Getting Rid of Attachments and Saving Those Who Work for the CCP

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the “Zero Out” campaign to harass Falun Dafa practitioners, trying to force practitioners on a government blacklist to renounce their belief. I have been harassed multiple times over the past two years by the police and neighborhood committee. Under the compassionate guidance and protection of Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, I got rid of many attachments, rectified myself, and showed my kindness toward these people. Since I changed my notions and met the requirements of Dafa, Master helped resolve my tribulations.

I am in my 70s and began cultivation in Dafa in 1997. I have done poorly in clarifying the truth to the police and others who work for the CCP, because I held strong attachments of resentment and fear. I thought they were deeply poisoned by the Party’s lies and propaganda and could not be saved, and that it might worsen the persecution against me if I told them about Falun Dafa, let alone try to save them. Many of them were not ignorant to the facts however, and knew very well the Party was bad, but still followed it due to self interest. They knew right from wrong, but still chose to do bad things.

Every time the authorities came to harass me, I just endured it because I felt there was nothing else I could do. The more frequent the harassment, the stronger my resentment and fear grew.

I realize now that resentment and fear were the main reasons for my becoming a target of the “Zero Out” campaign. After studying Master’s Fa regarding this issue and reading practitioners’ sharing articles on Minghui.org, I came to understand that the police and the others are also all Master’s relatives, as well as our relatives. We should not be afraid of them, and we need to save them.

However, I was pushing these people to the opposite side because of my fear. The old forces exploited my loopholes, and sent the police to arrest me. A cultivator needs to get rid of resentment. We cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and need to be kind to others and help them.

Once I had this understanding, I elevated my xinxing. Master removed my attachment of resentment and fear, and left me with a benevolent heart. I was thus able to tell these people about Dafa and help save them when they later came to harass me.

A dozen officers came to my home and ransacked it. I was kept in the living room. I thought: They are all here to learn about Falun Dafa. My heart calmed down. I prayed to Master to save them and dissolve the old force factors interfering with them. From that moment on, I felt I truly wanted goodness for these police officers.

Strangely, none of them spoke when I sent forth righteous thoughts. I thought they had all left, but when I opened my eyes, they were still there. I began to tell them about Dafa. I talked about how practicing Falun Dafa is legal, and told them about the staging of the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident.

I told them that everything we practitioners do is legal, and what they do to practitioners is illegal. They were not in police uniform nor did they carry badges, and they did not let me know their names. This showed that they knew they were doing something wrong.

I was taken to the police station and interrogated. I just sent forth righteous thoughts, continued to tell them about Dafa, and didn’t answer their questions. I told them with a smile, “I am doing this for your sake, to not let you commit crimes. Persecuting practitioners is persecuting the Buddha Fa. It’s a huge crime that will harm you and your family.” I’m sure they sensed my sincerity, so they stopped interrogating me and released me that night.

I looked inward as to why they wanted to interrogate me. Aside from attachments to resentment and fear, I did not solidly cultivate, as my Fa study had become a formality. I was afraid of hardship and did not cultivate my speech. I believed I was superior to others and would not accept criticism. I looked outward when I ran into troubles.

In this “Zero Out” campaign, I felt that Master had been holding my hand all the time, hinting at me to change my notions. I truly realized that the relationship between the police and us was not that of persecutors and victims, but rather those being saved and their savior. The police were the ones deceived by the CCP and thus engaged in the persecution. We need to save them with a benevolent heart, rather than holding resentment toward them.

Master said,

“Dafa disciples are now sentient beings’ only, sole hope for salvation.” (“Righteous Thoughts,” Essentials for Diligent Progress, III)

The old forces wanted to use the “Zero Out” campaign as an excuse to persecute practitioners. Master took this opportunity to elevate practitioners. Practitioners help the police and others who work for the CCP know that it is legal to practice Falun Dafa, so that they will choose not to persecute practitioners. This way, they have an opportunity to be saved. If we do not tell them the facts about Falun Dafa, they may be eliminated with the CCP.
