(Minghui.org) I was shocked to see the article “Falun Gong Has Always Been Legal in China” published on Minghui.org for twenty consecutive days from July 20 this year. I take that as a hint from Master that it is urgent for us to save people now. I’d like to share some of my limited understanding of this matter. Please correct me if there is anything improper.
Perpetrators Are Also Victims
When Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), ordered the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, he vowed to “eradicate Falun Gong within three months.” He and his associates mobilized the entire country’s propaganda apparatus, including television, radio, and newspapers, to slander Falun Gong in every way possible. The regime manufactured many propaganda stories to demonize Falun Gong and incite hatred against Falun Gong practitioners, such as the “Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation Hoax” and the “1,400 Alleged Deaths.”
After decades of communist rule, many Chinese abandoned traditional values of right and wrong and became indoctrinated with communist ideologies that promote lies, evil, and greed. As a result, in the face of the persecution, many Chinese easily developed a hatred of Falun Gong practitioners and resolutely followed the Party in the persecution, leaving a society devoid of morality.
Especially for those in the law enforcement and judicial branches who were supposed to uphold justice, many fell for the lure of political advancement and acted on the frontlines in sending Falun Gong practitioners to prison. Some judges openly admit, “This isn't about law, this is about politics.”
Despite the lack of legal basis for the persecution, many police officers arrested and harassed practitioners or even killed them for their organs simply with the excuse that “the government does not allow people to practice Falun Gong.”
But no matter how rampant the persecution is, no perpetrators can escape their ultimate fate.
Many top Party officials who were widely complicit in the persecution of Falun Gong, such as Zhou Yongkang, Bo Xilai, Xu Caihou, and Li Dongsheng (former 610 Office director), have all been imprisoned.
If the top czars can’t even protect themselves, who will protect their followers - the lower-level officials? In fact, jobs in the 610 Office, an extralegal agency created specifically to persecute Falun Gong, are now whispered quietly about as “death traps,” followed by those who falsely prosecuted and judged Falun Gong practitioners.
More than 20,000 perpetrators have met with untimely fates of one kind or another, as documented by Minghui. Some ended up behind bars, others involved in fatal car accidents or dying from a multitude of sudden or chronic diseases.
All along, it has always been important for practitioners to clarify the facts to the public officials, police, prosecutors and judges. This will not only help alleviate the persecution, but also save these lives from going down with the CCP.
Getting back to the article “Falun Gong Has Always Been Legal in China,” I believe it will allow the perpetrators to understand the lack of legal basis for the persecution, while giving them opportunities to stop participating in the persecution and choose a bright future for themselves.
The Future of Those Who Follow Suit
In addition to the evil-doers mentioned above, who are victims that need to be saved, most of the Chinese public have also been harmed in the persecution. Even if they feel that they are not directly involved in the persecution of Falun Gong and that Falun Gong has nothing to do with them, to have their hearts turned against Dafa by lies and deception has done no good for them.
However, in China, everyone knows about the persecution of Falun Gong. Many had to take a stance against it in their workplace or school. Given the overwhelming propaganda spread by the CCP, it’s hard for anyone to resist the tide of indoctrination.
In many teachings, Master has told us that many people in the world today have reincarnated from higher beings.
“Then what should you do when faced with such lives? From Master’s perspective, I know that these people should be saved and are worthy of being saved.” (“Fa Teaching at the U.S. Capital,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume VIII)
Master also said,
“Awakening them is your own responsibility. Saving them is a responsibility for all of you.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIV)
As practitioners, we need to realize the urgency of clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings. But how do we awaken them and save them? We need to clarify the facts to them, awaken their good sides and help them to abandon the evil.
Here are two specific things we could do.
Firstly, help more people understand that “Falun Gong Has Always Been Legal in China,” so that they will stop committing crimes against Dafa.
I printed 100 copies of this article and distribute it in different ways. Sometimes we gave a copy after talking to people face-to-face and sometimes we distribute it with other materials. As for the prosecutors and judges, I plan to write letters to them.
Secondly, encourage people to quit the Party. I usually share with people that as a 78-year-old man, I have experienced all kinds of the CCP's political campaigns, such as the Three-Anti and Five-Anti Campaigns, the Sufan Movement (purge of perceived opponents), the Anti-Rightist Movement, the Great Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Massacre, and the persecution of Falun Gong.
These campaigns led to the unnatural deaths of more than 80 million people. The CCP has a history of murder, and its hands are stained with blood. When people choose to quit the CCP and its affiliates, peace may then come to them.
