Additional Persecution News from China - May 16, 2022 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Xiaodan and Ms. Wang Ying Arrested
3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners in Their 70s Arrested
4. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Feng Yueqin Arrested
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Ying and Ms. Zhang Hui Arrested
6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Jiying and Ms. Wang Jirong Harassed
7. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Defan, 92, Harassed
8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xing Ailing and Her Family Arrested
9. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Yingbo Harassed Repeatedly
10. [Daye City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Xixia’s Home Ransacked
11. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Yuxiang Harassed
12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Jiamin Sent to Brainwashing Center

1. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

On May 15, 2022, officers from the Domestic Security Division of Li County arrested seven practitioners, including Ms. He Xia, Ms. Wang Yuemin, Ms. Cao Hongmei, Ms. Cui Shumei, Qi Luxin (gender unknown), Ms. Lu Na, and Ms. Liao Xiaoyan. They returned home on May 17.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Xiaodan and Ms. Wang Ying Arrested

Officers from the Jinzhou City Police Department ransacked six practitioners’ homes on May 12, 2022. It was confirmed that Ms. He Xiaodan and Ms. Wang Ying were arrested and taken to Linghai City. The other four practitioners’ situations are unknown.

3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners in Their 70s Arrested

Ms. Liu Guiyun, in her 70s, from Xinfu District, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Yong’an Police Station on February 22, 2022. The police then ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books.

Ms. Chen Ying was arrested around the same time. They were detained in the Nangou Detention Center and returned home after being held for 37 days. Ms. Cui Yuqiu, in her 70s, is still held there.

4. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Feng Yueqin Arrested

Ms. Feng Yueqin was arrested and taken to the local police station on May 6, 2022. She was then taken to the Songshan District Public Department. The police confiscated a few bills printed with Falun Gong information and took photos. They then forcibly took her fingerprints. Ms. Feng was released around 11 p.m.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Ying and Ms. Zhang Hui Arrested

Ms. Luo Ying and Ms. Zhang Hui were arrested by officers from the Xihua Police Station in the Jinniu District when they talked to people about Falun Gong on May 3, 2022. They were detained for 10 days and released on May 14, 2022.

6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Jiying and Ms. Wang Jirong Harassed

Li Kai led officers from the Majing Police Station in Majing Town, Shifang City, to Ms. Xiao Jiying’s and Ms. Wang Jirong’s homes. They harassed and photographed them.

7. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Defan, 92, Harassed

Tan Zhi, the chief of the Xingren Township Police Station, led other officers to 92-year-old Mr. Liu Defan’s home in Lingshui County on July 6, 2021. They harassed him and photographed the place.

Officers led by Liu Jun went to Mr. Liu’s home and harassed him again on March 15, 2022. They photographed his home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xing Ailing and Her Family Arrested

Officers from the Bachalu Township Police Station arrested a practitioner from Panpengdian Village, Bachalu Township, on May 13, 2022. They then arrested Ms. Xing Ailing and her nearly-80-year-old father on the same day. They later went back to her home, arrested her daughter-in-law, and ransacked her home. They confiscated her printers and computers, more than 10,000 yuan in cash, and a generator.

Her father returned home that day. Ms. Xing and her daughter-in-law have been detained in a hotel.

9. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Yingbo Harassed Repeatedly

Two officers from the Dongxicheng Police Station went to 79-year-old Mr. Wu Yingbo’s home in mid-April 2022 and harassed him. They asked him if he still practiced Falun Gong. They then searched the place and confiscated a copy of Falun Gong’s main book Zhuan Falun.

Mr. Wu was harassed and verbally abused by the local community committee clerks five times.

10. [Daye City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Xixia’s Home Ransacked

Officers from the Daye City Police Department Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, and the Mingshan Police Station went to Ms. Zhu Xixia’s home on May 6, 2022.

Ms. Zhu was not there. They broke into her home and ransacked the place, and confiscated personal belongings.

11. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Yuxiang Harassed

Four plainclothes officers went to Ms. Jin Yuxiang’s home in Zhangbei County. They asked her if she put up Falun Gong banners and they confiscated her photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Jiamin Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Jiamin was arrested on May 12, 2021, after surveillance cameras recorded her distributing Falun Gong materials. She was sentenced to one year in prison. Her family received a notice from the Gaojiatai community center that she’d been transferred to a brainwashing center after she served her term.
