(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners continues while the Fa-rectification nears its end. Some practitioners did not know how to oppose the persecution and were persecuted, others had strong righteous thoughts, clarified the truth, opposed the persecution, and in the end the police let them go. How did these practitioners do it?
Here are some examples of what some of them shared.
The police illegally arrested over 100 Falun Gong practitioners in one particular city on November 9, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin (the former CCP leader) for persecuting Falun Gong. A police officer stopped a practitioner in a market, and asked, “Did you sue Jiang Zemin? If so, you must sign your name on this form!”
The practitioner refused, saying “My Master said ‘I should not be willing to give it.’” The officer told the practitioner, “Since your Master said that, you can go.”
The practitioner told this story to another practitioner. The other practitioner asked where Master said those words, and was told that Master said that in the Third Lecture of Zhuan Falun. This practitioner referred to just one sentence of the Fa to dissolve the persecution he faced. If he only said he didn’t want to sign it, and did not mention Master, it may not have worked.
A practitioner was working on her farm when a group of police came to arrest her. She was not afraid. She pointed to the police and started reciting Master’s poem loudly,
“Jumping up and down wildlyThe evil media’s lies howling like a beastPeople turned wicked, ghost-like, assisting the madnessKind thoughts are gone, conscience lostAs the autumn wind blows, red changes to yellowMadness no more, panic every dayThe wicked will be punished immediately with no escapeAll evildoers have to payDare you still act wildly”(“Do You Still Act Wildly”, Hong Yin IV)
The police had already left before she finished the poem.
The police harassed an elderly practitioner in 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. The practitioner knew it was the police who knocked at her door, but still opened it. An officer asked if the practitioner sued Jiang. The practitioner said, “Stand there. Please recite Articles 35 and 36 of the Constitution for me first.” The officer said he could not recite it. The practitioner continued, “Since you cannot recite it, let me give you a lesson in law today. Article 35 of the Constitution stipulates that citizens of the People’s Republic of China enjoy the freedoms of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of due process, and of demonstration. Article 36 stipulates citizens of the People’s Republic of China have freedom of religious belief.”
The officer asked if he could go in and check whether there were any printers in the home. The practitioner replied, “Didn’t you hear the Constitution I just told you? You are violating the Constitution!”
The officer apologized, saying, “Yes I heard it. We will go now.”
A police officer had been waiting in a practitioner’s yard, waiting for him to return home. When the practitioner arrived on his motorcycle, the officer jumped out saying, “You’re finally back. We need to take a picture of you.”
The practitioner responded, “No hurry. Let me wash my face and put on clean clothes first.”
The officer seemed confused, saying, “Others don’t let us take pictures. Why do you allow us?”
The practitioner said calmly, “I have to let you take my picture. I need the evidence that you are persecuting me, so I can sue you!”
The officer immediately left.
A practitioner was held in a police station in July 2014. He was handcuffed and shackled to an iron chair. The practitioner firmly made up his mind that he would never betray Master and Falun Dafa, and focused on reciting “Falun Dafa is good” repeatedly. Gradually, he felt as wonderful as sitting inside an egg shell. The police praised him, with one officer saying, “This fellow is really determined. He sits on the chair without moving for eight hours.”
They soon released him.
Ms. Feng Shurong was incarcerated in a women’s prison in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. Warden Wu Yanjie once threatened her, saying, “You must give up your belief in Falun Gong. There are only two ways for you: either give up your belief, or we will beat you to death.”
A group of guards were ready to beat Ms. Feng as soon as she refused to give up her belief. Ms. Feng walked out of the door and started shouting in the corridor, “Hello everyone, I am Feng Surong. If I die today, it is not suicide. It is warden Wu Yanjie and the guards who will beat me to death!”
She then went inside the room and closed the door, saying, “Okay. Do what you will.”
The warden was very angry, shouting, “Get out! Get out!”
A practitioner refused to perform forced labor in the prison. A guard pulled out an electric baton and was about to beat him, when the practitioner said, “It's not that I don’t want to work. I get paid whenever I work. But I don’t get paid here!”
The guard asked how much he wanted. The practitioner replied, “I’m an engineer and my workplace paid me more than 4,000 yuan per month.”
“What!?” the guard responded, “I’m only paid 3,000 yuan and you ask for 4,000.”
The practitioner cited the law, saying, “According to Article 72 of China’s Prison Law, the prison shall pay prisoners who participate in labor in accordance with the relevant regulations and implement labor protection in accordance with state regulations.”
The guard relented, and said, “OK! You don’t need to work. Go back to your cell.”
In the article “At Critical Moments Have Faith in Master” published on the Minghui website, the officers planed to get the author to sign a document denouncing his belief in Falun Gong. Below is an extract from the article.
A young officer poked my forehead with his finger and said, “We’ve been nice to you so far. Believe it or not, we can get a dozen officers in here to hold you down and force you to sign [the document] in 10 minutes.”
I remained silent and thought, “I haven’t been afraid of death for a long time now. It’s not my fault if they physically force me to sign, so I don’t need to be attached to the outcome. Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) knows my true thought. Still, I shouldn’t let the police commit crimes against Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners.”
I then asked Master for help to not allow the officers to act out their threat. I was calm. and didn’t worry about their threats.
A group of people from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the community neighbors, the national security division, the local police station, and other so-called “experts” also visited me. Before they left, they reminded me again that they will use violence to force me to sign the document.
I smiled and replied, “That’s something you can’t do.” My firm belief in Master turned the situation around since they never returned, and no one forced me to sign or fingerprint any document.
The Chinese article “Dismanteling the Evil Factors” (no English translation) describes how an over-70-year-old practitioner from the countryside calmly spoke to the police when she was illegally detained.
When the police started to question her, she said, “I only say what I should say and never say what I shouldn’t.” The police asked the names of her husband, son and daughter. She refused to tell them, saying that her family has already suffered from the persecution.
When an officer shouted, “Lock her up!” she responded calmly, “It’s not up to you. You are breaking the law.” The police didn’t seem to care and said she could sue them.
The practitioner responded, “I can certainly sue you. Freedom of belief is protected by law. You can read Articles 35, 36, 37, 38 and 39 of the Constitution. The law also stipulates that the persecutor is responsible for life of unjust, false and wrongful convictions. You have been persecuting Falun Gong for more than 20 years and you will be punished for persecuting good people when the truth is revealed.”
The officer kept asking questions, and the practitioner replied, “I just clarify the truth. What I tell people is all written in this Dafa amulet. Please take a look.”
The officers took the amulet and looked carefully at both sides. Then they asked the practitioner repeatedly to sign her name on their documents. She warned them, “It’s for your own good that I do not sign. If I sign it and you use it as evidence to persecute Falun Gong, you won’t be able to bear the consequences when the time comes for settling all the crimes against Falun Gong. Besides, I will never betray my Master’s compassionate saving of sentient beings, and my conscience.”
After the practitioner finished talking, she walked out of the police station with her head held high, and with dignity.
A practitioner was held in a detention center in 2018. She did not cooperate with the guards, so they ordered criminal inmates to beat her, injuring her thighs badly. She looked within and found she had a competitive mentality. When the inmates used foul language, she again looked within and found her attachment to lust. She continually denied the old forces’ persecution, and was released 30 days later.
There are many examples of practitioners successfully opposing the persecution, all of which are the manifestation of their firm belief in Master and Dafa, and thoroughly denying the old forces’ arrangement.
