(Minghui.org) The annual Rego Park street fair was held along 63rd Drive in Rego Park, between Austin Street & Queens Boulevard on Saturday, August 13, 2022. The festival area extended for 300 meters, and included vendors displaying many different types of merchandise and clothing. Of these participants, the Falun Dafa booth was most outstanding. The booth displayed its information in a bright yellow tent with the words “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and “Falun Dafa is Good” written on the side.
Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, and raised awareness of Falun Dafa to passersby.
Many people attended the festival, and came from all walks of life. They casually browsed through each vendor’s area, and tasted different delicacies.
Falun Dafa practitioners introduced the practice to attendees, and raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution of the cultivation practice.
After learning the truth about Falun Dafa, many signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Some tried to pronounce the words “Falun Dafa” in Chinese upon seeing the Chinese characters written on the tent. A Spanish passerby praised practitioners, “Many people have yet to learn the truth about Falun Dafa. You are amazing!”
More people arrived at the festival after 2 p.m. Accompanied by calm exercise music, the practitioners demonstrated the exercises, and attracted the attention of many attendees. They inquired about Falun Dafa and even took group practice site informational cards. Two police officers came by and expressed their support for practitioners. Practitioners patiently answered questions from passersby, and many wanted to learn the practice.
