(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Four practitioners, Ms. Ji Guiqin, Ms. Guo Liyun, Ms. Wang Yaxin, and Ms. Du Zhonghua, gathered in Ms. Du Zhonghua’s home when her ex-husband went there on the morning of July 7, 2022. He tried to blackmail the practitioners but failed. He then reported them to the police. The four practitioners were arrested by officers from the Shuiwuzhuang Police Station. They were later placed under 7-day detention and are currently being held in the Tangshan Detention House.
Ms. Liu Hongxia was held in the Dalian Detention Center. She started a hunger strike on February 14, 2022 and was later taken to the Xinhua Hospital. She was sent back to the detention center on July 7, 2022. Ms. Liu was scheduled to be tried in court on July 13, 2022. Her family members were not allowed to attend the hearing.
Officers from the Jianshe Street Police Station in the Decheng District went to Ms. Wang Shuying’s home and Mr. Yu Yongli’s home on July 7 and July 8, 2022 respectively. The practitioners were not at home. The police called their family members and informed them that they would return regularly.
Ms. Liu Junqing was taken to the Development District Detention House a few days ago. Village committee members and her family went to the police department to meet her on July 6, 2022. They pressured her to give up practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Chen Lin was arrested by officers from the Chengdong Police Station in the Gaoxin District when she was distributing truth clarifying materials on the morning of July 8, 2022. Her home was ransacked that afternoon and all her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was placed under a 15-day detention and is currently detained in the Xiaogan Detention House.
Mr. Xia Hongmin was arrested by officers from the Yongyang Police Station when he was talking to people about Falun Gong in the Yongyang Market in Laishui County on the morning of July 8, 2022. He was released around noon. His scooter was confiscated. Mr. Xia was arrested again at his workplace on July 9, 2022. He is currently detained in the Laishui County Detention House.
Ms. Li Xiuyun and her husband (non-practitioner) were arrested at home on the afternoon of July 7, 2022. Her husband was released later. She was detained for 15 days.
Mr. Zhang Peixun was arrested on the afternoon of July 9, 2022.
Xu Yongqing was scheduled to be tried online in the Lishui City Detention Center at 9:30 a.m. on July 11, 2022.
This is an update about the situations of five practitioners in the Liushi Special District: Ms. Mao Guiyun, 76, was sentenced to five years in prison; Ms. Duan Huaiyan, 61, was sentenced to three years in prison; and Ms. Liu Ronghua, 64, was sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Yang Hongping, about 70, has been detained for a long time. Ms. Qi Jianhua, about 50, was released after being detained for two years.
Mr. Sun Chuanjie from the Xiashan District was arrested by officers from Changyi City on June 25, 2022.
The police went to Mr. Zhao Wengguang’s home in the Jinlin District on July 7, 2022. No one was at home, so the officers broke in and confiscated his Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.
Mr. Zhang Xiling, in his sixties, lives in the Xiding Village, Songlin Town. He was arrested in late June 2022, and his home was ransacked. His computer and printer were confiscated. Mr. Zhang is currently being held in the Linqing Detention Center.
Two police officers, led by village official Xu Tao, went to Ms. Gai Zhaoyun’s home in Handian Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng District, at around 2 p.m. on July 9, 2022. They arrested Ms. Gai, ransacked her home, and confiscated some Falun Gong books. Ms. Gai was taken to the Harbin Detention House at around 6 p.m. that day.
Mr. Yan Hui and Ms. Zhang Meilan were arrested by officers in Dangshan County when they were talking to people about Falun Gong in the Huifeng Market on the morning of July 9, 2022. The police ransacked Mr. Yan Hui’s home around 1 p.m. and confiscated his computer, printer, some cash, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and his Falun Gong books. It is unknown where the two practitioners were detained.
Ms. Zhao Qin was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested at around 8 p.m. on June 7, 2022. She was released around 1 a.m. Ms. Zhao was given ten days of detention on July 5, 2022. The sentence was temporarily suspended because her family members desperately needed her care.
Ms. Zhou Meili was arrested by officers from the Xi’er Road Police Station a month ago. Her case is still being investigated.
Ms. Zhang Shufeng was photographed and reported to police when she was talking to someone about Falun Gong on June 27, 2022. Several officers from the Xiaogan Police Station went to her home at around 4 p.m. on June 28, 2022. They ransacked the home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and truth clarifying materials. Ms. Zhang was taken to the police station and was released at around 10 p.m. that evening. Her family members were told to monitor her. Plainclothes officers were seen outside her home.
Ms. Jia Yanru, 66, was arrested at home by officers from the Chengzi Police Station in the Mentougou District on July 7, 2022. The police first turned off the electircal power at a switch outside the apartment, and then entered her home when she went out to check the power. The police confiscated more than 80 Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, and other personal belongings.
Ms. Jia has been subjected to forced labor multiple times, and sentenced to prison twice for a total of ten years.
Mr. Song Jingke, around 50 or 60 years old, was arrested on June 27, 2022, and his home was ransacked.
Seven people from the Tianhui Police Station and the Dawan Community went to Ms. Huang Chunhua’s home on July 1, 2022. They pressured her to sign a paper, but she refused. Several people grabbed her hand and forcefully pressed her fingerprints on the paper.
Ms. Tan Mei from the Chancheng District has been under residential surveillance for one year, from June 4, 2021 to June 2022. She has been constantly followed and harassed. Ten officers went to her home at around 7 p.m. on June 1, 2022. They photographed everywhere.
