(Minghui.org) Before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuted Falun Dafa, there were over 200 people in my village who were practicing it. There are approximately 40 who were able to stay firm in their belief up to this day. Our Fa-study group has come through the persecution without interruption all these years. We share with each other about the difficulties we’ve encountered in clarifying the truth and work together to resolve them. Below are a few difficult situations I have encountered while talking to people about the persecution of Dafa.
My Compassion Touches a Man’s Heart
In the Fall of 2019, I drove my electric tricycle with my spouse, also a Dafa practitioner, to my daughter-in-law’s home. We met many people along the way and gave them Minghui desktop calendars.
We were very close to our destination when I saw two people on the side of the road. I stopped and walked over to give them desk calendars. One of the men grabbed the calendar and wanted to rip it up. I hurriedly said, “Don’t do that, it’s very precious!”
He barked, “What’s the use of this? Give me some money instead.”
“You have to accumulate virtue if you want to be rich,” I replied, “and this will tell you how to do it.”
He flipped through the calendar and asked where I was from. However, he continued to berate me, “I only need to make a phone call and you will be arrested.” My heart was not moved. My spouse was waiting on the tricycle and motioned for me to leave.
I knew this man was deeply poisoned by the CCP’s propaganda and thought to myself: Master arranged for me to save him. So I said, “You will not report me, because you know I am doing this for your own good. I just hope that you can distinguish between good and evil.”
He asked me to take off my mask (This was pre-pandemic, but there was a lot of dust on the dirt road). He stared at me for a while, then I asked him to carefully read the calendar and said I had to be going. I was about to get on the tricycle when he suddenly blurted out his name and the village he was from and pleaded, “Please help me quit the CCP! If you have new materials, please bring them to me.”
A Meaningful Trip
I went to a neighboring town to meet a lawyer for a fellow practitioner’s court case. I was the last person to board a shared minivan, and some passengers were asleep. I didn’t want to wake them up, but after a while, I thought there wouldn’t be enough time if I didn’t start to clarify the truth to them right away. So I said to the passenger next to me, “Have you heard about quitting the CCP to stay safe?”
As soon as I said that, everyone woke up, and they all questioned me about the things they learned from the CCP’s propaganda, such as Dafa practitioners were not allowed to take medicine, how they occupied the central government compound (Zhongnanhai), if they killed their children and wives, or if they committed suicide by self-immolation, and so on. I thought to myself, Master has arranged for all of them to be here, so I must not waste this opportunity.
I asked Master Li (Dafa’s founder) to give me wisdom and first addressed their skepticism of practitioners not being allowed to take medicine. I said, “Dafa’s Master talked about why people get sick. He asks Dafa practitioners to value virtue and do good things, and that they ‘... should not fight back when being punched or insulted ...’ (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun) But He never insisted that people should not take medicine.”
Just then, the driver stopped the vehicle, got out, opened the door next to me and told me to leave. I calmly responded, “I won’t get off, this is in the middle of nowhere, and if you don’t take me to my destination, how can I pay you?” The passengers in the van also told the driver, “Don’t be like this. Keep going.”
The driver got back in, turned toward me, and yelled, “Don’t say anything! If you talk again, I will push you out!”
I replied, “Don’t be like this! Even China’s laws allow for freedom of speech. Only our country’s dictators do not allow people to speak. Those in power will put a dunce hat on you and call you a criminal. Regardless of your innocence, you’ll be found guilty. When people are wronged, they are not allowed to speak about the injustice they face. Isn’t that right?” The driver didn’t reply.
I went on to tell everyone about the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square and explained how it was staged. I also told them that Dafa’s Master said, “For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun) and “… suicide is sinful.” (Lecture Given at the Conference in Sydney) They continued to ask more questions, and I answered them all. We had a very good conversation.
When we arrived at my destination, I was about to get off, when a couple of the passengers said, “Don’t leave yet. Tell us more!”
I replied, “I hope I will get to talk to you all more in the future.” The driver even gave me his business card and told me to call him whenever I needed to take another trip.
“I Have Hope!”
A fellow practitioner and I went out distributing truth-clarification materials when we came across an elderly man in a greenhouse. He happened to be the owner’s father. I gave him a Falun Dafa booklet, which he immediately threw on the ground. I said, “Sir, it seems you misunderstand us.”
“Don’t talk to me about this!” He got out his phone and was about to make a call. I immediately asked Master to dismantle the evil factors interfering with him. I said to Master in my heart: I am here to help awaken this man today.
As soon as my righteous thoughts came out, the man jumped up and ran a few steps, like a donkey kicking. I knew that Master was cleaning up the interfering elements behind him. He slowly returned to his seat and said, “Give me one. There is hope!”
“There is hope for what?” I inquired. “For me,” he replied. “I have hope.” He then listened attentively as I clarified the truth to him.
This experience made me realize that whenever we encounter someone like this, we should not think about ourselves but think of them instead. It’s very dangerous for them to misunderstand the truth. Moreover, when we meet the requirements of the Fa, Master is by our side to protect us.
Not Giving Up
When I was distributing materials at a market, a man walked by with a bicycle. I handed him a brochure and wanted to clarify the truth to him, but he said, “I don’t want to read it. The CCP is good because it gives us money. How can you go against it?”
I didn’t know where to start, so I asked Master to give me wisdom. I responded, “Can you pause for a moment so we can chat for a bit?”
He said, “You don’t need to say anything. I won’t listen.” But I didn’t want to give up on him, because I knew I probably wouldn’t have the chance to meet him again. He walked slowly around the market, and I followed him. After a while, he looked at me and smiled. Perhaps his knowing side knew that I was trying to save him. He turned around and said, “You don’t need to follow me.”
“I can’t give up on you,” I replied. “Please,” he exclaimed, “Just give up on me!”
I said, “If I give up on you, you will be destroyed. Can you just pause for a minute? I’ll tell you about the CCP.” He finally stopped walking.
I asked him, “I can tell from your age that you have been through the Cultural Revolution, right? My father was in the army and had multiple gunshot wounds. He almost died several times. Several members of China’s Central Committee, as well as the commander of the Tianjin Garrison were his comrades-in-arms. After the CCP established power, my father didn’t want to stay and insisted on returning to his village. He then became the CCP’s village secretary.
“My father fought for the CCP all his life. However, he was severely tortured during the Cultural Revolution. I was very young and barely remembered it. But I saw my father being forced to put on a big paper hat and be publicly denounced. Think about it, which CCP campaign did not involve killing Chinese people?
In 1989, the students who fought against corruption and demanded democracy were attacked in Tiananmen Square and run over by tanks. But the CCP broadcasted that not a single college student died. The CCP relies on lies to maintain its power. Look at Falun Dafa. The CCP framed and made up all kinds of lies about practitioners. It even fabricated the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident to deceive the kindhearted Chinese. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good, but Jiang Zemin (the former CCP leader) decided to persecute Dafa out of jealousy. You must not be deceived by these lies!”
He listened without interrupting me and asked, “Which village are you from?” I told him and also told him my real name. He remarked, “I really didn’t know about this! I’ll find you again someday to learn more.”
I said, “Okay. Can I help you quit the Party?” He agreed.
