shortly after she got home, officers from the Wuluo Town Police Station and Zhongding Village officials seized her and took her to a brainwashing center in Hujindian Town. Ms. Liu Jinhua was also held in the brainwashing center.
Around April 12, 2022, several people broke into the home of Ms. Xiao Xiaoping, in her 60s, to take her to a brainwashing center in Hujindian Town. Ms. Xiao was not at home.
That evening, a black car was parked near Ms. Xiao’s home for several hours. At 9:30 p.m. people broke into her home again, but she was not there. They ransacked the place and confiscated three copies of Minghui Weekly.
Recently, someone pretending to be a Falun Gong practitioner went to Ms. Xiao’s daughter’s workplace to harass her and asked where her mother was. Ms. Xiao has been harassed to the point that she is unable to return home.
Three plainclothes officers, including Wu Yongdong from the Yubei District Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Tan Xiuying’s home and ransacked it without showing their badges on April 25, 2022. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, a copy of Collected Fa Teachings (Vol XV), a computer, an iPhone, and an Apple tablet, among other personal items. Ms. Tan kept asking them to show legal paperwork, but they did not have any.
Zhu Bin and Wang Chunyong from the Shengcai Brainwashing Center of Shengli Oilfield, Li Yaping from the Letters and Calls Office, and Liu Yinchuan from the Zhuangsan Management Sub-section went to the Zhuangsan Management Sub-section apartments in the Zhuangxi Oil Production Plant. They again threatened Mr. Zhou Zhenmin and tried to coax him into signing paperwork, which he firmly refused to do.
After 5 p.m. Mr. Zhou’s wife called him several times but could not reach him. She was concerned about his safety. Liu Yinchuan, Party secretary of the Zhuangsan Management Sub-section, asked Liu Weidong and Liang Hongjun in a subordinate office to seal Mr. Zhou’s doorway and prevent him from leaving his apartment.
Ms. Cao Chunmei and her sister Ms. Cao Meiying were arrested on August 20, 2021. Their cases have been handled by the Huahu Police Station, and they are facing prosecution.
Last year, the sisters were held in a brainwashing center and a detention center for a total of 41 days. They did not sign anything, refused to comply with any demands, and returned home on October 1.
On the morning of April 1, 2022, officer Gao Weibing from the Huahu Police Station seized the sisters from their homes and took them to the police station. The officers pressured the sisters to sign the case files, but they refused to.
At 2 p.m., officer Gao took the sisters to the Huangshigang District Procuratorate so that he could leverage officials there to force them to sign the paperwork. Assistant prosecutor Huang issued the sisters notices of indictment.
Mr. Wang Yaowen, Mr. Yu Zhonghua, and Mr. Jia Liyin have been held in the Qi County Prison for over two years.
It was reported recently that in the past two months, they were given only one steamed bun per meal. They also had to take care of a seriously ill patient, managing his daily life and helping him eat and drink. Mr. Jia was ordered to bring food from the cafeteria for the group of 20 inmates every day.
Practitioners known to have been arrested by the Huizhan Police Department on April 20, 2022, are:Ms. Wang Xiuling from No. 9 Section in the Chengfeng area;Ms. Wang Fajuan from No.1 Section in the Donghu area;Zhao Qingyun from the No. 8 Section in the Donghu area;Ms. Wang Shuhua from the Donghu High-rise;Ms. Chen Hailian from a section in the Donghu area;Ms. Zhou Xianfeng from the No. 4 Section in the Donghu area;Elderly Mr. Deng, his wife Ms. Li, and elderly Ms. Dai from the No. 9 Section in the Donghu area;Mr, Zheng Xinwei from the No. 10 Section in the Donghu area;Ms. Duan Xiaorong from the Shangcheng Section of the Donghu area;Ms. Yuan Lixue from the Ranghulu District;Ms. Kong Xiushi and her daughter Ms. Wang Xiaomeng from Dongfeng New Village;Ms. Liu Guifen and Ms. Xu Shuwen from the Houlonggang Community;Ms. Huang from the Lishui area;Ms. Li Yanyun and Ms. Lu from the Xinchao area;Ms. Li Yaru from Huijing Residential Community;Elderly Ms. Cao from Chuangyecheng area;Ms. Zhou Guilan, Ms. Gu, and another doctor from the Yinyi area.
According to a police officer, more than 100 practitioners were arrested. Further details are pending.
The police pried open Mr. Cao Zhongrong’s door and arrested him on the evening of March 13, 2022.
Several practitioners including Ms. Wang Huilin from the Fengnan District were sentenced to prison by the Luannan County Court on August 27, 2021. Ms. Wang was sentenced to four years and six months.
Ms. Wang refused to cooperate with the authorities and did not stay at home. Since the beginning of this year, the police have repeatedly shown up at Ms. Wang’s home.
On January 28, 2022, Zheng Liankui, director of the Huanggezhuang Police Station, broke into Ms. Wang’s home and asked her family where she was.
On January 31, Chinese New Year’s Eve, Hu Kai, deputy director of the police station, and two other people went to Ms. Wang’s home again to harass her.
On February 14, director Zheng and deputy director Hu went to Ms. Wang’s home. Hu took photos and ordered Ms. Wang’s family to help locate her.
On April 22, 2022, director Zheng and deputy director Hu went to Ms. Wang’s home again, but she was there. Hu kept videotaping. Zheng said that, if not for the pandemic, she would have been taken to prison immediately. He threatened Ms. Wang and said that she had to go to the police station whenever she got a phone call. They asked for Ms. Wang’s husband’s cell phone number and threatened her husband and their daughter.
Police officers monitoring Ms. Sun Guizhi and her residence set up surveillance equipment downstairs at her home. In addition, they often stayed right outside her door, day and night, to listen for any movements inside.
They sometimes went into her neighbor’s house, which is the next entrance to the east of Ms. Sun. They went out to the open space outside her neighbors' attic, climbed over the railings, and looked into Ms. Sun’s attic window from the outside. They sometimes pounded on the attic window or ran downstairs from outside the attic to pound on her door when they could not see her through the attic window.
Officer Zhang Haijun from the Mengzhuiwan Police Station and Zhang Hai from the Peihualu Community Management Office knocked on Ms. Lei Xinghua’s door on April 21, 2022, claiming they were checking the family’s household registration.
When Ms. Lei’s non-practitioner husband opened the door, they started taking pictures.
On April 21, four people, including officers from the police station and staff members from the community management office, went to Ms. Pan Jurong’s home to take pictures, but she stopped them.
Officers from the Tongdong Road Police Station in the Tiefeng District went to Ms. Jian Chunlan’s home on the morning of April 26, 2022. At the time Ms. Hong Yinguang was visiting Ms. Jian. The officers arrested both women and ransacked the place. Both Ms. Jian and Ms. Hong were released on bail that evening.
