(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Cui Ying was arrested by officers from the Zhiyuan Police Station on June 11, 2022. Someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers located her via security monitor system, stalked and arrested her. Her home was ransacked that night. Her Falun Gong books and other items were confiscated. The officers threatened to place her in criminal detention for nine days and ordered her to sign a document. She refused. She was released after 1:00 a.m. on June 12.
The officers secretly monitored Ms. Cui after she was released. They stalked and harassed people who visited her home or had contact with her.
Mr. Xu Wenlong was arrested by officers from the Zhiyuan Police Station around 9:00 p.m. on April 6, 2022, when he was distributing Falun Gong flyers near the police station. The officers cuffed his hands behind his back that night and wrapped a chain around his hands. He remained in handcuffs and chains until he was released on bail the following afternoon.
Ms. Zhang Dianfeng, 70, of Yaojia Town, was arrested by officers from the Zhiyuan Police Station on July 4, 2021. She was detained in the Jinan City Detention Center in Zhonggong Town.
Mr. Wang Hongtao was arrested at work by officer Yi Guanghui and others from the Zhiyuan Police Station on April 8, 2021. He was detained for 15 days. He had an out of town business trip on October 13, 2021. Before the trip, he received a harassing call from the police station, and he was also harassed at home. The day of the trip, officers from the Zhiyuan Police Station intercepted him at the high speed train station and searched him.
Ms. Zhan Yucai was stalked and arrested by officers from the Zhiyuan Police Station around 9:00 p.m. on May 12, 2018, for posting Falun Gong flyers. She was held in the Jinan City Detention Center for more than seven months. The officers filed the case against her to the procuratorate. She was sentenced to three years in prison by the Lixia District Court on December 11, 2018.
Ms. Pang (first name unknown), 68, was arrested at home by six officers, led by Zhang Xinru, from the Zhiyuan Police Station on the morning of January 15, 2016. They questioned her in the police station, then detained her for seven days in the Jinan City No. 3 Detention Center.
Over twenty practitioners and their family members in Xiamen City, Longyan City, and Quanzhou City were arrested on June 18, 2022. Their homes were ransacked.
Mr. Lin Peisheng, Ms. Zhuang Yurong, Ms. Zheng Jinqing, and Zhuang Dongjie (gender unknown), and others from Hui’an County, Quanzhou City, were arrested after 10:00 p.m. on June 18, 2022, when they were reading Falun Gong books. A group of plainclothes officers broke the door open and arrested every practitioner at the scene as well as the sister of Zhuang Dongjie (non-practitioner). The officers then ransacked each practitioner’s home, seized their Falun Gong books, cell phones, computers, printers, and other items.
Chen Burong and Peng Hanyu (couple) were arrested at home on the evening of June 18, 2022, by Quanzhou police. The officers seized their Falun Gong books, computers, and other items. They also arrested their aunt, Ms. Lian (non-practitioner) and others.
Ms. Huang Huaqiong, her sister and brother-in-law (both non-practitioners and working out-of-town), Lian Qingshui, Wang Chunying, Lin Yongchuan, Lin’s daughter, Mr. Huang Yongbin, Mr. Huang Xiaobin, Ms. Lin Wen, Ms. Yu Baoying, and Ms. Wu Huibin were arrested on the evening of June 18, 2022.
Three practitioners in the Caisang District, Ms. Tong Yingping, her sister Ms. Tong Jinping, and Mr. Li Yilong, were arrested on the morning of June 16, 2022. Ms. Tong Jinping is being held in the Jiujiang City Detention Center. The other two were released.
Ms. Tong Yinping was arrested at home after 5:00 a.m. on June 16, 2022. Director Luo Bing of the Yongquan Township Police Station in Jiujiang City, director Zhang Ke and deputy director He of the Guilin Police Station in Ruichang City, and several officers broke the metal door of her home and arrested her. They ransacked her home, seized a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, mp3 players, calendars, Falun Gong books, and other items. They then arrested her sister, Ms. Tong Jinping, and ransacked her home.
Mr. Li Yilong was arrested in his dorm provided by his workplace on the morning of June 16, 2022. His notebook computer, music player, cell phone, car, and seven Falun Gong books were confiscated by police.
The three practitioners were taken to the Pencheng Police Station in Ruichang City. They were cuffed to metal chairs and were continuously interrogated for over 20 hours. Ms. Tong Yinping and Mr. Li were released on bail the next night. Ms. Tong Jinping was transferred to the Jiujiang City Detention Center. She has been held there since then.
Ms. Zhang Yu’e was sentenced to a year in prison by the Linghai City Court at the end of October 2021. She was taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison before Chinese New Year in 2022. She has been incarcerated there ever since.
Mr. Sun Lianyi of Lixin County was formally arrested. He is being held in the Woyang County Detention Center.
Ms. Song Xiaohui was arrested around June 17, 2022.
Ms. Fan Wanxia and Ms. Wang Qiuju of the Baoshan District have been under 24 hour surveillance by the Liuhang Police Station since June 23, 2022. The police claim that they are monitoring practitioners because the city is hosting a CCP conference. They have put practitioners under 24-hour surveillance since July 1, 2021.
Ms. Wang Yaping has been under 24-hour surveillance since June 23, 2022, by people sent by the Jiading Town Comprehensive Management Office. They claimed they did it because it was almost the CCP’s anniversary, July 1st.
Ms. Wang’s ex-husband was called to the Comprehensive Management Office for a “talk” at noon on June 24, 2022.
Ms. Zhao Yanru of Xuzhuang Village, Gudian Town, Wangdu County, was arrested by officers from the Gudian Town Police Station on June 22, 2022. She was released at 9:00 p.m. the same day after officers extorted 2,000 yuan from her family.
The officers ransacked her home and seized a picture of Falun Gong’s founder.
Ms. Liu Ling, 50, of Huangchuan County, was arrested by officers from the Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division and the Dongcheng Police Station in Huangchuan County on June 14, 2022. They broke into her home, ransacked the place, and seized her computers, printers, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong books, about 20,000 yuan in cash, and other items. She was incarcerated in the Yinyang No. 1 Detention Center on June 15, 2022.
Practitioners from Huangchuan County, Ms. Wan Guirong, in her 70s, Ms. Zhang Suling, in her 60s, and Ms. Wu Shaorong, in her 50s, were arrested on June 17, 2022. Officers told them to come to police station to sign documents. When they went there they were arrested. They are being held in the Xinyang City Detention Center.
Mr. Chen Xianggou was harassed at home by director Zhao from the Silipeng Police Station, secretary Lei and director Chen from the Yankuang Community on the morning of June 24, 2022. They tried to force him to go to the Tian’e Brainwashing Center. He did not comply.
That morning, Ms. Fang Qiuping was taken from her home to the Tian’e Brainwashing Center by officers from the Silipeng Police Station and clerks from the Yankuang Community.
Mr. Yang Wenming who lives in the Chenguan area was held in the Tian’e Brainwashing Center for a week, from June 16 to June 23, 2022. Mr. Zhang Xiangfa was released from the center the same day.
Ms. Li Shuping of Chicheng County was arrested at home around 10:00 a.m. on June 17, 2022. Four officers from the county Domestic Security Division went to her home. Officer Zhang Yan held her hands, while the other three searched each room. They tore pictures off the walls, seized over ten books, including the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and other items. They said they would take her to the police department.
At the police department, officers questioned her about the source of the books. They took her to the Chengguan Police Station. Officers collected her fingerprints, foot prints, blood sample, and other data. She did not comply. They then used force. They ordered her to sign a five days’ detention document. She refused. She was released after 4:00 p.m.
Ms. Yuan Meiyun was harassed at home on June 7, 2022, by six people, including the mayor and secretary of Nanyue Town, Huang Yong from the police department, and Tan Siwei from the Jinyue Community. They demanded she stop practicing Falun Gong, and said, “Because you practice Falun Gong, your grandson won’t get a higher education or be allowed to enlist in the army.”
