Germany: 23 Years of Peacefully Resisting the Persecution

(Minghui.org) The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, also known as the German Arc de Triomphe, has witnessed Germany history for more than 200 years, including Berlin being divided into two parts and then reunited. Every Saturday Falun Dafa practitioners dressed in yellow gather at Pariser Platz and do the exercises to soothing music. They also tell people about the persecution in China.

On July 20, 1999 the CCP initiated a nation-wide persecution in China to eradicate Falun Dafa and practitioners. Every year practitioners around the world hold events to tell people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, and call for it to end. This year marks the 23^rd year.

Practitioners held a parade through Berlin’s city center on Saturday, July 16, 2022. They called on people to help end this persecution in China. They put up banners in Pariser Platz as usual. The messages on the banners tell people that practitioners live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They have been imprisoned and tortured for 23 years by the CCP. The CCP even kills them for their organs.

They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, talked to passersby and shared their personal experiences and their positive changes after practicing Falun Dafa. Tourists from all over the world read the information, received materials in several languages and talked with practitioners.

“I just passed by and saw the banner with the words Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I thought it was really good. I came to see what they were practicing, and I was stunned when I saw the words Live Organ Harvesting,” a Spanish woman said. “I was shocked and speechless. This is the first time I’ve heard about this. It is not enough to imprison and torture people who adhere to their beliefs. They even harvest their organs for huge profits. This is not something that a human would do. It is beyond the bottom line of human beings.”

She immediately signed the petition and said, “I will post this information on my social media and share it with all the people I know. Maybe together we can exert pressure on the CCP.”

Konstanze said she first heard about the organ harvesting from live practitioners in Cologne three weeks ago. When she saw practitioners in front of the Brandenburg Gate, she signed the petition and said, “I feel that life is precious. Organ harvesting must be stopped. The CCP’s persecution of human rights must be stopped.” She hope that the signatures “can let more people know about the CCP’s crimes and end this persecution as soon as possible.”

Fatima said she read the information about CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa many times on social media, “I couldn’t help crying. This is not something a human being would do. It is a crime that goes beyond the bottom line of human beings.” She said that the persecution must be stopped.

Kaline from Ukraine signed the petition to support practitioners in calling for an end to the persecution.

Kaline from Ukraine was shocked when she saw the a depicting a practitioner being tortured. A practitioner told her that the CCP uses various torture methods to persecute practitioners who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He also told her what Falun Dafa is. Kaline signed the petition.

Maria Sterkhof signed the petition and said she believed that more people should know that the persecution is still taking place, “We have to let everyone know about this. The more people that know, the faster we can stop it.”

Her neighbor Martina Grassler added, “It is very important to let all people know about the the CCP’s evil deeds.”

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
