(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Changfu Taken to Prison Hospital
Mr. Zhao Changfu was held in the Kangjiashan Prison. At the end of 2021 he suffered from kidney and heart failure among other illness symptoms, and was in critical condition. He was taken to the No. 4 Hospital in Shenyang and the Xinkang Prison Hospital for treatment.
Mr. Zhao’s physical condition has now deteriorated. He has lost sight in one eye, and has blurred vision in the other. He can only see a range of about one meter. His thighs and calves are swollen, and he is weak.
Mr. Zhao asked for treatment, but the prison authorities refused to let him go to the No. 1 and No. 2 hospitals which are affiliated with Shenyang Medical University. He was only allowed to go to the No. 4 hospital. No beds have been available in the No. 4 hospital since March, which resulted in his treatment being delayed. Mr. Zhao’s health keeps deteriorating. His family asked that he be released on medical parole, but the prison authorities refused.
2. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xing Ailing and Daughter-in-Law Held in Detention Center
Ms. Xing Ailing and her daughter-in-law Xiaoyan from Panpengdian Village, Bachalu Township, were arrested and taken to Guan County Detention Center around June 5, 2022.
3. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Hua and Her Husband Mr. Hao Zhiqiang Held in Detention Center
Ms. Chen Hua is quarantined in Kazuo County due to the pandemic, and is about to be taken to the Chaoyang City Detention Center. Her non-practitioner husband Mr. Hao Zhiqiang is being held in Kazuo County Detention Center.
4. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Xiuying Harassed
In May 2022, Ms. Wei Xiuying’s husband from Jincheng Town, suddenly received a call from someone who claimed to be with the Jincheng Community. The person asked if Ms. Wei was at home. After a while two men came to Ms. Wei’s home and said they were from the Linghai City Court. They wanted Ms. Wei’s hospital diagnosis report, and told the family to prepare for a trial next week.
On the afternoon of June 7, the Party secretary from the Jincheng Community, the Jincheng Police Station deputy director Wang Jianwei, and three Linghai City Court staff members came to Ms. Wei’s home. Ms. Wei’s husband showed them the hospital diagnosis. He told them that Ms. Wei’s blood pressure readings were 240/105 mmHg, and she suffered from heart failure and brain atrophy. A doctor told him that even the 120 medical emergency center would not bother to dispatch an ambulance given her situation.
5. [Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xinzhi Harassed
Two police officers went to Ms. Zhang Xinzhi’s home on June 7, 2022, and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun.
6. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Since mid-May 2022, the Jiansanjiang Police Department has dispatched officers and domestic security personnel from various farm police stations to secretly track down, monitor and arrest practitioners in the Jiansanjiang area.
Ms. Yu Fengxian just returned home around 4 p.m. on May 27, when three men and one woman suddenly broke in. They claimed to be domestic security officers. They started to ransack her home. They confiscated a cell phone, all her Falun Gong books, printed materials, and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong.
Afterwards they took Ms. Yu to the Jiangsanjiang Police Department for interrogation. They took turns repeatedly interrogating her, trying to find out the source of the truth clarification materials. They unlocked her mobile phone and pressured her to reveal Falun Gong practitioners’ names which she kept on her contact list using pseudonyms. They also showed her a previously recorded surveillance video of her distributing Falun Gong materials. They threatened her and said that they had information about everything she did. The interrogation did not end until after 10 p.m. on May 28 and Ms. Yu was released on bail. They demanded that she not leave Jiansanjiang City, her cell phone must be left on all the time, her phone number must not be changed, and she had to come to the police station whenever she was told to.
On the morning of May 28, six officers broke into Zhang’s shop to arrest him. Zhang had left earlier that morning to restock the inventory, so the officers failed to arrest Zhang.
7. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yuanfen and Ms. Chen Dingrong Harassed
Xiao Yijun, Party secretary of Li’an Community Management Office in Tianpeng Town, led staff member Wang Ling, Party secretary Chen Jun of Qili Community Management Office, and Tian Jun from the 610 Office went to Ms. Chen Yuanfen’s home on June 13, 2022. They told her to sign paperwork, which she refused. A woman wanted to take a picture of Ms. Chen, but she stopped her. They left in about twenty minutes.
Around 1:30 p.m. on June 13, Yao Zongbing from the Puzhao Community Management Office went to Ms. Chen Dingrong’s home. He asked her and her child what she was doing, what her husband Mr. Wang Ershi were doing, and where the child worked. He wrote everything down in a notebook. When Ms. Chen’s child heard that Yao was going to take a photo of Ms. Chen, the child stepped up and stopped him.
8. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
Falun Gong practitioners in the Rongcheng District were recently harassed by police officers and community management personnel. The harassed practitioners included Shaojun, Ms. Yao Jingjiao, Jiang Biyin, and Ms. Wu Yueyin.
In addition, Ms. Zhong Peizhen from Meidou Village, Rongdong Sub-district, Rongcheng District, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
9. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yan Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yan was arrested in the hallway of her apartment building by officers from the Domestic Security Division in Hulin City and the Xigang Police Station on May 25, 2022. The officers took her to the Hulin City Police Department.
Because Ms. Zhang did not bring her nucleic acid test card, the officers took her back to her home to get it. While they were there the officers ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, 3 Falun Gong books, DVDs, a music player, desk calendars, and New Year paintings.
That afternoon the domestic security officers called Ms. Zhang’s son and asked him to take them to Ms. Zhang’s home to take pictures.
At 6 p.m. the domestic security officers brought a bail notice. The police officers told her son to deposit 20,000 yuan in order to get his mother released and said it was because of the pandemic.
10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
On the afternoon of May 12, 2022, Yang Weibo, director of Hongguantun Township Police Station in Chiping District, and staff member Ma from the community management office went to the home of Yu Fuling (gender unknown). They confiscated a copy of “On Dafa” and took pictures.
On May 13, officers from the Gulou Police Station went to Ms. Wang’s home. They did not find her. They called Ms. Wang’s husband and told him to ask Ms. Wang to sign paperwork in the police station. Ms. Wang did not cooperate.
Around April 6, Bai from the Dongchangfu District 610 Office called Zhou (first name and gender unknown) by phone and asked to meet Zhou. Zhou refused to cooperate. On May 11, three officers from the Liuyuan Police Station went to Zhou’s home to take pictures, but Zhou refused to cooperate. In mid-May, Bai called Zhou’s son to sign paperwork, but he refused. On the morning of June 10, an officer from the Liuyuan Police Station, Party secretary of the community management office, and community management staff member Zhi went to Zhou’s home. They asked Zhou to cooperate with them to put away the photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
11. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Liao Shilong Arrested
Around 4 p.m. on March 9, 2022, Li from the community management office knocked on Mr. Liao Shilong’s door on the grounds of checking the safety of his water heaters. Twelve people immediately rushed in. Some of them were from the Xiangshan District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and some were from the Jiangjunqiao Police Station. They said that they played back surveillance videos, and one person appeared to be Mr. Liao who was distributing truth-clarification materials. They rummaged through Mr. Liao’s home and found two desk calendars which were dated prior to 2020. They took Mr. Liao to the police station and interrogated him for nearly two hours. When he refused to talk they released him.
12. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Police officers broke into Mr. Li Haifeng’s home on June 8, 2022. They asked Mr. Li, his mother Ms. Liu Xiuying, and Ms. Ning, who was visiting, to go to the police department for questioning and to have notes taken.
Mr. Li firmly refused to cooperate with the police. The officers confiscated his Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer. They forcibly took the three practitioners to the police department. All three practitioners returned home that day.
13. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Bao Lixia and Ms. Li Yanying Arrested
Ms. Bao Lixia and Ms. Li Yanying were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the Dongxing Bridge at 2 p.m. on May 9, 2022. They were arrested by officers from the Jiadong Police Station. Five people from the community management office and the police station ransacked their homes. The officers confiscated from Ms. Bao’s home three photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a Falun diagram, five Falun Gong books, an e-book, and a computer. The officers confiscated from Ms. Li’s home a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, and a printer. That night the officers took both practitioners to Hongda Hospital for medical examinations and wanted to detain them. Due to the pandemic, the detention center refused to accept them. The two practitioners were not released until after 5 p.m. the next day.
The officers also called work units of Ms. Bao’s husband and son, which put a lot of stress on Ms. Bao’s family. When the officers ransacked her home, her husband, who had heart problems, was intimidated.
In early June, staff members of the Changsheng Community Management Office and the Jiadong Police Station repeatedly phoned Ms. Bao’s husband, which disturbed the normal life of her family.
14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Harassed Repeatedly
Ms. Liu was reported to the police around May 1, 2021, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested at home and taken to the Xinnong Police Station by officers from Caidian District Domestic Security Division. She was later transferred to the Dongxihu Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
In the past six months, Yang Zhengmin of the Xinnong Police Station in the Caidian District and Yang Yun, from Caidian District Domestic Security Division, repeatedly harassed Ms. Liu. They pressured her to sign paperwork, videotaped her, and photographed her.
15. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Guixiang Arrested
Ms. Zhou Guixiang noticed that there was no water or electricity in her home on May 25, 2022. She went outside to find out why. As soon as she stepped out, she was grabbed by several officers from the Dayingpo Police Station who had been waiting at her door. These people forced their way into her home. One officer grabbed Ms. Zhou so hard to restrain her, that her wrists and arms were bruised.
Seven or eight domestic security officers, headed by Zhang Zhu, ransacked Ms. Zhou’s home and took pictures. They confiscated a large number of her personal belongings. The took Ms. Zhou to the police station for questioning and taking notes. Later, Ms. Zhou was taken to Guiyang City Police Department, where she was forced to put on a prison uniform and undergo a physical examination. While her blood pressure was measured, Ms. Zhou suddenly experienced dizziness, heart palpitations, weakness of limbs, and she was unable to lift her head. Despite her condition the officers interrogated her and told her to sign paperwork, which she refused.
Afterwards, the officers locked up Ms. Zhou with the inmates. It was not until the next afternoon that they came to ask her for a blood test before releasing her. When they asked her to sign something that slandered Falun Gong she refused. The officers then told her to sign paperwork for release on bail, which she refused as well. Then the officers said that Ms. Zhou’s daughter was waiting for her outside and told her to go home with her daughter.
After Ms. Zhou returned home, she learned that the officers asked her daughter to sign a bail form at the Dayingpo Police Station before they let her pick up her mother.
