1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Shanying Faces Trial

Ms. Zhang Shanying will be tried by the Shushan District Court on the morning of July 27, 2022. The judge is Wu Xiaoshui and the assistant is Huang Xiao.

2. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhang Chunyao Faces Trial

Ms. Zhang Chunyao was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Yinzhou District Police Department and the Zhonghe Police Station on April 15, 2021. She will be tried at 9 a.m. on July 26, 2022.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Xiuying Faces Trial

Xu Bing, a Linghai City Court judge, and five people from the Community Management Office went to Ms. Wei Xiuying’s home on July 19, 2022, and delivered an indictment. The indictment stated that on April 27, Ms. Wei was placed under 10 days of administrative detention by the Linghai City Police Department for distributing Falun Gong materials. This claim in the indictment is a false statement, which the authorities are using to escalate the persecution. The court plans to hold a video trial at Ms. Wei’s home on July 27.

4. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Zhuliang and His Wife Ms. Zheng Huiqin Arrested

Seven or eight officers from the Jiguan District Police Department broke into Mr. Zhao Zhuliang’s home and were assisted by the residential head of the building around 7:30 a.m. on July 14, 2022. They took out a search warrant, asked Mr. Zhao’s wife Ms. Zheng Huiqin to sign it, and searched the place. They confiscated three Falun Gong books, two copies of Hong Yin, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, 700 yuan in paper bills with information about Falun Gong written on them, amulets, bookmarks, and pendants. The couple was taken to the police department and asked where they got the confiscated items, who they gave them to, and where they clarified the truth. The couple was released around 3:30 p.m. that day.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Zhongqin Arrested

Ms. Deng Zhongqin, in her 70s, was in her daughter’s store around 9 a.m. on July 20, 2022, when five or six plainclothes officers from the Zhenjiangsi Police station came in to ransack the place. They confiscated dozens of Falun Gong books, several USB drives, memory cards, a calendar, a printer, and some supplies. Ms. Deng was taken to the police station for interrogation. She returned home around 5 p.m. that day.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Ruifen Arrested

Ms. Liu Ruifen was reported to the police while distributing information about Falun Gong on July 18, 2022. She was arrested.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Arrested

Officers, including Liu Jiannan from the Longnan Police Department of Ranghulu District, broke into practitioners Jin Baojin and Zhu Jianli’s home around 6:30 a.m. on July 12, 2022. They confiscated their Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. They took the two practitioners to the police department. They were released on bail that afternoon.

Officers from the Tieren Police Department arrested Ms. Liu Fenglan, Ms. Zhao Yuhua, and elderly Ms. Nie on the morning of July 12. They confiscated their Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Liu was released on bail. Ms. Zhao was released the same day after her family signed the paperwork. Ms. Nie also returned home that day.

Officers from the Xincun Police Department arrested Ms. Zhao Yuzhi and Ms. Li Shulan on July 12. They confiscated their Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Li was released that day.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yan Arrested

Ms. Wang Yan was reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials on March 5, 2022. Officers, including Fang Peng from the Dongta Police Station in Dadong District, ransacked Ms. Wang’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Wang was held in custody for three days. She was released after being fined 5,000 yuan.

Officer Fang arrested Ms. Wang again on the morning of July 20 and took her to a detention center.

9. [Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shen Wenjing Faces Trial

Over 20 people, including those from the Chengdu City 610 Office, Chongzhou City 610 Office, and the Dahua Town Police Station, went to Ms. Shen Wenjing’s home on December 7, 2021. They body searched her, ransacked her home, and took her to the local police station where she was held overnight. Ms. Shen was taken to the Chongzhou City Detention Center the following day and the Shuangliu Detention Center on the third day. A few days later, Ms. Shen was taken to the Pi County Detention Center, where she has since been held.

Chongzhou City Court notified Ms. Shen’s family that a trial would be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 26, 2022.

10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Chu Guifan Harassed

Residential police officer Xin Hao from the Hongqi Street Police Station in Fengman District and others went to Chu Guifan’s home on July 22, 2022. They pressured Chu to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong.

11. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Zhizhou’s Home Ransacked

Officers from the Guangming Police Station knocked on the door of 81-year-old Mr. Zhang Zhizhou’s home on July 16, 2022. Mr. Zhang did not open it. On July 17, around 11:30 a.m. someone started breaking his door. They were not able to pry it open until 3:00 p.m. Seven or eight people went in and ransacked the place. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

12. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Xu Aimin and Liu Zhen Arrested

Five officers from the Rongcheng City Police Department and the Gangxi Town Police Station and two domestic security officers broke into and ransacked the homes of Xu Aimin and Liu Zhen on the morning of July 8, 2022. Both practitioners were taken to the police station for interrogation and released on the same day.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Hanzhen Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Hanzhen was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on Paradise Walk in Wuhan City on June 7, 2022. The authorities identified Ms. Chen through facial recognition based on surveillance videos in the paradise walk monitoring room and tracked down her address.

Six or seven officers from the Changqing Police Station broke into Ms. Chen’s home on the morning of July 20, arrested her, and took her to the Jiang’an Brainwashing Center. Family visits have not been allowed.

14. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Yaping Missing

Ms. Wang Yaping from Jiading District is missing. Her family was unable to reach her by July 15, 2022. Her phone was not answered, and no one knew where she went.

15. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Zhiwen and Ms. Luo Chunyan Arrested

Officers from the Hebei Street Police Station, who were staked outside Mr. Wang Zhiwen’s home shut down the water to his home at 5 a.m. on July 22, 2022. When Mr. Wang went out to check, he was arrested. The officers ransacked his home. The police withheld his four-wheel electric car and electric bicycle when he refused to sign paperwork. He was released on July 23 after paying a security deposit of 2,000 yuan.

Two weeks ago Ms. Luo Chunyan was reported to the police for posting Falun Gong materials in a residential building. Officers from the Minzhu Street Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home and store. She was released the following day. Later, Ms. Luo went to the police station to ask for the Falun Gong books they confiscated. The officers refused to give them back to her, claiming that the books would serve as evidence against her.

16. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Shuiyuan Arrested

Ms. Li Shuiyuan went home after shopping on the morning of July 5, 2022. Plainclothes officers stopped her. They snatched her backpack, took her keys, opened the door and ransacked her home. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and 38 Falun Gong books.

They said that she was caught on surveillance cameras when she talked to people about Falun Gong. They took her to a local hospital for PCR testing and then to a police station in Yunxi District.

After the PCR test results came out, Ms. Li was taken to Yueyang City Police Department at 5 p.m. where her height, weight, and feet were measured. The police took fingerprints of her ten fingers, took digital pictures of her eyes, took blood samples from her fingers, and recorded her accent. When the officers asked her to sign the transcript, she signed “Falun Gong practitioner.”

The next day, Ms. Li went to the police station and asked that her confiscated items be returned. The officers only returned the photos of the founder of Falun Gong and one book.

17. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Harassed

Two officers from the Shujiao Police Station went to Mr. Chu Tongchun’s home in the Fujia Village on the afternoon of July 14, 2022. They forced him to sign statements by threatening that he would be taken away if he refused.

Officers from the Fate Town Police Station went to the homes of Zhou Jinghua, Li Fengling, Li Bingku, Tian Shulan, Guan Shuqin, Cao Guoqin, Li Fengjuan, and Wang Zhigang and took photos of them on July 13, 2022.

Around July 20, two domestic security officers went to Ms. Kong Fanqin’s home to check it out claiming that they were returning her computer and cell phone.

18. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Liwen’s Pension Stopped

Ms. Li Liwen, who received the Outstanding Teacher reward, was arrested at home on July 19, 2019. She was tried by the Chuanying District Court in November 2019 and sentenced to three years in prison. She was held in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison. On April 21, 2022, when she returned home after her prison term ended, she learned that her pension had been stopped.

19. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yuling Arrested

Elderly Ms. Wang Yuling from Xiezhuang Village, Hongshan Town, Zichuan District, was followed and arrested by plainclothes officers from the Chengnan Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong in August 2021. She was taken to the Zichuan District Police Department. After her family paid 2,000 yuan, she was released on bail pending trial and placed under residential surveillance.

Ms. Wang was arrested by officers from the Hongshan Town Police Station in early July 2022. Two days later, she was taken to the Zibo City Detention Center, where she has been held.

20. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Yan, Ms. Cui Hongmei, and an elderly female practitioner were also arrested on July 12, 2022, when police arrested practitioners in Qiqihar City. The three practitioners have now returned home. A female practitioner and her daughter who run a barber shop in Erdaowan Town, Fuyu County, were also arrested. She has returned home, but her daughter has not.

21. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Su Lifen, Ms. Li Fuying, Ms. Li Fuqin, Han Yuping, and Sun Zhiqing were arrested around the same time by officers from the Anyang City Domestic Security Division on July 11, 2022. Among the five practitioners arrested, Ms. Su Lifen, Ms. Li Fuqin, and Han Yuping returned home on July 18. Li Fuying and Sun Zhiqing were taken to a detention center.

22. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Tan Juanyun and Ms. Zou Ling were arrested and taken into custody on the morning of July 13, 2022, for telling people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zou was released. Ms. Tan’s whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Liu Juzhen and Peng Jinyuan were arrested at home around 9 p.m. on July 13. They have returned home.

23. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Shuxiang, Ms. Fan Shuying, Ms. Chen Chunling, and Mr. Huang Xinxin from Shangzhi City were reported to the police on February 18, 2022, when they went door-to-door to clarify the truth in Mifengtun, Maoershan Town. They were arrested by officers from the Maoershan Town Police Station.

After more than four months of criminal detention, they were tried by the Shangzhi City Court around July. During the trial, village Party secretary and several villagers testified in court against the practitioners. Each of the four practitioners was sentenced to three years in prison.

24. [Dongning City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners’ Homes Ransacked

Officers from the Dongning City Domestic Security Division and police stations went to the homes of practitioners Li Guizhe, Li Xiurong, Li Xiuzhen, Jing Xiaohua, Jiang Wenhua, Zhao Fengmei, and Tai Fuzhen and ransacked them on July 19, 2022. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and audio players.

25. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Zhi Monitored

Ms. Li Zhi lives in the No. 11 residential community of Dongxihu District. Since June 2022, her cell phone and the app for bus riders on her cell phone have been monitored. When she went out, security guards or people in plainclothes would watch and follow her.

26. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hao Shuping Arrested

Four or five officers from the Xiyang Town Police Station in Yongji County broke into Ms. Hao Shuping’s home on July 23, 2022. They took her to the police station and told her that she would be detained for 13 days. She was later released as she did not feel well.

27. [Linli County, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

On the morning of July 21, 2022, the Linli County Police Department, Anfu Town Police Station, and Wangcheng Township Police Station dispatched a large number of police officers to Falun Gong practitioners’ homes to arrest them. The officers also ransacked the practitioners’ homes.

Six practitioners and one non-practitioner were arrested. They are Ms. Jin Xinchun, Ms. Hu Yueying, Ms. Wu Chuanying, Ms. Jiang Zongdian, Ms. Zhou Cuilan, Ms. Qi Kaixiang, and Mr. Gao Fie (non-practitioner, Ms. Jin’s son). Ms. Wu, Ms. Jiang, and Ms. Qi were released around 10 p.m. that night. Ms. Zhou was detained for 12 days. Ms. Jin, Ms. Hu, and Mr. Gao were taken to the Changde City Detention Center. It was reported that they had to be quarantined for 14 days due to the pandemic.

28. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chang Chunming Arrested

Mr. Chang Chunming, 58, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Baita District Police Department and from the Xiangping Police Station on June 29, 2022. The officers ransacked his home, took photos, and asked his family to sign paperwork. Mr. Chang’s wife and daughter were traumatized.

Mr. Chang was taken to the police station. He was to be detained for 15 days. However, during the pandemic, the lockup center was over its capacity. He was released, pending further notice. He returned home around 8 p.m. that night.

Around July 22, Mr. Chang received two messages via the WeChat social media app. The police told him to go to the police station, as there was a vacancy in the lockup center and he had to be detained there for 15 days.
